CX5 has the best exterior design in the industry. Hopefully Mazda removes the rear wiper blades on the redesign CX5 and gives us a better bigger infotainment screen/digital gauge cluster. The CX5 has the potential to be a coupe version to fight X4, QX55, GLC Coupe
I love my 2022 premium plus. Not even gonna split hairs with the 2 Mazda models in this video. Bar none, I would rather have this vehicle for the price than a Lexus, BMW, or Mercedes. Again, this is taking into account what you get for your money. My only beef with Mazda is our lack of colors, our way of trying to set ourselves apart. It's a west vs east mindset, but maybe the simplicity of models, colors, and option packages also keeps production cost down. Thus one hell of a vehicle for one hell of a price. Now, this is coming from someone who's not trying to keep up with the Joneses, so the cx5 is by far the best bang for the buck in my opinion. Problem is, I'm starting to see more, and more, of them in my area. I loved being the early adopter. Not anymore :). Side note. I wanted to get the CX50, but timing didn't work out with the end of my last lease. I'm actually kinda glad. First CX 50s to hit our area were scarce and suffered from dealer mark up. They seem to have leveled out and are more available. Hey, everyone has different tastes. This is my 6th Mazda. Love them. I even turned my chevy loving wife into Mazda fan. Sorry about the rambling. Zoom. Zoom. And to all of the critics out there, I love the steering feel. Old, fat gut from PA :).
The ONLY thing my 2019 Grand Touring RESERVE CX-5 does not have is paddle shifting. I have 4 heated seats, ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, heated wipers, power folding mirrors, heads up display, navigation, BOSE 10 speaker system, backup warning, etc. So yeah, a Premium PLUS in 2019 for $35,800. I added many MAZDA and other aftermarket features like C-5 lighted doorsills, roof racks, interior brushed aluminum dress up details, gas strut hood props, 245/50/19 tires (Michelin Cross Climate 2) CORK SPORT intercooler, turbo pipes and crankcase oil vapor collector. TOP THAT!
I have a '22 black PP...worth the extra $$$ for the Bose and PL at the time. The ventilated seats are pretty awesome...really help out in the summer heat.
I have the 2022 Signature. I love everything about the vehicle except for the gas milage. I guess it's true that you can have power or fuel economy, but not both. I can't wait to see what the new CX-70 brings. Hopefully, Mazda will keep the price reasonable. Thank you for the video.
I put a deposit down last week. Picking vehicle up this weekend. Now I’m reading about the Toyo tires and getting bummed out. Are will it be fine? It’s a lease. Cx5 23 premium.
i just viewed your video on 2020 grand touring and grand touring with GT package. both that video and this one are informative. i am a retiree and won't drive very much, so i am debating to buy a cpo 2020 grand touring with GT package or a new premium plus. i can tell the new car has a bigger infotainment screen now. are there other things which are different between the 2 versions? thanks.
@@JSS That's sad. I wish Mazda (& some others) would stop using the main headlight projectors as DRL. I love my 2022 CX-30 Carbon Edition, but I had to turn off the DRL in the settings. Seeing how they looked on other CX-30 (& other Mazda's) on the road while out driving, & the weird, annoying/painful glare effect they give off as DRL during the day. But, I do have pretty light-sensitive eyes, so perhaps it's just me.
@@dystopia-usa yeah i never understood this. They used to have the halo rings but got rid of them. why even have those Signature DRLS in premium and up trims, when you literally cant even see them because the headlight is taking over.
You can turn off using your headlight as DRL, leaving only the accent lights on when you’re in “parking light”. I did it on my 24 Cx5 CE, wish I chose the PP instead for the extra features that I never had before, but $6000 is pretty steep from CE to PP.
Hi Jon! I bought a 2023 Premium last year November, without the Bose or Powerlift gate, but I really wish I had them. Anything i can do? Can I get them upgraded or credited? Can I submit a complaint? 😱
I was so glad when I got rid of my Mazda with the terrible infotainment screen control system. It's a complete abomination. It is NOT a touch screen I traded it for a Toyota with a touch screen. WHAT A JOY! I can now do everything in 1/10 of the time and much more safely. Also, unlike Mazda, you can shut the lights off ANYTIME you want to. Off on the Toyota light switch really means off. Mazda makes you look like a sissy by driving around with your lights on during the daytime, which two government studies have shown does absolutely nothing for safety. It's just a decoration.
how is it more safe when you're literally taking your hand off the wheel and looking at the screen and where to press. That is not safer. Take your biased complaints somewhere else.
Taking hand off the steering wheel and looking/touching your screen is a distraction and it is dangerous. At least with Mazda, you have control within reach, you don’t have to stretch your arm to touch a screen. Btw, my 24 CE has touchscreen when in CarPlay mode. Onto the headlight, there is a way to keep lights OFF when you have it on OFF position, and Parking Light with only the LED accent lights on, no low beam. I did it in my 24 CE, it’s like a code to activate a secret mode in GTA, it’s weird but it works. I have complete control over my headlights, OFF, auto, parking or ON

I would love that 😍

Does the premium trim have wireless charging and is it wireless CarPlay?
My 2019 Touring with technology package is just fine for me. Plus it has Bose and power lift gate 😄
So excited for your 2024 version of this

Thanks for the very informative video.

Can you show using the radio controls with 2 large McD cups in the holders? Wondering if the cups/straws in the way?
Yes, I'll put something together.

So, are the LED DRL on these the separate L shaped lights only, or does Mazda still (sadly) use the main LED headlight projector as the DRL as well?
Same Mazda. They use both for DRL

If I have the heat on, why would I pay extra for a heated steering wheel that's only heated in 2 spots?
GREAT Review! Do these have WIRELESS Apple Carplay/Android Auto? Thanks!
PP does. But Honestly, the wired is better.... It's super annoying when the wireless keeps disconnecting!
Morning Jon from a rainy morning in Orange NSW 🇦🇺
When we will see presentation of new cx-90?
Cx-90 PHEV.... please. Premium vs Premium Plus
Hi Jon! I bought a 2023 Premium last year November, without the Bose or Powerlift gate, but I really wish I had them. Anything i can do? Can I get them upgraded or credited? Can I submit a complaint? 😱
That's a option I believe
you paid less because you didnt have them. I'm sure if you pay 600$ you can get them now
Does the premium plus have passenger power seat?
It should.
Hmm... but what are the differences between the features you get with the CX-5 Premuim Plus and the CX-50 Premium Plus?
The windshield driver never works . If it actually does work its so slow it's useless .
MaZda starting to name their cars like apple phones.
i dont think it's worth it...
Some don’t need the extra. I’m glad Mazda has the option.

Good information about differences!
