    Timeless player. Would’ve fit in any era. Imagine all those long 2s turning into 3s in today’s game

    • @Terror832
      @Terror832 4 года назад +138

      Call me crazy but I can see KG putting up numbers on par with the current back to back MVP Giannis.
      Garnett was putting up numbers in a time where interior defense was still strong, spacing was worser, pace was slower, rebounding battles were around, etc.
      Garnett was doing everything Giannis was doing except better (especially as a jump shooter). Though I will say Giannis is explosive while KG is smooth.
      I can see him easily averaging an efficient 25+ PPG, 15+ RPG and elite all time defense. In fact he’d be a perennial DPOY winner in today’s era.

    • @Seattlefan77
      @Seattlefan77 4 года назад +21

      @@Terror832 they're close to me too and they can guard 1-5 and also play 1-5. Giannis obviously doesn't NEED to get a consistent jumper but I think that's the biggest difference between the two.
      The way they love defense just gets me right in the ♥️

    • @Terror832
      @Terror832 4 года назад +45

      Mr. Suhaib defensively I think Garnett is a tad better. He was competing for DPOY in his prime against guys like Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan, Marcus Camby, Andrei Kirilenko and young Dwight Howard. Not as stiff as the 90s but definitely better than today.
      I also think Garnett has a far better post game to compliment his superior jump shooting. With the paint so wide open these days it’s like KG would have a field day.

    Garnett was basically the Michael Jordan of bigs. He had all the post moves Jordan had and was just as good and committed defensively as Jordan was. Plus with his supreme Melanin and bald head he just looked like Jordan. If Jordan was 7 feet that's how he would've played. KG is definitely one of the more underrated MVP's. He was loyal to the Wolves who were a shitty organization and exceeded the odds considering he was a kid fresh outta the trenches in Chicago when it was worse than Chi-raq. If it wasn't for injuries to that 03-04 squad and to a lesser extent a couple of breaks here and there against that Lakers team in 02-03, kg would've had 2 rings in Minnesota.

    Underrated comment, most so called good basketball analysis didn't talk about enough at the time and it's is almost completely forgotten by the bball universe, only the people who followed kg and the people with the greatest bball i.q would understand this statement. If it wasn't for injuries to that 03-04 squad and to a lesser extent a couple of breaks here and there against that Lakers team in 02-03, kg would've had 2 rings in Minnesota.

    Kinda sad how Nba Twitter hates on this man, one of the most talented and skilled players to ever play the game. At 7ft, he was the first true 7footer that could move and play like a guard. Wherever he went his impact was felt. Sadly the people wont give him his due because his arch nemesis won 5 rings.

    • @loucapilla840
      @loucapilla840 4 года назад +9

      It's not because of their rings. It's bcoz of their attitude. KG seems to be very expressive, flashy and almost cocky whereas TD is the exact opposite, seems to be very humble on the court.

      @@loucapilla840 No it's rings lol. The same words you used to describe KG, perfectly describe Kobe, who is loved.
      People are reductive. Rings validate players' characters. If KG had 5 and Timmy had one, the narrative would be that Tim was too soft and pure to handle KG's smoke

      @@Chickenpesto2468 I've never understood putting so much value on championships when rating individual players. It just does not make logical sense and when people do that I get the impression that they don't have a good understanding of basketball. It's a team game first and foremost. No one can carry an entire team to a championship by themselves. KG squeezed so much juice out of one of the worst lineups in the NBA. It's honestly remarkable that he even got that Wolves team into the playoffs. Whenever I look at a championship statistic, my first thought is to look at the team as a whole. Even if a team is good, you have to consider the context of the competition in any given year before writing someone off as an all-time great individual player. It works the other way around too. Some of the historical greats probably appear better than they actually were given who they were up against.
