How did Buffy blowing up the Judge with a rocket launcher not make the list?!?! Judge:"It took an army to beat me!" Buffy:"That was then." Shoulders the luancher and takes aim. The OH SHIP look that appears on Angelus and Dru's faces before they run. Judge:"What's that?" Before being blown to pieces.
As a child I had a nightmare about a group of men who looked and acted exactly like the Gentlemen. When I saw that episode I seriously freaked, even though I was in my '40's by then.
I usually separate creation from creator. A painting or story takes on its own life and existence apart from the person who created it. Sure, there's influence, but you can be a terrible person and still create something beautiful and the creation shouldn't be diminished because of your other choices, i feel. Like how kids are not responsible for their parents' sins and whatnot.
I LOVE the last season of Angel, with first ghost Spike, then Spike just driving him crazy! Those 2 together seem to have a great energy, and gives me the giggles every time! And Spike uses Angel's real name "I never liked you Liam"
My favorite moment from Angel was Illyria changing into Fred's form, especially to comfort Wesley while he died. And then she pulverized the evil wizard. On Buffy, my favorite moment was in the episode Family, when Buffy tells Tara's aweful family they would have to go through her if they wanted to take Tara away against her will. It's my favorite episode of either show. ❤
Not a bad list except for the crucial mistake where you say that Spike made the Scoobies hate each other by saying to Willow that Buffy was talking about Willow being too busy with the “witchy”stuff now with Tara. He did say that but the implication is that Buffy supposedly didn’t like Willow’s relationship with Tara, it was all about Tara and Willow being gay, not magic. It’s a very important distinction
Given that pretty much every WhatCulture video has blatant mistakes, I’m sure it’s deliberate to make people write comments and boost the video with the algorithm.
I loved the decision to have it seem like it was the best happy ending with Sunnydale being a crater and Giles bringing it down a notch with, "There's one in Cleveland." A lot of the smart decisions I love also have to do with the comics continuation of the series for Buffy and Angel which I wouldn't want to spoil for anyone. Another smart move was not having Willow being gay just be a result of college experimentation. I also thought Once More, With Feeling was a pretty obvious and popular choice for smart decisions on the show as well as "Something Blue" and "Tabula Rasa." I also love the unexpectedness of "The Body" and Season 5's finale plus Spike's clear affection for Dawn aka "Lil Bit." Poorest decisions in my opinion were the scene with Spike hurting Buffy, the entirety of Riley Finn, "Beer Bad," how long Amy was a rat, Fred dying, Jasmine.
9:12 I HAVE to correct you in this part. There was a while when the Buffy series was all I really had to watch and I owned all 7 seasons of DVD. Kralik didn't manage a mental condition with those pills, the watchers got him addicted to them so he suffered without them. It was part of how they managed him. Otherwise, LOVE the video!
Right, he definitely HAS a mental condition ("I have a problem with mothers, I'm aware of that!"), but the pills seemed unrelated to that, like it was the council doping him.
Only just recently finished Buffy for the first time and because I was so caught up on what was happening on Buffy I neglected Angel so I’ve finished Buffy and I’m on season 4 of Angel and it’s almost as good
Welcome to the obsessed club. I started watching when it was a regular CW show. My kids were raised on it. I've literally watched each episode well over 100xs. It doesn't dull, just gets better with age!
Also, a subtle hint of Willow's intelligence was shown when Buffy was ABOUT to drink the contaminated water to get sick. (mentioned in first clip). Willow stopped her and told her it would kill her because it was concentrated. She filled glass with water and used a medicine dropper to put a few drops in the water. Then told Buffy to drink a little bit. Subtle hints like that are so well done that they just whoosh past the audience. Willow is indeed very smart. And no wonder she can be the most dangerous character when she's not herself!
Maybe if they all sat and watched it together. Too many of these Buffy videos are full of misinformation or just errors a Google search could have fixed
This just makes me want to rewatch Buffy. It was such a great show. I may be in the minority but I always regretted that Willow didn't get to flay Andrew and Jonathon along with Warren. They were truly the most repugnant and villainous villains on the show. At least the other villains had the excuse of not being human and/or of having some crazy, world domination plans.
I never understood why the gang never reused the spell they cast that allowed Buffy to kill Adam. The spell combined the abilities of all of them to allow her to fight him, so using this later in the series would have actually made Buffy even more powerful, especially if they added more people like Anya and Dawn. Buffy overpowered Adam so hard that it makes you wonder how strong she actually was during that portion of the fight.
Pretty sure they never did that spell again because in Restless Sineya (the first slayer) nearly killed them in their dreams. The price for using the spell was too high. From a writing standpoint it would also be lazy to just use that spell every time Buffy came up against something incredibly strong.
@@MdnightWnd Sure, though I thought there were later moments the group something they could have possibly revisited as even a consideration of one of the spells they could have used against the First or Glory. But, if you're right and it was touched upon, then I totally get why they wouldn't want to use it again.
Spice did not make Willow think that Buffy did not respected her as a witch. Spike insinuated that Buffy did not accepted Willow's romantic relationship with Tara.
Admittedly, I'm one of those people who nitpicks details - if this bothers you, please ignore this. Entry #10: The demon in the hospital is wearing a bowler hat, not a top hat. Sorry, I couldn't let it go.
I’m gonna be THAT GUY and point out that Buffy being underage had nothing to do with her being able to see Der Kinderstad. It was because of her extreme illness. 🙏🏼😅
It does though because only sick CHILDREN can see it. Kinder even means child in German. Buffy being under age is actually a pretty significant point to it
@@sinloi2675 Incorrect! The legal age of majority has nothing to do with how demons operate. This is why Der Kinderstod could tell that Buffy could see him and STILL went after *actual* children instead of coming for her (apart from when she attacked it). If the legal age of majority had any bearing on whether someone could see--and as a result be victimized by--the demon, then there would have been teenagers in the mix, not just young children. Re: the word "Kinder," unless my old German lessons are total B.S., "Kinder" is a word used to describe LITTLE kids. Like... actual CHILDREN. Not adolescents/youths/teenagers/whatever you wanna call 'em. Jugendlich would be the appropriate word for the demographic Buffy & Co. were in at the time.
The number one is not that smart to me!! We see a 10 years old getting the power of the slayer, that’s not a good thing! It maybe look smart in short term, but if we have another season it would be so much trouble! I didn’t follow the comics but I think they reverted that somehow! Because long term consequences would be horrible!! She traumatized a bunch of really young girls!!
Dirkindastahd was my favorite demon. And this list proves to me that anything after season 3 is completely disposable. I rage quit the show a few episodes into season 5. Dawn was the worst and the downfall of the show. Period. She ruined it simply by existing and it was stupid.
Maybe you should go back to try re-watch it. I think a lot of people felt the Same way as you initially (including myself) but season 5 is now highly regarded as one of the best seasons of the show . Mainly because of the themes around family and responsibilities as well as the growth of Buffy from a girl into a woman due to the pressures put on her (which make everything else before s5 seem like a walk in the park!) some of the most beautiful, magical moments from the whole series are within Season 5 and set up for s6 and s7 very smoothly. I’d hate for a true Buffy fan to miss out on the magic of the last half of the series.
