  • From "THE GUTHRIE FAMILY RIDES AGAIN" tour, Arlo didn't do this song until he sprang it on them this night! Jacklyn steps out in time and dances with delight and you can tell that SHE LOVED THIS SONG! She's the little star in this one. BTW, she was only 9 years old. Check out Olivia with her blue dress, cowboy hat & guitar! That gave me a great big wide, long lasting smile! My Serene Serena on the mic...oh, those grand daughters just swing on my heart strings!!!!!!
We did 87 concerts on this tour. Starting October 2009 thru May 2010, with a little break in Jan & Feb. Wow, what a time!

I still have my original vinyl of Alice's Restaurant Massacree, however I never liked this song. This new version is great, though and I loved his story.
Arlo is truly the finest story teller around. Haven't listened to Alice for some years now. I think it's time to revisit it.

I remember hearing this song in Central Park in the 70's. Loved it then and now.

I first heard this song on Radio Luxembourg many years ago. A couple of weeks later whilst perusing in a record shop I saw that it was on an LP called Alice's Restaurant. I bought it just for that song not knowing that Alice's Restaurant was the reason everybody else was buying it. There you go.

I've been watching U Tube for the last 2hrs. Arlo is the best video ever! I love all of Arlo's songs. It's a shame folk music isn't popular anymore. No worries though, I still listen to folk music all the time.

Priceless! I've known and loved this song virtually since those thoughts sprang out of that scraggly head onto that stolen roll of toilet paper. It's no less fun today, and the spontaneity in this surprise performance is perfect!

I agree. As much as I adore Arlo, the aimless wandering is distracting. But he is obviously a truely devoted family man!

I saw this man in SLC with my late husband. He sang this song, which (oddly) I had never heard. It was phenomenal! It brings back the best memories of hubs. ♥️

As a New Englander who happily rode my Yamaha Virago 545 through multiple New England blizzards...UP HILL..Lol I don't understand the idea of keeping your baby in during the winter. Y'all don't know the sheer BLISS you get from warming your hands on that engine with 20 cars surrounding you. All those folks comfy and warm while you're going "FUUUUUUUUUUUCK THAT!! BIKE LIFE 24/7!!!" I have even ridden my motorcycle through SEVERAL lightning storms blasting heavy metal praying I don't get struck. Lol

Uh huh. I remember very clearly driving my bike the whole winter. Young and broke. And in late spring, having disassembled the drum brakes ,looking at the massive amounts of aluminum corrosion. Took the whole thing apart to clean it up,kept finding crud wherever I looked. The chrome plating on the turn signals looked like smallpox. The rust on the frame, remove and paint. On and on.
Had a company truck the second winter. A much better idea.
Motorcycles are great. But there are limitations.

I had the joy of knowing your music through the book by James Patterson and EMily Raymond - First love. In it the protagonists sing an excerpt of that song. Hugs from Brazil
