I have everything mic'ed. Then it goes into a mixer. From there to the camera. No pro tools or anything like that. I rarely use EQ. I rely on the drums to sound as good as possible and then "fine tune" what I need to with the EQ on the console. Very minimal effort is put into these videos. Straight from my camera to you! Cheers. @metalmessenger his other bass drum (on left) is smaller i believe. It's all for another sound source, same principle goes for "why does he have so many cymbals, all you need is a hi-hat / crash "
all his cymbals are Meinl. He is using MB20 rock chinas (20" on the left, 18" on the right) and the one that is visible is a Generation X filter china (16")
If you mean, Why he uses two single pedals and a double pedal? its more likely he is using a smaller kick drum on the left, ( Jazz Fusion Style). So he can get two different sounds when he wants.
the other bass drum is tuned differently and not stuffed with anything to muffle it. that's why there's another pedal in front of it. he usually uses it for more groovy stuff
He has 4 pedals. a Sonar on left kick, an Axis AL-2 double bass pedal probably with E-Kits connected, and then another Sonar kick pedal on is right...so he has two pedals per kick drum.
@pnutskater96 i wonder that myself about his toms, strange setup, he pulls it off...not sure if he used the same setup for hate eternal or not though......
