That being said, stans constantly using idols who have passed away to shield their untalented faves from criticism is disgusting. It's disingenuous as hell and a gross oversimplification of very tragic and complicated circumstances. Suicide should not be fanwar fodder and people who use it that way 100% do not actually give af about people dealing with mental health issues and are, more often than not, the ones that can't distinguish criticism from hate. Last week I saw someone call another fan a "potential accomplice to murder" over mild but totally justified criticism. Some of y'all really need stricter limits on your screentime.
i don’t understand the dozen one at all 😅 all 12 loona members are extremely talented and experienced and they’ve all grown so much since debut. they may not all be all-rounders, but they can all hold their own in solo performances as we know from everyone getting their own solo project pre debut- which obviously not everyone can do, so it’s super impressive that 12 people in one group are that talented.
The company did treat Gowon and Vivi as dozens. They never gave them proper lines. Vivi and Gowon can sing a whole solo song, then why not give them atleast a proper line.
@@vixxexo6855 yeah but that's the *company* mismanaging/mistreating them. bbc is notorious for mistreating all the members (hence the lawsuits and contract terminations..). just because the company never gave them their time to shine doesn't mean they aren't talented. we never truly got to see them in the spotlight after the solo projects (like 6 years ago..) until loossemble debuted last year
I agree that the fifty fifty members shouldn't get hate. But i think alot of people aren't aware that the original members and company are still in a lawsuit so any money earned from comebacks will most likely be used for this which will result in debt for the girls. That's the main reason for the boycott

My whole view on the lsf hate train is that the people that hate on them were never going to support them no matter what they did anyway. I always side-eye the parents who allow their 10-14 yr old kids to become a trainee. They're barely physically and mentally developed at that point and allowing them to become a trainee just seems so odd when they can do dancing, singing or whatever else in much less stressful environments on the other hand I understand not wanting to take away an opportunity for your child, I just think unless the kid is teenaged and has a more of a grasp on reality they shouldn't be allowed to train and there should be laws in place where the debut age is set legally at an appropriate age (16-18, international age). The only reason I'd go so low is that pre-teens tend to latch onto teenage acts rather than full adults and I believe that younger fans deserve their "own" idols but the caveat is that their work hours and who is around them should be heavily monitored in order for it to work
on the fifty fifty (re)debut-most of the hate is (in my opinion) being cast on the girls primarily because of how attrakt and companies in general tend to be very faceless and difficult to directly criticize because of that. it was also probably the new members’ last chance (or close to their last chance) to debut, and i think everyone is well aware of how desperate for debut trainees can be. i think that their joining attrakt and debuting in fifty fifty was done without malicious intent, and keena stayed with the label to try to pay off debts from what i know. it’s also important to note that there’s a chance these girls joined attrakt under the impression that they’d be debuting in a completely different group, but plans changed. regardless of this, i maintain that any content related to fifty fifty should be boycotted out of moral integrity. we don’t know what’s happening in that company right now. the members that left are still pursuing legal action. the boycott should come less from hate of the new members and more from just being a decent person. i’d also go as far as to say that the boycott is incredibly important due to how any releases that may come out of the new lineup will probably be streamed internationally because most people outside of the kpop fanbase just aren’t aware of what’s going on surrounding the group and their music. there needs to be at least some part of the audience that is refusing to support a project like this, especially with how the massive lineup changes effectively imply that labels just see idols-their employees-as interchangeable cash cows. there is no humanity to it. idk thats just my 2 cents :”)

About the hybe payola thing, I thinks its more noticable now than bwfore with western labels also scalling back certain promo to focus on viral marketing. Honestly this sounds dumb but I recently went to a coldplay concert with my mom and we talked about how she experienced music in the 90is. What some people call payola now, was literally expected from label to do, to get their artists out there. Basically if you are the artist that is the biggest in that label and they arent doing that, the vibe was: what are ypu doing, this is your job. I think about that a lot with the convo people have about a company promoting in kpop
i agree with you on KATSEYE, i think marketing to kpop stans is a natural and safe strategy to consider, specially since they're just starting. the diversity of ethnicities of the members is also a huge plus for this, seeing as the kpop fandom is very diverse globally, as well as mostly female. i think a lot of fans get excited with the prospect of seeing a person like themselves debut in a kpop-like group, because they never saw it as a possibility before. if they establish a strong fan base from the kpop fandom, they could be able to pivot to other areas with the proper promo!
18:52 Speaking as someone who loves boy groups, I think the reason why we use the "see, it's not just noise music" is because boy groups are constantly disregarded in terms of artistry (music, concept, etc...) and reduced to be one dimensional by toxic gg stans and one of the most common ways they do this is by declaring that they are only "noisy" in a negative light. For example: my favorite group is Stray Kids, I love love their louder, noisy music and I wouldn't want it any other way, but they also have more diversity and complexity than people may let you believe and I want that to be recognized and respected as well. Long story short, this is just a common way we fans have to fight these wrong assumptions and how there is richness, creativity and layered artistry in boy groups as well (btw there's nothing wrong with not liking boy groups, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to forms of art, like music. We can respect each other's tastes, at the very least)

the loona members are the only idols i stan and the only reason i ever got into k-pop, i love them all and their entire discography from pre-debut to all post bbc releases, but i definitely agree that loossemble one of a kind was not that great. girls night is AMAZING and one of my favorite loona tracks of all time, but the b-sides just arent great imo, while their debut was phenomenal. ttyl teasers so far sound really interesting and im very excited, so i hope the b-sides are good this time too edit: also calling them dozens is crazy to me because all the members were crucial to the concept and music, bbc just underutilized some of the girls (specifically the loossemble members) but i think theyve improved a lot over the years and are finally getting their chance to shine in a smaller group. overall while i was heartbroken about everything that happened under bbc and after chuu's removal, im so grateful for it and all the content we've gotten since has been amazing. im seeing artms in october and hopefully the rest if they ever come to europe (again, anyway, i saw 9 out of 12 back in 2022 in warsaw) :)

If you have any apple device, garageband has a piano you can use and it does have the note C6 labelled so you can play and listen to its pitch

I disagree that the members should be to blame in any way, though. ~21 is still way too young to be making career-altering decisions in the entertainment industry, and especially considering the Korean media largely settled in favor of the company I’ll have to do more research into what happened and what’s going on and approach this with more consideration in the future, but I agree that a boycott/protest against the company over what has happened will always be necessary, especially considering the three members who left are likely going to have a very hard time promoting in Korea. Its not bad necessarily. its just used to describe a group that is unpopular or unknown to the majority of kpop fans/ general public. Because these groups tend to be from small companies, any group from a small company sometimes inaccuratly get called nugu, like in the case of Kiss Of Life. They are from a small company but they are definitly not unpopular or unknown.
Under 20? That's just you controlling someones life. 18 minimum, HOWEVER there should be a basic legal training they should complete before signing contracts administered by the government and legal representation. So you would be 17 when you start studying for it and 18 by the time it's finished. Contracts should be 2-3 years maximum as to not trap members and rule out taking another career path. Not much more than the average required military service for males. The reason 17-18 is fine is because the average person can start and be in a band (non idol) at almost any age and build a following. You can book gigs at cafes, small festivals,busk independently (usually not bars). 20 is an arbitrary number and doesn't guarantee you magically understand the world. That sounds like moral grandstanding rather than an actual solution.That's why minimal legal training/briefing and protection should be required to sign and debut. Similar to a college entrance exam or a semester course. That's the only real guarantee and safe guard REGARDLESS of age.

I always side-eye the parents who allow their 10-14 yr old kids to become a trainee. They're barely physically and mentally developed at that point and allowing them to become a trainee just seems so odd when they can do dancing, singing or whatever else in much less stressful environments on the other hand I understand not wanting to take away an opportunity for your child, I just think unless the kid is teenaged and has a more of a grasp on reality they shouldn't be allowed to train and there should be laws in place where the debut age is set legally at an appropriate age (16-18, international age). The only reason I'd go so low is that pre-teens tend to latch onto teenage acts rather than full adults and I believe that younger fans deserve their "own" idols but the caveat is that their work hours and who is around them should be heavily monitored in order for it to work
on the fifty fifty (re)debut-most of the hate is (in my opinion) being cast on the girls primarily because of how attrakt and companies in general tend to be very faceless and difficult to directly criticize because of that. it was also probably the new members’ last chance (or close to their last chance) to debut, and i think everyone is well aware of how desperate for debut trainees can be. i think that their joining attrakt and debuting in fifty fifty was done without malicious intent, and keena stayed with the label to try to pay off debts from what i know. it’s also important to note that there’s a chance these girls joined attrakt under the impression that they’d be debuting in a completely different group, but plans changed.
regardless of this, i maintain that any content related to fifty fifty should be boycotted out of moral integrity. we don’t know what’s happening in that company right now. the members that left are still pursuing legal action. the boycott should come less from hate of the new members and more from just being a decent person. i’d also go as far as to say that the boycott is incredibly important due to how any releases that may come out of the new lineup will probably be streamed internationally because most people outside of the kpop fanbase just aren’t aware of what’s going on surrounding the group and their music. there needs to be at least some part of the audience that is refusing to support a project like this, especially with how the massive lineup changes effectively imply that labels just see idols-their employees-as interchangeable cash cows. there is no humanity to it.

About the hybe payola thing, I thinks its more noticable now than bwfore with western labels also scalling back certain promo to focus on viral marketing. Honestly this sounds dumb but I recently went to a coldplay concert with my mom and we talked about how she experienced music in the 90is. What some people call payola now, was literally expected from label to do, to get their artists out there. Basically if you are the artist that is the biggest in that label and they arent doing that, the vibe was: what are ypu doing, this is your job.

i agree with you on KATSEYE, i think marketing to kpop stans is a natural and safe strategy to consider, specially since they're just starting. the diversity of ethnicities of the members is also a huge plus for this, seeing as the kpop fandom is very diverse globally, as well as mostly female. i think a lot of fans get excited with the prospect of seeing a person like themselves debut in a kpop-like group, because they never saw it as a possibility before. if they establish a strong fan base from the kpop fandom, they could be able to pivot to other areas with the proper promo!
18:52 Speaking as someone who loves boy groups, I think the reason why we use the "see, it's not just noise music" is because boy groups are constantly disregarded in terms of artistry (music, concept, etc...) and reduced to be one dimensional by toxic gg stans and one of the most common ways they do this is by declaring that they are only "noisy" in a negative light. For example: my favorite group is Stray Kids, I love love their louder, noisy music and I wouldn't want it any other way, but they also have more diversity and complexity than people may let you believe and I want that to be recognized and respected as well. Long story short, this is just a common way we fans have to fight these wrong assumptions and how there is richness, creativity and layered artistry in boy groups as well
(btw there's nothing wrong with not liking boy groups, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to forms of art, like music. We can respect each other's tastes, at the very least)

the loona members are the only idols i stan and the only reason i ever got into k-pop, i love them all and their entire discography from pre-debut to all post bbc releases, but i definitely agree that loossemble one of a kind was not that great. girls night is AMAZING and one of my favorite loona tracks of all time, but the b-sides just arent great imo, while their debut was phenomenal. ttyl teasers so far sound really interesting and im very excited, so i hope the b-sides are good this time too
edit: also calling them dozens is crazy to me because all the members were crucial to the concept and music, bbc just underutilized some of the girls (specifically the loossemble members) but i think theyve improved a lot over the years and are finally getting their chance to shine in a smaller group. overall while i was heartbroken about everything that happened under bbc and after chuu's removal, im so grateful for it and all the content we've gotten since has been amazing. im seeing artms in october and hopefully the rest if they ever come to europe (again, anyway, i saw 9 out of 12 back in 2022 in warsaw) :)

If you have any apple device, garageband has a piano you can use and it does have the note C6 labelled so you can play and listen to its pitch

I disagree that the members should be to blame in any way, though. ~21 is still way too young to be making career-altering decisions in the entertainment industry, and especially considering the Korean media largely settled in favor of the company
I’ll have to do more research into what happened and what’s going on and approach this with more consideration in the future, but I agree that a boycott/protest against the company over what has happened will always be necessary, especially considering the three members who left are likely going to have a very hard time promoting in Korea. Because these groups tend to be from small companies, any group from a small company sometimes inaccuratly get called nugu, like in the case of Kiss Of Life. They are from a small company but they are definitly not unpopular or unknown.

Under 20? That's just you controlling someones life. 18 minimum, HOWEVER there should be a basic legal training they should complete before signing contracts administered by the government and legal representation. So you would be 17 when you start studying for it and 18 by the time it's finished. Contracts should be 2-3 years maximum as to not trap members and rule out taking another career path. Not much more than the average required military service for males. The reason 17-18 is fine is because the average person can start and be in a band (non idol) at almost any age and build a following. You can book gigs at cafes, small festivals,busk independently (usually not bars). 20 is an arbitrary number and doesn't guarantee you magically understand the world. That sounds like moral grandstanding rather than an actual solution.That's why minimal legal training/briefing and protection should be required to sign and debut. Similar to a college entrance exam or a semester course. That's the only real guarantee and safe guard REGARDLESS of age.
