Accusing someone who's critiquing your favs of having "low standards" isn't the argument people think it is. Like, what does it say when I have such low standards and this idol still doesn't measure up?
This can actually be said like "You have low standards, that's why you don't feel this artist" too. I mean good reply but I'm pretty sure that most people are using the argument with this meaning and it's also right.
@@RUKA_BABYMONST7R I never said it wasn't. I just said there's no difference between what you and the commenter said despite you trying to correct him. did you get dropped on your head when you were a baby or smth ?
You pointed out so many things about stage presence and facial expressions on stage that I never noticed :) I also figured that Asa was the best performer, and couldn’t quite understand why Chiquita and Ahyeon’s performances (facial expressions in particular) were a bit off. You’ve explained everything nicely. Thank you!
To the ppl who say “ it’s better than under performing “..no it’s not. You need to find the balance, that’s literally why you’re an idol. The way she dances just doesn’t match the song either
I agree. In a group over or under is a weakness. Cohesive is the point. Go solo if you want to do your own thing or show off. It’s not a good look for that person imo
@@Yourdailydoseofsarcasm I understand that she needs to dance like the other members in the Dance Performance, MV etc (she does) but I think it's okay to have fun and dance with more energy on stage...
Thank you for talking about this. I saw fan cams and people in the comments would keep saying that people are dramatic for thinking she is over performing. When Ahyeon toned down, she toned down to much. I feel she needs to find a balance in the middle. Since she is a very new idol, there is a lot of room for improvement. When she tones it down, she takes everything that made the performance fun and bad away. When she tones it back up and puts everything bad and good back in front of your face. Balance is so so so important. Luckily for Ahyeon, she is in a 7 member group so she isn’t immediately labeled as a wannabe soloist compared to if she was in a 4 member group. Ahyeon is new and just needs more training and more experience in a industry. (I apologize if any of my grammar is poor, it’s 10 AM for me and I’m on a road trip with 1 hour of sleep.)
Maybe when you spend money to see them perform like those who do then you'll find yourself in the vast minority. Otherise, your claim is as solid as anyone accusing your of wasting oxygen.
She's back to her energetic self and belting with all her might in the Kobe fanmeet. It's a BIG FU to all her "constructive criticism" and the cesspool who actually believed she'd tone down over them lol. The Seoul Finale is next and she's going to explode performing her first concert in her home country.
Ahyeon was def overperforming, like when ur in a group you have to be synchronized so the criticism was definetly valid. Also, the shouting was really annoying,I really like the way she's peforming now that she is synchronized cm with the members.

Underperforming sucks, but overperforming also sucks. The point is that there is a balance that you need to match, especially in the rap part of Sheesh, where they're a duo. 3:19 Hold up, "Mentahyeoned?"
@blueberrysblues everglow up said that since the captions picked up ahyeon as ion, everglow up made it so that ion would automatically correct to ahyeon. But the filter made everything that had the letter I, o, and n turn to ahyeon

I just noticed a pretty big error in the video. When doing the captions, I used the "find and replace" tool to exchange "ion" with Ahyeon" since that was the way the captions were picking up her name. I didn't notice that it replaced EVERY word with the letters " i o n" in it. lmao, I'm really sorry about that. will double check next time 😭
as a MONSTIEZ and a ahyeon bias i’ve noticed the over performing ever since their evolutions before debut. but let me tell you once she learns how to balance herself she will definitely be the best performer of her generation 100%. her potential and passion is insane
I legit agree. Ahyeon being one of my tops I love how she performs she (like all the other members) is unique. But she needs to find her balance. That being said she doesn't deserve hate, js some constructive criticism! She's a rookie and she's new. She's passionate about her job and I hope she doesn't lose her spark. She has so much room and time for improvement. You got this Ahyeon!
"Best performer of her generation " have you even seen other 5th gen idol performer they are much better and aldreay so good ....so stop over exaggerating everything
it's more like san in ateez's imo. both san and ahyeon are good performers, but when it takes away from the group performance and synchronization, that's when it's an issue
Jihyo is known as God Jihyo for her excellent stage presence. Ahyeon is a good performer but she needs to tone down her dancing ( I didn't mean to say that she should underperform ) . I am glad that she is taking the criticism in a positive way . I love her passion and dedication towards her job . It means that she takes her job as an idol seriously.
Talking about a rap duo, i know blackpink is more commerical but I really like lisa and jennie's chemistry. Their individual stage presence differs so much but their chemistry together is a treat to watch. Atleast for me.
I've seen people comparing the similar complaints of "lazy dancing." I'd say that's valid since the level of micromanagement is insane amongst Knetizens.

@@nidemens your opinion doesn't matter here. and no one is forcing you to agree. cuz beauty is subjective. and that person was saying it according to kbs. not from everyone's pov
Honestly it's understandable in my opinion. Ahyeon is over performing BECAUSE she is new. She is excited to be a performer and I think its okay considering She has fixed it now and seems more sycronised. However apparently now people are calling her lazy for toning down. Idk much about this situation, I was on the really positive side of Ahyeon's overdancing where people agreed and were surprisingly very mature about it and also said it's understandable because she is new.
@@garimasuhani7227 Performing for evaluation in front of a few judges is different from performing on stage in front of thousands of people. These girls only just debuted less than a year ago, so they are still very new in this industry. As they keep performing together, they will eventually find the right balance, but it might takes a few years to get there.
@@inplane9970 camila and her fans literally gaslighted everyone into believing that she’s the talented main character and other members are just jealous of her💀
Ahyeon is just so excited to finally be in her idol era… she’s learning as she goes but she needs to not let it get into her head too much as to where she is underperforming like no take criticism and just enjoy yourself because now you’ll be looking for attention being the “lazy dancer”
Thank you for pointing out Rosé’s tendency of doing her moves differently than others. I’ve noticed that especially in HYLT performance, but somehow nobody pointed some of her dances as a mistake.
when you said "it's almost like she's not doing anything and then she remembers 'i'm on stage and i need to perform'".....i honestly think that's it. the other members comment on how she's notorious for flipping her hair and zoning out. it lowkey makes me worried about her, esp because she debuted late for mental health reasons :(
@@fanofbagels she had said multiples times she zones out a lot so that's why it's like when she is dancing she gets a burst of energy out of nowhere . Could be her mental health issues as well. I'm sure she will find a balance as long as she keeps growing and learning.
[Beware, long ass comment below] I feel like some fans don't accept a drop off criticism about Ahyeon's performance because they may feel like "the haters won," but I should remind them that two things can be true at the same time. NO, she doesn't deserve threats, insults, hate, and everything that she received, BUT she was, in fact, overperforming. YES, overperforming exists. If the choreo says, "lift your leg in an L position up to your hip" but you kick so hard your leg ends up straight and over your waist, the dance is going to look messy and you're going to look uncoordinated compared to the rest of the group. It seems that Ahyeon has a problem managing her energy since even the director of the MV told her to tone down a bit her expressions during the filming. She's just a teenager, she'll learn with time and experience. I also feel that over the time, idols have been receiving so much unjustified hate that now fans jump even at valid times of criticism just to protect them, but people need to identify the valid points of certain criticism, or more idols will become like Sakura and her inability to accept that she needs to improve and not just and exclusively have fun on stage independently of the audience experience.
Your comment deserves to be pinned! This is exactly how i feel about Ahyeonah and i'm a die-hard Hyeonie🧸❤️🔥🍯. i agree with every word💯 We just wanna protect her, but know that she has to improve in certain areas. And yes, there is such a thing as over-performing. And yes, Ahyeon did that at times. i liked it though💀 Edit: P.s. Your disclaimer at the beginning is sending me for no reason😂
@wunmiidris7871 Thank you! I feel like she's a great idol, but like every rookie (and even veterans) she needs some polishing, but she can't improve if we just blindly clap at everything she does. I really want to see her finding balance in the future👏
YG told her to do a specific step with less energy during the Dance Performance (which is normal since they must be "perfect" in the MV, Dance Performance...) but in my opinion it's okay to over perform on stage because she's just enjoying it. Btw of course I respect your opinion ❤
I used to perform with someone similar in a school band, and we were constantly criticised because our vocalists (there were 3 or 4 at a time including me) were not performing cohesively and one member was just screeching. She often tried to sing louder than us or just loudly in general, and she just ended up screaming. And even then she was labelled as passionate, and the rest of the band just had to deal with it and try and figure out how to make the song sound good. Last straw was when she started singing all of the wrong lyrics in the wrong order, other vocalists tried to sing with her, correcting her and taking over to put the song back on track (this was a live performance on stage) but she continued to sing the wrong lyrics confidently, increasing her volume so no one could hear the rest of us, and we all were just kind of stood there not knowing what to do. Over performing doesn't mean someone isn't talented, it simply means they need to tone it down and blend in so they can give a satisfactory performance. Because at the end of the day you are letting your team down.
chiquita is praised for being an amazing performer and while she's def talented I also think her facial expressions feel very over the top a lot. the dance break in forever is a good example of what I mean, asa's rap sounds smooth and cool while chiquita is dancing very forcefully and aggressive and it feels off. ahyeon is performing a lot better now after the critques, though I do think its weird how ahyeon and chiquita are regarded as the "most born to be idols" out of the group, YG clearly has an agenda of who he plans on making superstars and his bias has seeped into the general publics to where they're blinded to any flaws these girls might have
I agree most people are not judging the actual performance...they are judging the performance based on the pre narrative that yg created...which sucks yk...cuz yg is so freaking biased towards ahyeon, Chiquita, pharita.,ever since their last evaluation
@@Sammmm85 ikr .im a asa bias but i just feel sad to see rora's potential is being wasted ..yeah in fanmeet batter up they gave 90% rami's linee and centertime to ahyeon ..which was kinda weird yk...i hope in full album ot7 would get to shine equally..
Nah because these behaviors will cause BM to have the same solo stan problem as BP. They are young and hopefully will be able to improve based on this criticism.
I get the sense that Ahyeon doesn't know HOW to control her energy. She has the ability to refine her craft, but she might've debuted too early. Given another 2-3 years to really train and control her talent, Ahyeon would've been a perfectly polished artist. Unfortunately, she's a bull in a china shop right now. She has the most potential in Baby Monster along with Chiquita, but they haven't finished their training imo. Btw, I totally agree Asa is the best performer in BM. I wasn't too keen on her initially, but after watching their Forever stages, I realized she has complete control over her aura. Girl doesn't need to try hard, yet her monstrous confidence and talent just oozes out of her eyes.
I feel she's always been compared to Jennie, which is why she feels an immense pressure to give it girl energy. She's a talented a young lady, but yeah, you're right, she just needs time. Fans are putting a lot of pressure on her from the get go. She's just a bb and learning.
I'm so happy see another stage presence video again. I'd love a video discussing only soloists in this topic or a more detailed analysis on idols who have improved their stage presence (perhaps include ones who were part of your stage presence struggle bus video if appropriate).
I love listening to your thoughts and video essays. It's refreshing to hear someone using critical thinking and giving genuine perspectives on various topics, rather than following the herd mentality. Most videos claiming to present 'unpopular opinions' often lack research, individual thoughts, and seem to be made just for shock value.
ASA IS THE ONE WHO GOT ME INTO KPOP...Ever since i started watching their fancams..i enjoyed ASA'S fancam the most., im glad you talked about asa's phenomenal stage presence people are sleeping on her sp.she is the most consistent performer of the group, has great control over her expressions, great camera awareness, has the best theotrical presence in the group..also i love how she can match their vibes ..when she is dancing next to pharita she can match her elegant dancing, whereas when dancing with ahyeon she can match her energetic dancing as well..asa has the type of swag which is effortlessly cool 😎., she is the most versatile in the group too..she can be elegant, cool, sensual, powerful.especially in her look alive remix performance she is so cool...she can sing, dance, rap, compose songs..she is such a ACE fr ❤❤... ACESA THE WOMAN YOU ARE ❤
I've been seeing a boat load of Ahyeon stans labeling everything they see hate, when in fact Ahyeon IS overdoing it. But in time she can improve, I really can't wait to see how much she grows. ❤😊
I strongly agree with this, as they work as a group, the balance is really the crucial part they need to fix to make the performance looks better, I hope they learn better and better because there so much potential for babymonster in every aspect
people sometimes forget that she is in a group , her way of performing would not be a big problem if she was a soloist but as a group member you have to find balance your style can be diff but the energy should match the group , also for the expressions I dont know its just sometimes weird they are really inconsistent , when she is good she delivers but when she is not its just not good same goes for chiquita . Also , soo glad people are appreciating Asa
i was gaslighting my self that maybe I'm the one in the wrong because I really didn't enjoy Ahyeon in Sheesh since everyone was praising her. her high notes rubbed me in the wrong way. forever is better tho
I'd rather another member got the Sheesh high note more icl but it was nice seeing her get the note on her first release. I want Ahyeon to find her balance and get high notes later in her career so she can properly 'prove' herself as a performer. She is good, yes, but she can get better which we've already seen in Forever as you've pointed out already.
"Shielding idols from criticism is not wise when you want them to be the best in what they do" Louder for the people at the back. Criticism is not equal to hate. I love Ahyeon, I really do. Her fancams are good because she's the focus. But if you watch her performance (specifically Like That) with the rest of the girls, it's messy. It's good that she seems to be working on this. She's young and promising. Also, I love you for pointing out Chiquita's area of improvement - her facial expression. I really cannot watch her fancams. Lookjng at her facial expressions is jarring. I hope someone is guiding her properly.
In addition to her overperfoming, Ahyeon's lack of control over her power causes her to do completely different moves. I think she knows that she uses too power as in music videos she tones down her dance and facials so that it fits the other members. I think she does it on purpose during perfomances as no one can really stop her or tell her to calm down unlike in MV shouts.
Very well said. Glad someone make a video addressing this situation cz it has become a situation where we don't want to get involved because there're 2 toxic parts debating on this. Each and every word you said is very well balanced with no hate. Thanks for the video. I think those toxic fans should listen to this video from the beginning to the end.
Ahyeon's over performing shows a lack of musicality. She is not dancing in a way that fits the music, and often rushes when she hits certain movements too hard. I think part of the problem could be Baby Monster's concept. It's very hard-hitting and girl crush, and I think Ahyeon has a very one-dimensional view on how to perform.
she's still a rookie idol, she needs more practical stage performance to work with the group to understand her role and position in order to enhance the group's performance, then she will shines with her talents more and more, just give her room to grow, she will surprise you
another thing i don't like is after she got criticism for overperforming, she intentionally underperformed and her fans called her savage but honestly it's just plain petty and immature. yeah, yeah she's a minor but come on? she chose this path. being an idol is a job so I feel like people asking her to do her job right is extremely valid but she responds so unprofessionally.
She doesn't know how to stay balanced. Damn also some of her stans trying to make her look like a victim. But I'm sure she's aware of what she's doing atleast when she re watches their performance. There's something between overdancing and under dancing. If you are successful in maintaining that balance that's what makes u the talented idol.
I felt this way as well. I kept seeing videos saying Chiquita and Ahyeon were baby monsters best performers. But I've always seen them as Baby Monsters middle of the road performers better than say Rora or Pharita (who are both actually pretty good) but not as good as Rami, Ruka and Asa. This makes a lot of sense because Chiquita really does sometimes feel all over the place especially in Forever. Also since Rami and Ahyeon share parts in Like That and Forever, it actually feels all the more obvious how much more precision and control Rami has. The performances of OT6 batter up have always seemed stronger than OT7, in part because Rami was a much more balanced center and her energy wasn't off putting. I guess I just feel like Asa (and Ruka) are the standouts and Rami balances them with the rest of the group which has not quite perfected it's performance craft.
Yeah...that's why I think ruka and ASA rapping as a duo works better than ruka and ahyeon cuz ruka and asa has that kinda chemistry when rapping together even though they have different rap styles...ASA follows the rhythm that ruka sets instead of overpowering..also asa smoothly transitions into the 2nd pre chorus by altering the rhythm of her rap..which is so satisfying...
@@jagadeeswarirajesh6486 I agree I really like either rora -> rami vocal connections or rami pharita vocal work for the same reason the three just have great chemistry together

If we are "hating" for telling Ahyeon to calm down a bit since it makes the groups looks unbalanced. Than is Yang Hyun Suk also hating on her for telling her to tone it down as well? The guy who created the group.
Y'all clearly dont understand what YG said to Ahyeon 😅 that's the same person and the same video he said be energetic lmao 😅 and this was the same person who said to them be LOUD so the audience will get hype 😅
Personally again I repeat PERSONALLY her tone is really whinny , i don’t like it (her tone) I think she should not be in the rap line or be let to have the higher notes. Her tone is just too whiny for those parts.
Its actually crazy how silly people are. Ahyeon needs to stop thinking she needs to reach Jennie's level and be herself. She needs to match the pace of the team not make them seem like they are underperforming. Tbh she'd do so much better without rap lines. Ruka and Asa definitely fit that role and there is no need for another one who mostly screams than rapping. Either way, anyone saying its not true, just refuse to see and open their eyes and ears. We dont hate Ahyeon, we just comment on her exaggerated performances.
tbh I'm not a fan of her vocals either she just naturally has a screechy tone it's very obvious YG is tryna push her as an all rounder and I find it very unfair to the rap duo ruka asa and Rami rora as well who are clearly more skilled and have controlled techniques while singing high notes ahyeon just ends up screaming and her natural tone being that way makes it sound 10 times worse she is talented when she sings in mid range higher ranges bring the worst out of her tone
@@wioletwoes I agree. Not to say Ahyeon isn't talented (she is) but I think other members (particularly Asa) are better suited to be an all rounder and Ahyeon needs just a little bit more control over her vocals because I find she ends up forcing highr notes too much and strains her voice. I defend San's overperforming because it fits the songs and doesn't ruin the group's chemistry, Ahyeon on the other hand makes BBM look unorganized and out of sync. literally the most important thing about dancing in a group is being in sync
@@Francheska291 What exactly is misogynist about op's comment? They're right. Ateez have an intense concept and music, so San's "Overperforming" suits Ateez. Not only that but he doesn't "overperforms" to the point that it messes with the group's chemistry. He never looks out of place during any of their performances. Can't say the same about Ahyeon. San also got hate for overperforming. Stans complained, saying he looked possessed, cringy, and even dragged his stans for defending him. Since then, he’s toned it down a bit and improved his stage presence a lot, fitting in better with the group. So no, this is not a gender issue. 🙄
First of all, I like Ahyeon as much as the others BM who are among the best of their generation. That said, your analysis is very "eye opening": it is not her having more "passion" (what I tought first) but her being unaware of presence mistakes she does on stage (and by the way, she doesn't overperform in any MV). I hope the staff will help her to improve it quickly and that we will get to see all of them shine on stage.
kpop stans (4thgen,3thgen) got use to covid contents (pre recorded stage, no audience stage, fancams, tiktoks) but now that we have concert, fanmeet, lives, festivals, we can see and hear who stick out in a good or a bad way. Performing at inkigayo where idols have an individual facecam and close up shots is different than performing at their fanmeet: there'll be close ups of their face on the big screen during their part but most of the audience will focus on the full group performing on the stage. if it doesn't look cohesive then it's a bad performance for the whole group.
Yeah regardless, a CEO's opinion isn't the most reliable. They're not the ones overseeing the individual performances and how each member does in a group. If anything, the ones who choreographed the dance has the best opinion on how much energy should be in the dance.

i agree with every second of this video. you said all of the things i've been wanting to say for a while lol. ahyeon has good facial expressions but for stage presence, timing plays a great role too. during their sheesh's performances, sometimes it felt like she was performing as a soloist. i'm glad that yang hyunsuk talked about it though. its not just the facial expressions but also her dance or i would say how she expresses some movements. babymon is still a new group, i'm not a fan but i look forward to their future plans a lot bc they are really talented. babymonster has a long future ahead and i'd love to see what more they can showcase. i hope ahyeon doesn't take the criticism to heart and just see it as a weakness which needs to be improved.
Many idols need to understand the song they are performing more cus some idols you can tell they don’t really get the lyrics. Ahyeon overpreforming shows how much she doesn’t understand the song and how certain sound mood should affect her dance and face. Like that have a very casual sound to it so her doing so much with her facials and her moves make her look messy and aggressive. Especially cus she is an attention grabber anyway so for her to do a lot anyway when she stands out anyway just makes the group look like they can’t preform together. Love the video Ofcourse

I always felt something was off about Ahyeon. You actually put it into words. This whole video basically proves that these subtleties can have a big impact on casual enjoyers like me.
Ahyeon is a great performer but she definitely needs to learn to match her group. She could learn a thing or two from Lisa: she's objectively the best performer and dancer in Blackpink, yet you never catch her unsynchronized with her group's energy or overperforming, which is something she could easily do. She understands her member's strengths and weaknesses and matches accordingly. So in conclusion there's definitely room to grow for Ahyeon, and I'm just glad to see a 5th gen idol having fun on stage. Will continue to tune into baemon's stuff to see their improvement
Thank you for pointing out Chiquita is overperfoming with her facial expressions! I've honestly have been trying to point it out with when I saw the MVs for Batter Up and Sheesh (I've never seen them perform live and mygod she really is cringe).
Her expressions in Forever are the cringiest especially at Asa's rap part. It was really weird, she's making sexy expressions when we know she's 14 or 15.
Very well said and explained perfectly! Ahyeon needs to understand the importance of balance, when she tones it down, she tones down too much and takes the fun away from a good performance look, she almost has no facial expressions. Then when she tones it up, shes over-doing it again. As time passes, she will understand soon and refine her skills and she will be a great performer as time comes!
Dude, I really wish that Ahyeon finds a balance between overperforming and underperforming. JUST READ THE STAGE PRESCENCE AHYEON!! Also when I heard the dance coach say Ahyeon had control, I was pissed because Ahyeon clearly does not know how to find balance between energy and relaxed dance moves
You are not a professional dancer to begin with. And actual real people. Who watch them love the way she performance. She not a robotic. Idols who will just do the same fccking routine it boring and lifeless at the end of the day Ahyeon know how to enjoy the stage which y'all ba hating but actual people who went and paid and professional people loves her talent and skills and her stage presence no wonder she always have the loudest crowd.

Ahyeon and Chiquita are good performers but it just looks like they're trying too hard. Ahyeon has too much energy. Chiquita's facial expressions are weird. She's so young and trying to be sexy. I think their concept doesn't suit them. They are so young and trying to look cool and bad ass when they're not. Off stage, Ahyeon is shy and Chiquita is funny. YG needs to do better.

@@Sammmm85 imo I think Ahyeon is a good rapper. The thing is that her rapping style doesn’t fit every song. I thought her rap in Sheesh was fine but in Forever it felt out of place. Yes, Ahyeon is overperforming and now ive kind of seen a lot of people saying shes underperforming. But lets remember, 1: shes 17 years old which is not a lot and she probably struggles a little to take critisism, ESPECIALLY when the critisism has been the way it has been. From what ive seen people have been so, so mean to her and im so fucking tired of ppl hiding hate in «critisism»
great that was effortless and smooth, I hardly understand stage presence and ur vids explaining helps a lot and also why sometimes I feel a certain way when some people perform
I gotta say I've never looked at stage presence this way. All the things u said abt Ahyeon and other idols were things i never noticed. You quite literally notice the unnoticed. And explained it REALLY well too. Will look forward to ur other videos🤗
while i agree she’s over performing a lot, i do find it interesting that female idols with high energy are criticized and hated to an INSANE degree over male idols, who quite literally all over perform and dance messily. but males are praised for it and called dancing machines despite dancing like a mess.
GIRL!!! I love you for this! I have been waiting for this video and you took the words right out of my mouth! Thank you for taking your time to make this.
This may not relate to the video exactly, but on the OT7 version of "Batter Up", Ahyeon's entrance seems to me to come out of nowhere. It's like they JUST remembered that she was still in BABYMONSTER and thought, "We need to put her in the song somewhere."
i think that if ur ceo is saying the same thing as ur fans, then it's fs a problem lol, and now she's underperforming a bit and ppl say she may be affected by hate, which yes she may be and i feel terrible but she as much as i love and adore ahyeon, she needs to start reading the room and having the same/similar energy to her members so she doesnt look like a solo artist like ppl say. i get she is the most popular and most known member but it gets to a point
Over performing and now underperforming when she listen to y'all to match the energy of her members lmao y'all, so damn funny 😅 I guess this will be the narrative because y'all used to her energy and suddenly she's matching her members energy now she's underperforming now 😂😂😂😂😂

thanks for the video!! im so glad to see that you also consider asa the best performer in the group because a lot of people think otherwise. heavily agree with the comment about chiquita. i genuinely did not understand why ahyeon was criticised while chiquita was everyones favorite performer. like she is most definitely overperforming, why doesnt anyone talk about it??? i mean some people do point out her "goofy" or "too intense" expressions but nobody seemed to have a problem with it which i did not understand
when Ahyeon did that toned down performance for Forever, her fans were saying “she lost her spark” and “the hate got to her”, which in and of itself is just, err… but some were also saying that she’s gonna get hate for “lazy” performance, which i have yet to see. literally everyone was talking about how shes GONNA get hate but i never saw anyone actually hating on it. either way, with that point, they’d also use that oh-so familiar phrase “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”,,, 💀 her fans seem to think an artist’s performance is black and white, that there’s only underperforming and overperforming, and not a middle ground of perfection. her fans annoy me so much with their logic, they’re actually ruining Ahyeon for me. i was 100% open to growing to like her but i’m slowly turning into a hater who thinks she’s extremely obnoxious because of her fans.
Tbh I did see some terrible netizens complaining abt how she’s kinda not giving enough energy and isn’t consistent in her preforming. Which although is a problem she has time to learn to be consistent as she’s a young rookie and naturally talented. I do think that ahyeon stand are coddling her too much though. Saying we were wrong for asking a change in energy is unfair. I get some antis will take it too far but not every kpop Stan is automatically a anti because they asked her to try and match the energy of the song.
Accusing someone who's critiquing your favs of having "low standards" isn't the argument people think it is. Like, what does it say when I have such low standards and this idol still doesn't measure up?
Yeah this video is just critiquing not hating there is a different between that and hate
This can actually be said like "You have low standards, that's why you don't feel this artist" too. I mean good reply but I'm pretty sure that most people are using the argument with this meaning and it's also right.

[Beware, long ass comment below]
I feel like some fans don't accept a drop off criticism about Ahyeon's performance because they may feel like "the haters won," but I should remind them that two things can be true at the same time.
This is exactly how i feel about Ahyeonah and i'm a die-hard Hyeonie🧸❤️🔥🍯. i agree with every word💯

@wunmiidris7871 Thank you! I feel like she's a great idol, but like every rookie (and even veterans) she needs some polishing, but she can't improve if we just blindly clap at everything she does. I really want to see her finding balance in the future👏
Very true!

So you only hated her because she received a lot of attention???
"Shielding idols from criticism is not wise when you want them to be the best in what they do"
Louder for the people at the back.
It's very hard-hitting and girl crush, and I think Ahyeon has a very one-dimensional view on how to perform.
she's still a rookie idol, she needs more practical stage performance to work with the group to understand her role and position in order to enhance the group's performance, then she will shines with her talents more and more, just give her room to grow, she will surprise you
you've explained everything nicely, thank you!
omgggg stage presence videos again, love ittttt. please do more 🙏
another thing i don't like is after she got criticism for overperforming, she intentionally underperformed and her fans called her savage but honestly it's just plain petty and immature. yeah, yeah she's a minor but come on? she chose this path. being an idol is a job so I feel like people asking her to do her job right is extremely valid but she responds so unprofessionally.
@@AnnGoldey agree..in forever ahyeon was doing adlibs when Rami was singing..the meaning of adlibs is that it should support from the background of whoever is singing... whereas ahyeon's adlibs in forever is a little loud than Rami who is actually singing the lines in the centre.😭..it felt weird but I didn't say anything.cuz I know her stans will bash me.
@@jagadeeswarirajesh6486 yes and you don't feel like that when rami is doing ad-libs in like that because she really balances energy
@@AnnGoldey yeah..a funny thing is that her toxic fans are saying that other members are underperforming and they need to match ahyeon's energy ..like wtf...that doesn't make any sense.. ahyeon is a rookie ..she will certainly improve overtime...
Taking things out of context to bash Ahyeon. The one talking is the worst hater.
Hater stop spreading misinformation
We dont hate Ahyeon, we just comment on her exaggerated performances.
tbh I'm not a fan of her vocals either she just naturally has a screechy tone it's very obvious YG is tryna push her as an all rounder and I find it very unfair to the rap duo ruka asa and Rami rora as well who are clearly more skilled and have controlled techniques while singing high notes ahyeon just ends up screaming and her natural tone being that way makes it sound 10 times worse
she is talented when she sings in mid range higher ranges bring the worst out of her tone
I was the same before I started my professional lessons and now my voice is 10x better for it. I find it sad how overshadowed other members talents are, as they truly are gems.
@@wioletwoesikr
Main rappers of the group are ruka asa ,yg said in announcement video I think.idk where he did say that while talking. He mentioned main rappers ruka asa. That's why they're getting their first rap sub unit in their upcoming album.
Also one of the main vocalist is rami. It was confirmed in lee munjin service. Other one is rora. Idk maybe it's ahyeon yg might make her main vocalist but rora deserves that position more.
It's obvious that yg is pushing ahyeon.becuz of this main rappers aren't getting more lines and parts also main vocalist are not getting more part to shine. Specially rora.
I SWEAR TO GOD I WON'T DENY THAT AHYEON IS TALENTED. yes she is talented .. but in BM there are other members better than her.
She's just famous cuz she's linked to jennie. Fans are blind ,they bash on people who criticise her .they don't realise that's how idols improve. 😂
I defend San's overperforming because it fits the songs and doesn't ruin the group's chemistry, Ahyeon on the other hand makes BBM look unorganized and out of sync. literally the most important thing about dancing in a group is being in sync
nah because SAN is a MEN. THAT'S IT no need to lie .
that's why I think Ahyeon should've been a solo artist..
@@Francheska291 Not y'all trying to bring misogyny into this- 😭😭 And I think you mean "MAN".
@@Welchs-Fruit-Snacks I mean "MEN" and yes it's a fact that y'all still can't accept. And this type of comment is the best example.
When your own CEO has to come and tell you to tone it down then you're doing something wrong.
the same CEO said to them be more energetic then they are doing something wrong and one is doing it right
Yeah regardless, a CEO's opinion isn't the most reliable. They're not the ones overseeing the individual performances and how each member does in a group. If anything, the ones who choreographed the dance has the best opinion on how much energy should be in the dance.
@@Francheska291
There's something called as balance go watch 2nd and 3rd generation performance. They too hyped crowd ate the performance. Most of those groups knew how to stay synchronized and stay in balance.
That's why they're at top .
@@Rosiieeees I literally Stan many 2!nd gen and 3gen most of them really don't give a shit on choreography when it comes to live performing or just music show lmao 🤣
I don't like how she toned down her dancing too much and with look bored during recent performances. She didn't improve her performance, but rather started barely doing anything at all. Its like she's being petty.
She has often at points looked bored, disinterested, sad and even angry. The others seem to ignore her moods and carry on around her. Only God knows what's going on here.
You can’t call someone petty just because she is now dancing with less energy, you don’t know Ahyeon so don’t make comments like that, she only debuted 3 months ago tf
I really don’t wanna pull out “the hate comments got to her 😭 “ card out but.. Wasn’t her debut delayed in the first place because of her health? Nobody really knows what’s happening but I don’t think I’d be surprised..

Bro even I noticed the same thing and I was attacked by her fans😂(I have to appreciate them though they're so dedicated) for pointing it out.
Even when she was overperforming there were moments when she used to go back and dance with other members she looked not so interested. And suddenly she would dance energetically.
I hope She'll get better cuz she has potential.
AHHHH I’VE MISSED STAGE PRESENCE CONTENT!!!!! Thank you, Cheryl
I also think asa is the best performer in the group
i agree with every second of this video. you said all of the things i've been wanting to say for a while lol. ahyeon has good facial expressions but for stage presence, timing plays a great role too. during their sheesh's performances, sometimes it felt like she was performing as a soloist. i'm glad that yang hyunsuk talked about it though. its not just the facial expressions but also her dance or i would say how she expresses some movements. babymon is still a new group, i'm not a fan but i look forward to their future plans a lot bc they are really talented. babymonster has a long future ahead and i'd love to see what more they can showcase. i hope ahyeon doesn't take the criticism to heart and just see it as a weakness which needs to be improved.
What is the lyrics of FOREVER? 😊 it seem you guys are the one who clearly doesn't understand anything

I will ask you again does AHYEON understand the lyrics? based on your own understanding the song is CARFREE AND EMPOWERMENT.
I watched a stage fancam and she does different things than the girls sometimes, like she does extra leg taps and has her head back while no one else does it and already took two steps while her head is still back
Finally😭someone noticed things which I noticed tooo.
There's no problem in adding your own spice to dance ,but she does I differently from other 6 members ALL the time.
That's the difference between debuting an minor vs debuting a well matured woman
Rubbish
Very well said and explained perfectly! Ahyeon needs to understand the importance of balance, when she tones it down, she tones down too much and takes the fun away from a good performance look, she almost has no facial expressions. Then when she tones it up, shes over-doing it again. As time passes, she will understand soon and refine her skills and she will be a great performer as time comes!
I love your commentary always ❤
Dude, I really wish that Ahyeon finds a balance between overperforming and underperforming. JUST READ THE STAGE PRESCENCE AHYEON!!
Also when I heard the dance coach say Ahyeon had control, I was pissed because Ahyeon clearly does not know how to find balance between energy and relaxed dance moves

Oh, a new stage presence video???
while i agree she’s over performing a lot, i do find it interesting that female idols with high energy are criticized and hated to an INSANE degree over male idols, who quite literally all over perform and dance messily. but males are praised for it and called dancing machines despite dancing like a mess.

Enhypen Heeseung overperforms as well. He’s talented for sure, but in my opinion, over does it. Throws the balance off.
This may not relate to the video exactly, but on the OT7 version of "Batter Up", Ahyeon's entrance seems to me to come out of nowhere. It's like they JUST remembered that she was still in BABYMONSTER and thought, "We need to put her in the song somewhere."
i think that if ur ceo is saying the same thing as ur fans, then it's fs a problem lol, and now she's underperforming a bit and ppl say she may be affected by hate, which yes she may be and i feel terrible but she as much as i love and adore ahyeon, she needs to start reading the room and having the same/similar energy to her members so she doesnt look like a solo artist like ppl say. i get she is the most popular and most known member but it gets to a point

this was SUCH a good video. you explained it perfectly
when Ahyeon did that toned down performance for Forever, her fans were saying “she lost her spark” and “the hate got to her”, which in and of itself is just, err… but some were also saying that she’s gonna get hate for “lazy” performance, which i have yet to see. literally everyone was talking about how shes GONNA get hate but i never saw anyone actually hating on it. either way, with that point, they’d also use that oh-so familiar phrase “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”,,,

her fans seem to think an artist’s performance is black and white, that there’s only underperforming and overperforming, and not a middle ground of perfection. her fans annoy me so much with their logic, they’re actually ruining Ahyeon for me. i was 100% open to growing to like her but i’m slowly turning into a hater who thinks she’s extremely obnoxious because of her fans.
Tbh I did see some terrible netizens complaining abt how she’s kinda not giving enough energy and isn’t consistent in her preforming.
