- The BEST MLB Dream Team Lineup of All Time
This is my best all time lineup for a must win game in MLB History. Which players would make it into your dream team lineup for a must win game in MLB history? - Спорт
Here's an idea for content: Do a best all time lineup for all 30 MLB teams
Exactly what I was thinking
Nicolas Smith yesssss
Nicolas Smith Yeaaahhh
RF for the pirates is Roberto clemente
Oooh that’ll be good
Barry Bonds didn’t have the most walks in history because of his eye, it was because the pitchers were afraid of him.
Eli Steier he meant walks
He had a great eye dude
David Levison yeah but he also had a great eye give the man credit
Yup
Starting in his age 24 season, Bonds had more walks than strikeouts. In most cases it was almost a 2:1 ratio. So well before he was on ‘roids he was displaying a good eye.
Random but if griffey stayed healthy, he would probably have the greatest stats ever and possibly 15 gold gloves. Guy could do it all in his prime
Griffey could easily make the list
@SportsSuperStar same. This is stats list
@SportsSuperStar you don't have a catcher
@SportsSuperStar nice list
@SportsSuperStar I'm still debating my list. Not easily to pick but Griffey Jr is certainly in CF and batting 3rd in the line up. Growing up in the 90s in Texas Being a long time Ranger fan I feel if people are going to select Piazza and say he was clean even though he admitted to taking PEDs before the were illegal I'm going to go with Pudge Rodriguez as my Catcher he still denies using PEDs and I find most claims that Jose Conseco had were to promote his book sales. Im trying to Balane Offense with Defense and you really cant find a catcher that was more respect behind the plate to try and steal bases on. And since I'm a Ranger Fan I'll likely go with Nolan Ryan as my Starting pitcher.
micky mantle was playing injured his whole career he could have been even better
"In 18 seasons he had 20 All-Star appearances"
Um wait, that's illegal
Richie McGuffin they used to have two all star games in a season then
Richie McGuffin there used to be two all star games for a short stretch
@@memeteam2692 no he was just so good they put him in the allstar game twice
@@cooperthompson4512 XD
@@cooperthompson4512 Yeah, he got traded a quarter way through the season and was so good that he made the ASG for both the AL and NL XD
If I can have Pedro on the mound, I'll take the current day Orioles lineup. We're winning 1-0, nobody scoring on Pedro.
The Corona virus is about to keep the Orioles from winning the world series 😢
Who can hit? Lol
Daniel Hung Mancini. Look at the dudes stats.
Daniel Hung trey fucking Mancini
RUclips Police Villar isn’t even on the Orioles anymore
Ted Williams lost FIVE seasons to military service - three in WWII, two in Korea.
Yea, but why?? It wouldn't happen today.
He was a freaking pilot no less. His eyesight was better than 20/20.
Thank you. I can't take a baseball commentator seriously when he doesn't know that.
This is what is so fascinating about our beloved game of baseball, it has such a rich history and great players that you could create a million different versions of this Dream Team Lineup. I couldn't disagree with any of your picks Marc, though I'd take Ryne Sandberg (Cano's bat is slightly better, but Sandberg's glovework was insane) at second. Here's my list....
First off, I know I don't have a "natural" center fielder (Rickey played CF at the beginning of his career but thereafter played mostly in LF). I tried to create a lineup that, for the most part, was not prone to striking out (keep the line moving but also have some pop).
CF- Rickey Henderson (all-time stolen base king and career .401 OBP)
RF- Tony Gwynn (career .338 hitter, will NOT strikeout)
DH- Ted Williams (no explanation needed)
1B- Albert Pujols (Wanted Lou Gehrig, needed to break up the lefty bats)
LF- Stan Musial (another lefty, career .331 hitter, with pop)
2B- Rogers Hornsby (the career numbers are staggering)
3B- Chipper Jones (criminally underrated, career .305 switch hitter w/ .930 OPS)
C- Buster Posey (controversial pick, but career .302, some pop, keeps the line moving)
SS- Ozzie Smith (lockdown glove in the team's most crucial defensive position)
P- Curt Schilling
Closer- Mariano Rivera (There can't be many who would disagree with this pick)
Definitely do this with current players
The Mets bias is getting too far at this point, you have Jackie Robinson, Hornsby, and Joe Morgan at 2nd base and decided to pick Cano? Wtf?
RUclips Police Yeah your right
He needed a lefty and he was picking the most dominant not the best. Cano was very dominant on the yankees. More dominant than the guys that you mentioned.
Alomar? He is a switch hitter and he is WAY better than steroid-taking Canó. Heck, I could go out on a limb and say that Craig Counsell is better than Canó but I wouldn’t do that because we all know Counsell had the greatest stance ever. Lol.
@@otter4649 I got to go with Cano
Aidan Murray joe Morgan was a lefty and better than cano
Solid list. Here’s mine (all players assumed to be in prime and playing clean)...
LF - Rickey Henderson
CF - Ken Griffey Jr.
DH - Babe Ruth
RF - Hank Aaron
1B - Albert Pujols
C - Mike Piazza
3B - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Cal Ripken Jr.
2B - Jackie Robinson
P - Sandy Koufax
Ted Williams and Barry Bonds almost made my LF but for leadoff there is none better than Rickey.
Jackie? Really
Henderson over Williams, wow really? Ricky has no place even close to being on the all time team. Pujols over Gehrig, Foxx and Greenberg, wow really? Gehrig has 1st base no question. How many times did Pujols have over 150 RBI's in a season? Don't think he ever did that. Gehrig did it pretty much every year and not just that, he did it batting behind Ruth who would have 140 every year. Figure that one out. Piazza over Bench hahahhahaha Piazza had a great bat but terrible defence. Bench had a great bat and was the best defensive catcher ever. Catcher along with shortstop, fielding is much more important that hitting. Bench had a cannon for an arm that was extremely accurate. He also had two MVP because of his bat as well. Piazza was terrible behind the plate. He couldn't throw out an offensive lineman. Sure his bat was great but a catcher is needed more for his glove and arm. If everyone on the other team could steal a base on you, your bat will no way make up for it. Griffey Jr. over Mays, Mantle, Cobb and shoeless Joe, probably the hardest position to choose. Ruth was actually a better fielder than Aaron having quite a bit more assists. Remember he was a pitcher and had a great arm. Alex Rodriguez at third, hahahhahahahahah he was a shortstop mainly, not a third basemen and was a roidboy. Cheater so he is out. Schmidt was the greatest all around third baseman ever. 8 home run titles, second only to Ruth and 10 gold gloves, second only to B. Robinson. Robinson over Hornsby at second. Hahhahaha nope. Hornsby has that spot no question. Hit over .400 3 times while hitting over 300 home runs. Highest batting average in a season, .424. Robinson was very good but Hornsby was amazing. Shortstop is pretty tough. Ripken had a very good bat but was just ok with the glove. Not sure if he won any gold gloves. Honus Wagner is a great shortstop both with the bat and the glove. Can't say Ripken shouldn't be there but can't say he should be either. As impossible as it is to choose only one pitcher, Koufax would be right there at the top no doubt. Walter Johnson, Bob Gibson, Steve Carlton, etc could also be there but Koufax would probably get the start.
2B - Hornsby - .356 lifetime hitter with over 300 home runs is a better lead off than Henderson.
CF - Mays - Probably the best all around ball player in the history of the game.
RF - Ruth - The name speaks for itself
1B - Gehrig - Ended up 3rd on the all time RBI list and only played in 14 seasons. Would have ended up with over 2,600 if he played 20
LF - Williams - Missed 3 or 4 seasons in his prime to go to war. Last man to hit .400 in a season and had a .344 lifetime avg.
DH - Aaron - 755 lifetime home runs is no joke. Also a .300 lifetime avg.
3B - Schmidt - Most home runs in a season and a career by a third baseman while earning 3 MVP, 8 home run titles and 10 gold gloves
SS - Wagner - Batted well over .300 for his career and also had a very solid glove in the field.
C - Bench - Had a very good bat and excellent glove. A cannon for an arm.
P - Koufax - There are so many great pitchers but Sandy was the nastiest. 4 no hitters tells us that.

@@spacedude1145 If I was anymore chilled I would need a parka. There is nothing to chill out about. I was completely calm. I was only calmly pointing out where his obviously bias opinion didn't exactly add up to the best players at their positions. The ones I used were not of my opinion but in fact, the best players at their positions to have ever played. I guess this was just a favorite player at each position and not a real list. Saying in a very calm way while also wearing my winter jacket so no need to chill out. Have a nice day.
My all time post 2000’s team
1: CF, Mike Trout
2: LF, Ken Griffey JR
3: 1B, Albert Pujols
4: DH, Barry Bonds
5: 3B, Miguel Cabrera
6: SS, Alex Rodriguez
7: 2B, Derek Jeter
8: C, Yadier Molina
9: RF, Ichiro Suzuki
SP, Clayton Kershaw
RP, Aroldis Chapman
CP, Mariano Rivera
Coach, Terry Francona
Grubby Glumkin why have ichiro at 9?
Long Shot who do you put there instead? Yadi? You want a guy like Ichiro batting nine to give the top of the order a chance to move him around the bases
Great list, but how about Piazza or Ivan Rodriguez over Molina. Must say Molina is one of the best defensive catchers I've ever seen and his offense isn't too shabby either but I Rods offense is better and I think his defense is just as good as Molina.
Jeter is very overrated, 2b is Cano or Chase Utley.
P:Walter Johnson
CP: Lee Smith
CF:Ty Cobb
SS: Honus Wagner
DH: Babe Ruth
1B: Lou Gehrig
LF: Ted Williams
RF: Hank Aaron

Old school...I like it
The best baseball player of all time should be on here...
Joe Morelli uh i think he’s already on here
劉茂圻 this is more like it! I would’ve had Aaron in there somewhere.
37willdog good choices. Idk why Marc didn’t have hank Aaron or the babe
Babe Ruth needs to be in this lineup, but crafting an all time lineup with so many legendary players is sooooo hard.
Yeah Babe has to be in there and Lou Gehrig is also soooo close with Ted Williams
@@saucefan1 Lou Gehrig should be ahead of Albert pujols which is tough bc I rlly like Albert pujols
i dont think its overyly hard. Albert and Mike dont belong in the list. great hitters yes. but defense wings games-championships. end of story. i feel he had those 2 of if not 3,4 players missing. but its an opionion and its all in good fun.
@@FastDuDeJiunn wasnt Pujols fairly decent at 1st in his first 10 seasons?
@@saucefan1 ted willaims was a horrible fielder though
The problem is that Barry Bonds head takes up both the 3rd and 4th spot in the lineup
Fun list, I went a bit more old school:
SP: Walter Johnson
1)CF: Ty Cobb
2)RF: Tony Gwynn
3)LF: Babe Ruth
4)DH: Ted Williams
5)2B: Jackie Robinson
6)SS: Honus Wagner
7)1B: Lou Gehrig
8)3B: Mike Schmidt
9)C: Johnny Bench
Yes, one of these things is not like the others, but I wanted consistenncy from my number 2 hitter, and Tony was an all-time great at that, plus I couldn't leave my boy Tony off my all-time lineup, so he's my fanboy concession.
Wow love your list. My only two changes would be Al Kaline in RF and Roger Hornsby at 2nd
Good list but what about all time hit leader Pete Rose?
@@eduhred5341 An all time great utility man, he can fill in for any OF spot, or at 1B, 2B or 3B, play it competently with 100% effort. He's on my All-Time roster for sure, just doesn't quite crack my All-Time starting line-up.
1. When u we’re going over the lineups at the end u forgot to mention DH

My decision is based on my generation
RF Henderson
DH Gwynn
CF Griffey
LF Bonds
3B Schmidt
1B Brett
SS Ripken
2B Sandberg
C Rodriguez
James Stoops I agree with that
Mattingly over Brett
DHS Short Clips he was on my list plus Wade Boggs too
James stoops you have a pretty amazing lineup right here
very defense minded, I love it
You should look at Stan Musial at LF or 1st base. He was very, very good. He had a career .331 BA with 475 home runs, 725 doubles and 177 triples. 3 time MVP and a .984 fielding.
A career .984 fielder in the outfield isn’t the best. But Stan is definitely an honorable mention or maybe bench.
Musial could also DH or play right field
Musial is insanely underrated
Underrated player, and Imho, best player to ever live, Ty Cobb. He was a exception hitter, he had power, contact, speed, a vacuum of a glove, and a heck of an arm. Had a career batting average of .367, 117 homers, 892 stolen bases, a .946 OPS, and 1938 RBI’s. The dudes stats are stupid, but he just gets forgotten.
I mean I don’t know if he’s a better hitter than Ted Williams.

No the dream team should be the 2020 Mets lol 😂
No the 2020 Orioles with Jose Iggleasies as the team's best (aside from Mancini) player hitting 220
I would put Roberto Clemente as the RF.
Right field is a power spot witch he wouldn’t provide
@@I-am-Logan at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter, as long as you have a good spread of contact power defense and speed in your lineup.
Clemente had pretty good power but right field is already taken by Babe Ruth. No question about that. How do you not include a .342 lifetime avg with 714 home runs and something like 2,200 RBI's? Answer, you can't, he is in. He alone who accounted for 288 runs in one 154 game season for his team. He either scored or knocked in the run. In 1921 Ruth had 170 RBI's and scored 177 runs. He hit 59 home runs, had 46 doubles and 16 triples giving him 121 extra base hits while batting I think .373. He almost did that year in and year out. Ruth, Gehrig and Hornsby are without a doubt on the all time team at their positions. Probably Schmidt at third as well.
Ruth has right field locked up no question about it. Also there was this guy called Aaron who played in right.

Brandon B you still have to hit the ball with cam banging too. Good batters should have solid guess at what pitch is coming anyway. And I’d rather see a team cheat for one WS than a guy cheat for most of his career and end up holding multiple MLB records because of it.
Brandon B I would still put Griffey Jr. in the outfield than Bonds. Griffey was a ridiculous fielder runner and hitter. Bonds was only that when he was with the Pirates. No one wants Pirates Barry Bonds everyone wants Giants Barry Bonds

Slot in babe Ruth at pitcher and get another outfielder.
Pretty good list Marc, I understand taking Piazza since he's your favorite player (it's hard for me to leave Ichiro off my list!).
Pitcher: Sandy Koufax. Two-time World Series MVP, career 0.95 ERA in 7 World Series games. Plus he's a lefty so you get the advantage against righty hitters.
Leadoff: 2B Eddie Collins. Really fast (his 741 stolen bases are 7th in MLB history) and he got on base quite a bit and was also decent defensively. While he had a couple bad series, he also had 3 different World Series where he hit over .400.
2: CF Mickey Mantle. While Mays is faster and a superior fielder, Mantle's World Series hitting numbers are way better than Mays' and he had five different World Series where he had an OPS over 1.000.
3. DH Babe Ruth. IMO the best to ever do it, plus a .326/.470/.744 slash line over 167 World Series plate appearances.
4. 1B Lou Gehrig. One of the best hitters of all time turned it up even more in the postseason where he averaged .361/.483/.731 over 150 plate appearances. In 1928 he turned in one of the best hitting performances ever when he hit .545/.706/1.727, as he was walked 6 times and in his 11 at-bats he collected 6 hits; 4 of them were home runs.
5. RF Hank Aaron. The former home run king also hit 624 doubles and still has the career marks for RBI and total bases. In 17 playoff games he had a .362/.405/.710 slash line. He's only in the 5 slot because I thought it would make more sense to put a right-handed bat in between three lefties.
6. LF Barry Bonds. Love him or hate him, he was an excellent defensive player for a lot of his career and always had great power numbers. While his postseason numbers vary he was amazing in 2002 and so that clinches the spot for me.
7. 3B George Brett. While Mike Schmidt is the better defensive player, I just can't get past him putting up a .050/.050/.050 slash line in the 1983 World Series. Even in Brett's bad WS performance he still slugged .407, and he has a career 1.023 OPS in the playoffs.
8. SS Alan Trammell. He was a good offensive player who was really great on defense, as you expect from a shortstop (which is why no Derek Jeter). Trammell performed super well in the Tigers' 1984 playoff run, where he won World Series MVP after hitting .450/.500/.800.
9. Johnny Bench. The greatest catcher of all time, a great defender and he won the World Series MVP in an admittedly lopsided sweep of the Yankees in 1976.
Probably better than Marc’s
Leaving Willie Mays off a best player list is just wrong.

Darkshark 744 we haven’t seen him is the only thing
He played in a whites only league so it's kinda hard to see him getting in the lineup. The dude was playing in a league that was excluding some of the best talent in the world.
@@Jacobthekid28 So, did the pitchers in the Negro Leagues throw different pitches to the white players in the MLB? What you said is like saying Pele isn't that good cause he never played in Europe where all the best players were.
@@gordonmorton7551 I'm sorry but the game has been since 1947 and always will be about the best talent in the world not just the best white talent in the world. Decent lineup, but maybe a bit of home-town bias? Knowing your lineup, and trying not to use same players, I'd build a team as follows;
1. Players with best career averages against Johnson (and to be honest, the list is pretty short).
2. Players with above-average OBP.
3. Players who hit much better against lefties vs righties.
4. Players with low strike out rates.
5. Base stealers (to take advantage of Piazza behind plate).
For pitcher, I'd pick one that had best success against players in your lineup. Also, your lineup is prone to the strikeout, so I'd look for a high strike-out pitcher. Here's my lineup:
LF - Ichiro
2B - Morgan
CF - Dimaggio
1B - Pujols (sorry; he'll have to bat for both teams)
RF - Aaron
3B - Chipper Jones
DH - Musial
C. - Joe Torre
SS - Trammel
All good hitters, less prone to the strikout, with some speed mixed in. For pitcher, I'd go with Seaver, based on the success he had with a few in your lineup. Again, my lineup is premised on trying to beat your lineup; if my objective was different I'd choose different players.
Love these vids, please do the same thing, but with current players
4:34 there already is one #Trout
You can’t put Trout ahead of DiMaggio, Mays, or Griffey
Michael Minin Mike Trout is on pace to have a better career then DiMaggio and Griffey Jr.
Noah Davis not Bonds yet
Noah Davis On pace* Albert Pujols was on pace to break the home run record, what’s your point? Plus, DiMaggio and Griffey were better defensively than Trout. You also got to add that in.
Michael Minin So True. Mike Trout isn’t better than Bonds, Griffey, Aaron, Mays or DiMaggio in my opinion. Hell he’s still debatable against Ruth as well.
One problem I got with this, every player used Steroids
How ?
During steroid era pretty much but not in the time of like Ted williams
Yeah and that doesn’t miraculously make you a good player if you and I took roids we would still suck lmao
No way did Ted Williams take Steroids.
Here's thought, imagine if Ruth, Aaron or Mays had taken steroids. Now those numbers would be Crraazzzzy!
and if ruth played only played outfield and not pitcher he would have like 1000 home runs
TRU!
Rod Carew I think deserves 2B over cano
Joe Morgan
This guy is crazy for putting cano on this list. I can name a gazillion players better than Cano at second base.

Babe Ruth is amazing no doubt one of if not the best players of all time no questions asked
That’s why it’s so tough to put these things together...like Mickey Mantle would have been banned from baseball with the way he lived.
Sorry, no shade against your list, some all-time greats there excepting Cano, but this reasoning is garbage. Why call it an all-time team, if you're going to exclude a huge swath of players because of what time they happened to play in? You do realize in 20 years they'll be saying the same kind of stuff about Trout and Bonds, and it'll be no more stupid then then what you're saying now. Ruth played against everybody, white, black, japanese, and no matter who he faced, he was Ruth. There's no need to degrade super stars of the past in an attempt to raise up today's greats.
