      Early 2000s kings moved the ball in a special way. They didn't hot potato just for the hell of it. They knew where to move and at times took only 2 passes to get a good cutting look. They combined their passing with kick out and inside cuts. They held the ball and used the 24sec wisely and didn't rely on 3s but mainly on the Princeton high pick pass along with basic handoff from big man to the guard

    I been a Minnesota Timberwolve fan since 1996. I remember this playoff game was on Kevin Garnett birthday, I was screaming loud as a kid, KG carried the Timberwolves, He even played the point guard role certain posessions of the game literally. Kevin Garnett is still my guy that's for life. After my Wolves play the Nuggets tonight ima have to come back and rewatch this. I dedicate this comment to all the true Timberwolve fans out there. It's been a journey Anthony Edward's got us back on the map. Along with Karl Anthony Towns, But i have to give credit to Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert for making us mentally tough and Naz Reid. Jermaine oneal. Webber . Amare Stoudemire. Hell than theres the tier 2 guys zach Randolph gasol etc. And kg was the fiercest competitor of them all. Gave you maximum effort on both ends and what set him apart from all the rest was his post game. His footwork and moves in the pist was almost Jordan like. He would play with your head hit you with a few fakes draw the foul and 1 and than call you a bitch a$$ ni66a the entire time he shooting his free throw ( yes hes been recorded saying this and some may not like it but I loved it lol ) people argue Tim duncan and it's hard to argue considering his hardware but kg never had a coach like pop. Remeber, just like kg, he grew up as a guard before his growth spurt. That's why he was always compared to KG coming out of Kansas. Long, lanky, guard like skillset, great defensive instincts, and unique scoring abilty in the mid post. Topped with elite athleticism, a slender frame, a decent shooting touch with room to grow as an outside threat. Their games are so similar.

    This was the quote on quote last hurrah of this version of the Sacramento Kings with C Webb leading the way. I used to love watching those teams with first “white chocolate “ Jason Williams , “C Webb” Chris Webber, Peja , Mike Bibby in a trade to Memphis for JasonWilliams, Hedo, Vilda, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie and a few other key role players. One of the biggest “what if “ teams you will ever see.What if the Shaq and Kobe Lakers weren’t dominating early in that decade. Maybe that Kings team wins at least one championship. Anymore then that would’ve been hard with that Spurs team and free agency Guys coming in and out . What if C Webb doesn’t get injured in the 2003 playoffs. A lot of people including myself, forgot about him injuring his ACL against the Dallas Mavericks in I believe Game 3 of that series. C Webb was never the same. They could’ve in my opinion won that year. The Lakers were down because remember Kobe had a messed up shoulder and they had a lot of friction between him and Shaq . They were fragile and lost to the Spurs in 6 games in the 2nd round. I believe as good as the Spurs were a healthy Sacramento team beats the Spurs in 6 or 7 games . I believe they smoke the Nets in the finals . I really would’ve love to see this kings team get over the hump and win a chip. It would’ve been a feel good story of the nba just like Lakers getting passed the Celts in the 80’s, Pistons getting passed the Celtics and Lakers, Bulls getting passed the Pistons and winning a “chip”. It wasn’t meant to be . This Timberwolves was to much for the Kings that year. I just would’ve loved to see them win one. Always will be one of my favorite teams to ever watch besides the bulls .

    Does anybody else watch these games and wonder how some people genuinely say and believe that these players are more talented and play better basketball than current players. Countless bricked wide open mid range shots, terrible turnovers, only like 3 people on the court can dribble at any time, a bunch of missed layups. It’s entertaining but it’s hard to watch sometimes.

    After this game, Geoff Petrie (forced by the Maloofs) started dismantling 'the Greatest Show on Court' Sacramento Kings from letting Vlade Divac go in free agency to the Lakers and trading Chris Webber to the Philadelphia 76ers to making the biggest bonehead mistake in Sacramento sports history by not renewing Rick Adelman's contract after the 2005-06 NBA season.

    • @TheIcemanthomas
      @TheIcemanthomas 4 года назад

      Omar Aden no there’s doubt.. u can’t just assume everything amines you the same. Different player; different direction of the team, different end results, possibly different seeding. Different scenarios. The chemistry of the team changes because of the personality differences between the two. This game is lent cut dry down the middle like that. There’s a lot of different things that went into Duncan’s success. It’s not as simple as put star into team and u win. On paper I can think it’s that simple.. but the game isn’t played on paper. The spurs would more than likely be a completely different team with kg instead of Duncan.
