I may sound dumb , but i discovered the existence of GT4 online just now LOL .
Online mode is cut content, it was restored by fans many years after release
Gt4 online is actualy was actualy added in beta but later deleted by dev for some reason
And some fan discover the online mode on the game file so they restore it and tada!

@@noobscoopsies1100 it was a beta test for GT5's online multiplayer. The original servers were only up for three months.
@@thehwguy4293 yeah GT4 is acutaly GT5 alpha because and GTPSP is the Beta stage of GT5 cause they are have almost the same assest on track and cars
They Used GTPSP for the base model and GT4 graphic and then they Make upgrade on the GT4 Graphic and you had the GT5 lol

Fun Fact (That you might already know): Gran Turismo 4 was originally intended to have Online Mode and even had a test server. Because of how Confusing it was though it was scrapped.

The online beta for GT 4 came out like 2 years after GT4's release.

Part of me is glad this never made it into the game. Can you imagine the amount of wallriding or slamming into walls like bumper cars that would happen only for the person who took out 5 people from a good race to get a 5 second penalty lol

But hopefully over the summer I’ll start again but we’ll see, I have lots of ideas for some videos but the main thing stopping me right now is my current pc, im going to have to get another one because the one im using now is on its way out. @@hectorsequi5252 there’s a multitude of PS2 games that are playable online right now. There’s a couple discord servers that people communicate in to play so here’s the most active: discord.gg/zE79nWT you could also find some info on getting it set up in the meantime but it will be a bit more confusing
I've always wondered something about multiplayer in emulator games: if someone enables turbo to speed up the game in an online match, does this mean everyone else gets sped up or does your car become faster than everyone else's?
@@builderwack4459 It shouldn't affect everyone else's speed. However it does cause a ton of issues with syncing. If the emulator is running slow, it could slingshot your car or the opponent's cars (from your POV) once it catches up.
My emulator was paused while I was changing my settings before a race started, and as my race loaded up, everyone else took off before my countdown even started, then the rest of the race was messed up. There were people playing on actual PS2's who were just fine in that race, I was just going all over the place though.
If people use turbo mode to cheat then they could be banned by the admins of the server

You need a iso copy of ps2 online start-up disc to configure that.

some games have settings on youtube , i found my gt4 settup for the emulator on yt. Despite it beying a ps2 game it requires quite a badass pc as well

I’m not sure what reshade is. This is all PCSX2 with its internal shader config

I'd love *Motion Blur* in GT4, is there a way to enable it? (on PCSX2 or maybe secret GT4 menus?)
ReShade contains a motion blur effect but you need to change some key binds in the emulator so theres no problem

Yes, but you need a copy of Gran Turismo 4 online. It's actually recommended to use a PS2 as it runs a bit better than the emulator.
Of course, since only 8 thousand copies were made, you are better off burning the ISO and running it from there.

My first few days playing online were mostly fine after doing a Vram dump. I only had to lower the settings just a little compared to vanilla gt4. Recently though I've been pretty laggy and soiling races so idk what the issue is. It's my emulator though not the game or connection I'm sure.
There's a few things I can test later to see if I can fix it

I'm using Direct3D now instead of OpenGL and it runs waay better. No more stuttering or lag
