    You are truly a talented and crafty lady! Thank you so much for sharing your time and your talents with me and many others. The way you teach and explain is very easy to follow and I thank you.
    You have brought me out of my shell and I am diving in to make this hat. I am using white as my main color and a sparkly Christmas color as my faded color. I am so excited to do this new crochet stitch (new to me ). I have to see if you are on Facebook so I can show off my finished hat. Thanks again!

But, as you stated, I would like the pattern, so I can see the color changes, on paper. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous beanie! 💚💙

    75 in my ribbed band is huge

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 года назад

      Hi, just wondering if you checked your gauge? You can always reduce the number of rows in your band (your band just has to wrap around your head comfortably). The written pattern also has instructions for other sizes forthefrills.com/fair-isle-crochet-beanie-ombre-free-pattern-video-tutorial :)

      SunshineShitNGiggles OrsumthingApprpriate I checked my gauge and was way off too, and I’m a tight crocheter. I ended up doing the toddler size for a 10 year old child and with the 59 it came out to 17 inches for me.

    my brim and single crochets come out to 54 sts. is there a certain multiple or odd or even stitch count to begin???

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 года назад

      Hi Debbie, what size are you making? You just want to make sure that the ribbing can comfortably fit around your head. As long as it fits, you can follow the colour chart and just follow stitches 1-4 for your last 4 sts.

    • @debbieeckstein3502
      @debbieeckstein3502 4 года назад

      @@forthefrills not following a certain size, but what fits comfy around my head, so i don't know if i have enough stitches, or perhaps too many.

      i'm still trying to figure out the colour chart. have never used charts before.

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 года назад

      @@debbieeckstein3502 Hi Debbie, if you're not following the pattern sizes I recommend crocheting the band until its just a bit snug when wrapped around your head. If you're new to colour charts this article is helpful - www.crochetspot.com/how-to-read-color-charts/ :) For the beanie pattern the colour is is in multiples of 10, so you repeat the pattern until the end e.g. if you have a beanie with 63 rows stitches 11-20, 21-30 etc. will follow the colour chart from stitches 1-10 and then the last 3 stitches (61, 62, 63) will follow stitches 1-3. Grace :)

    Can I use a 5mm hook?

    • @forthefrills
      @forthefrills  4 года назад +1

      Hi Monika, If you use a different hook size, it will probably change the gauge. So you can follow the pattern as a guide but you'll have to alter the number stitches and rounds you crochet so your hat will fit and I can't guarantee it'll look like the sample sorry!
      Grace :)
