The first three drummers all had triggers. He blows them out of the water for speed mic'ed up and blast blastbeats not only faster but louder than all the rest. His kicks are on a nuclear level and his blast beats are god-tier. What an amazing creature!
I laughed when I read this. I scrolled up and it was on a part where it was focused on his feet and you were right..... My chuckle went to shocked pretty quickly.
How can this have 1000+ dislikes lol... probably some jealous drummers or worthless haters. Even if you're jazz drummer or something like that, you can NOT appreciate his precision and consistency. George is one of the kings of death metal drumming, for real...
Admittedly George isn't my favourite drummer, I prefer drummers with a bit more "feel" like Herb from Primas or Brann Dailor of Mastodon but one thing I will say.. The foot speed on this guy is incredible!!
David Williams I can agree. One of my favorite metal drummers is Inferno from Behemoth. I feel like he does some interesting musical things instead of just playing fast. Behemoth does put a lot of focus on groove in their songs, though. It shows.
goddamn these comments are hilarious lol. But seriously that is by far the fastest quad pedaling ive even seen, his feet were turning blurry, the video framerate couldnt even capture how fast hes mashing them things.
You must be fucking new. George is very specific towards one genre only, ask him to play Slamming Death Metal, or Doom, bet you the guy can't play steady under 120 bpm.
Ok, if playing fast is a hallmark of being the best, he is up there for Sure,Playing with emotions is another thing... I hope so or else I quit playing drums.
Check out his jazz videos then if you doubt him. If you're gonna judge everyone's playing by looking at 1 video, you have a lot to learn about life, mate.
In his younger days he was know as the drummer that could make one kick pedal sound like doubles. He just got way better from there. So proud of this guy because he's one of my #1 drummers that influenced me to keep getting better too. 😃👍
People must now nothing of common logic. HOW CAN YOU PLAY AT HIGH SPEEDS WITHOUT TRIGGERS ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. Also triggers are more exact so if your off beat it's easy to tell versus regular bass is a little more muddy. Also they use triggers because they are playing so fast the beater doesn't have time to fully go back and get enough inertia or force to make a loud sound, there is barely any time to take the beater back in that amount of milliseconds at high speeds. So the trigger makes it audible.
xseq xqwe Sebastian techchannel Triggers are used for sound, not speed. Without triggers it would sound like splashing mud. So triggers make it audible but have nothing to do with skill or speed of the drummer.
Are you forgetting about quality of drums and pedals? You CAN drum that fast with practice and the right equipment. The quality of a drum can also distinguish how it sounds, how long the notes resonate, so think before you say he is amazing at what he does and made something of it, he became a legend and a hero to drummers including myself.
You can say it a million times, there are just people who hate triggers for whatever reason, and will always continue to (and they'll always comment about it, even on videos of insane drummers).
Most of you in this post are not correct. George doesn't use triggers. He is all power and precision. The clarity that you hear is from the gate and compression ratios, along with EQ. Every time George kicks, the beater comes back a full 45 degrees. He is a machine that uses skill instead of technologies. Watch any of his clinics, and he talks about the non-use of triggers specifically. He shows people in person how to get the sound and speed that he does. He developed the "circle" technique to aid in his playing to keep himself balanced, yet provide power and speed with the use of efficiency of motion.
Lars is way better and faster in his death metal band called metallica, check them out if you haven't heard of them they only have a few songs but they're way more technical than this beginner
See, you say that jokingly, but it actually is really close to that. I tapped with the beat as close as I could on beatsperminuteonline.com and no shit it actually stopped right at 666bpm. I even screenshotted it: imgur.com/a/g91ly9f
Anomalous Possession technically, he’s playing 32nd note subdivisions at 127 bpm, so he plays for a lot of the song at the rate of 1016 beats per minute
I love he using double rides. The only other drummer I know of that had double rides is The Rev. I, too, have double rides because why not. It allows my left hand to keep in time with the grooves and my right hand freely open to go around the drums and other cymbals without crossing arms. Such phenomenal playing by this dude.
lars is good....but not this good.... enough said...American thrash drumming doesn't compete. basically any tech death metal drummer blows lars away....im sorry, I know ur a late 70s, early 80s baby and wannny think lars was the shit, but YOURE wrong.....even when metallica debut there were already metal bands with drummers that blow lars away....death metal wasn't popular then...and besides...while metallica was starting, we had RUSH...those Canadians can PLAY an im sorry ( not really) but neil pert could smash on lars
Vadeboin Pierjan He was an intense guy, so he probably would be, especially if he had access to all the improved drum hardware. However, comparing different generations (in anything) is an awfully difficult task.
It is hard to compare generations. To me though, it is obvious that some of the guys out there are more technical (Donati, Lang, Collins, Minnemann, etc) or faster, especially the extreme metal guys like Flo, Kollias and Roddy (I left out musicality because it is subjective). Drumming today has surpassed the old generation. And it's alright. We should view Buddy's achievements as they are. He proved that drumming can be on the forefront of a band and that technique can go along music. Would he be proud? Totally : I can't see the godfather of drumming not being happy to see the instrument going forward and breaking the limits he established decades before. I least, that's how I would feel if I was him...
Felix Brousseau Well said. Comparing generations in almost anything is difficult. Take sports for instance, especially with improved coaching, training techniques and nutrition. I'm a big fan of the drummers you mentioned and I would add Gavin Harrison. He probably impresses me more than anyone right now.

His kicks are on a nuclear level and his blast beats are god-tier. What an amazing creature!
Inhumanly TASTEFUL. George is an amazing talent.
Anyone who has snotty comments.... where is your video?
It's sarcasm dude :)
No one can touch George, such a beast.
Nils Dominator
What a drum player man. Not because I'm Greek too, but because he is amazing. The guy is unstoppable
Μας κανεις ολους περηφανους Γιωργαρα μου :-)
είναι τυφώνας ο κερατας
He's playing too fast for the camera
I laughed when I read this. I scrolled up and it was on a part where it was focused on his feet and you were right..... My chuckle went to shocked pretty quickly.
How can this have 1000+ dislikes lol... probably some jealous drummers or worthless haters. Even if you're jazz drummer or something like that, you can NOT appreciate his precision and consistency. George is one of the kings of death metal drumming, for real...
Kollias girlfriend : I'm alone at home
Kollias : I'll be there
Thats why he played so fast
When his gf says kick me but you only have 5 mins.
I liked the 4/4 to 6/8 metric modulation at 3:45
there is no time i sit behind my drumset and this guitar riff doesnt comes to my mind !
U blow it away Malaka !!!
Fastest single footed blast, ever
new title: when you learn double bass with loose spring tension and you finally tighten it
Still blows my mind every time I watch this video. \m/
It shows.
Well, this band calls for an assault.. He plays Jazz aswell so he must've got some groove :D
Nile is a great, underrated band. Their work is fantastic!
goddamn these comments are hilarious lol. But seriously that is by far the fastest quad pedaling ive even seen, his feet were turning blurry, the video framerate couldnt even capture how fast hes mashing them things.
Triggered, not triggered.. i don't give a shit. George is the best metal drummer i've ever heared. Period.
not anymore... ruclips.net/video/451KzibdI4w/видео.html
pidigi ooooooouuuu joey do slipknot e o melhor simplesmente isso!!!!!!!!!!
Derek Roddy my friend
You must be fucking new. George is very specific towards one genre only, ask him to play Slamming Death Metal, or Doom, bet you the guy can't play steady under 120 bpm.
+internetwarrior666 are you high
Oh, look, just another speed drumm.....[face peels off and flips over headrest while chest caves in from the psi of George's bass drums]
generally, I just my top lip with my right hand and just rip it back over my face. you sir, took it to another level. I hope you're recovering well.
😫🤣😂🤣dude that image is fukin hilarious
In his younger days he was know as the drummer that could make one kick pedal sound like doubles. He just got way better from there. So proud of this guy because he's one of my #1 drummers that influenced me to keep getting better too. 😃👍
I just kept waiting for Nergal's lyrics to kick in. 10/10
I wonder what Buddy Rich would think of this ?
he'd flip shit about the dude's grip
He was a jerk so probably just talk shit about how this is not his style
Who cares? They are two completely different styles.
He take a shot and punch a hooker
He would tell him to put a suit on or tie or something
Awesome to see that the old guard is still crushing it by today’s standards.
o cara destrói na bateria, uma avalanche de técnicas é um monstro, sê é louco!!!!!
You can say it a million times, there are just people who hate triggers for whatever reason, and will always continue to (and they'll always comment about it, even on videos of insane drummers).
i always wondered how it worked.. Well now i know thanks
Damn, George should record his own solo album with those amazing songs!
the only drummer that I can think of with this level is Lars Ulrich...
you better be trolling
Lars is way better and faster in his death metal band called metallica, check them out if you haven't heard of them they only have a few songs but they're way more technical than this beginner
ikr . he is the best tehnical death metal drummer i've ever heard. 280 bpm bomb blast its like taking a walk for him.
lars is a fucking joke compared to this guy
jayce keffer ....that was the point jay
THE SPEED BEATS OF WINGS OF A HUMMINGBIRD!!!
I had no idea that in order for them to record tracks that it was a multi process of doing all these separately... Really cool too see this unfold.
Do the ripped jeans give more knee flexibility for the double bass drumming and blast beats?!?!
This is next level stuff, such a good drummer!!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the most valuable Greek export of the 21st century.
...and the only one!
We Greeks know better than anyone else that George is not only an amazing player but also mostly a humble man
I would like to see this in 60fps
The Word Grizzly You need 960ps for this one
if he keeps practicing he'll be semi decent in a few years maybe
MAYBE.
Quentin Minor probly not tho let's be real
Texan American He'll never be as good as Lars for sure
Quentin Minor I was speculating your sentiment
What's that supposed to mean?
Share this let's get 100 million views!!!
Me:So.... What's Your favorite instrument?
George :the machine gun...
Me:oh...
The greatest drummer ever 😍🤘🇬🇷
This guy is amazing. Every note is crisp and perfect. I dont understand. God
this sounds alot like Behemoth!
regardless I can still jam to this \,,/ >.< \,,/
okay he is fast... but... can he play smell like teens spirit?
Very impressed by george, and the drum set 🤘
666 bpm
*6666bpm
See, you say that jokingly, but it actually is really close to that. I tapped with the beat as close as I could on beatsperminuteonline.com and no shit it actually stopped right at 666bpm. I even screenshotted it: imgur.com/a/g91ly9f
@@thehourman37 Not it's not. it's 127 BPM
The Hour Man sir I regret to inform you this is very much not anywhere near 600 beats per minute
Anomalous Possession technically, he’s playing 32nd note subdivisions at 127 bpm, so he plays for a lot of the song at the rate of 1016 beats per minute
Him and Flo should do a drum project together
Take my money
I love he using double rides. The only other drummer I know of that had double rides is The Rev. I, too, have double rides because why not. It allows my left hand to keep in time with the grooves and my right hand freely open to go around the drums and other cymbals without crossing arms. Such phenomenal playing by this dude.
I saw Lars do this waaaay faster and effortlessly executed, this guy should study Lars to improve
Wow, look up the definition of sarcasm buddy.
iPlayDrums4You yeah this kid ain't smart enough to look up a word tho bro
Huh
lars is good....but not this good.... enough said...American thrash drumming doesn't compete. basically any tech death metal drummer blows lars away....im sorry, I know ur a late 70s, early 80s baby and wannny think lars was the shit, but YOURE wrong.....even when metallica debut there were already metal bands with drummers that blow lars away....death metal wasn't popular then...and besides...while metallica was starting, we had RUSH...those Canadians can PLAY an im sorry ( not really) but neil pert could smash on lars
dusty trousers Kollias takes a big dump on Lars.
Some of these guys out there now are incredible. Always curious what Buddy Rich would think about all this...
Maybe he would be one of them! One of the fastest !!
Vadeboin Pierjan He was an intense guy, so he probably would be, especially if he had access to all the improved drum hardware. However, comparing different generations (in anything) is an awfully difficult task.
given his old school Frank Sinatra-esque attitude, he probably hate it....but deep down he would admire it.
It's always a major blast watching you play!
I think this song is in minor though
just realized his eyes are closed holy shit man
