Skill Level: Intermediate
Gauge: 15 sts x 9 rows of front and back double crochet = 4 inches
Finished Size: 8 x 9 inches laid flat
Yarn: Wool-Ease® by Lion Brand® Yarn (80% acrylic; 20% wool; 197 yds/180 m; 3oz/85 g; (4) Medium/worsted weight): 1 ball of Antler.
Hook: Size H/8 (5 mm) Hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge
OPTIONAL: Pompom to attach to the top

Thanks for all you do. I'm disabled, and have lots of hours to fill every day, so I make a couple hundred hats for charity a year, and I quickly got tired of trying to make my own patterns (I get bored easily, and don't like making the same thing ). I'm so thankful for people like you who do all the work to give these wonderful patterns to us for free. Even though I've been crocheting for many years, I also appreciate how easy you make things so that new crocheters can feel that sense of accomplishment when they learn a new stitch.
Ive just made this in a cream with brown and black flecked aran, its come out absolutely stunning, I was going to make it for my sister but Ive decided I love it too much. Such a brilliantly clear tutorial and a super easy hat that looks complicated but just isn't. Love it. Thankyou for this one.
So I made this hat and finished it this morning, and I love it. I made it in a peppermint green transitioning color and it will be a Christmas gift. Thank you for this tutorial and this wonderful pattern!
Just finished this wonderful hat pattern in Lionbrand Mandala ombre in the color called cool. Different ranges from black to light grey. Awesome pattern and such wonderful directions. Wow! I'm done. It's gorgeous. I used Big Twist gentle, bulky yarn. Color (AQUAMARINE). Now all I need is a little lipstick and I'll go pant the town turquoise

I tend to have have a looser tension. I guess I also have a smaller head. I think I'll make another one with 68 stitches rather than 72 and I also will decrease the height of the front post back post alternating rounds by one row each. The way this original pattern worked for me, it gave me a more slouchy hat (which is still gorgeous) but I also want a fitted one. This pattern took me 3 hours. Boy was the ninth stich on the back loop slip stitch a killer! I just couldn't put it down once I started, it was really fun. Thanks for the tutorial.

What I’m loving most about crochet is that you can see something lovely and then just go ahead and make it. Going to try this tonight. I have come around to the slip stitch brim. It’s a bit more fiddly but I love the result. Thanks for your great patterns and tutorials! 😊

I just finished this beanie and it’s amazing!! Great instructions, by the way. I struggled a smidge with the back post stitches, but I finally got the feel of it. I love it!!
I did 3 hats at the same time. The Lion brand mandala in sirens colour, looks really cozy. It's a 3 weight, the other 2 hats are a 4. Cant wait to try the Maria beanie next. (wish i could do the slip-stitch brim, bit too hard to handle looks so pretty).

Really like this pattern, Thank You! My opinion, the brims look better if you use 1 size smaller hook and create your chain and FP/BP DC like you did on Row 5. imo it looks better and its less notable when you complete the first row after the brim.

I love this one so far the best. I just made it! It's too slouchy for me so If I don't want it so slouchy and do a normal length how would i do that? Where would I end the hat at before I started the decrease?
