I Am One ?
Sonic youth?
The "Sonic" in "Sonic Youth" comes from the nickname of one of the band's founding members, Fred "Sonic" Smith.
I'm a silly bitch. I want to know the words. Anyone?
Have mercy, been waitin' for the bus all day
Wait, no, take two. Here's how Brother Rob sang it, more or less:
The screeching, useless martyrs
Hanging naked upon the cross, yeah
They would have you believe
By the lies they shriek that all is lost, yeah
Forget their logic of desperation
Utilize your imagination
The future's here right now
If you're willing to pay the cost yeah!
The power crazy leaders
Who control your very fate (huh!)
They would twist your will
Steal your life and sell your soul away, yeah
If you're drifting or wandering lost
You're the perfect target for the double cross
Freedom's yours right now
If you rule your own destiny, yeah
Here he comes, cosmopolitan automat, yeah
Yes and here they come, interstellar diplomats, yeah
Some say the truth is meant to be hidden
Others maintain that nothing is forbidden
The key to the mystery...
[And as our mind explodes in a post atomic dawn
The future breaks like a tidal wave, engulfing everyone
Confusion and chaos, trauma of birth
A strange new day for the people of the earth
Traditions burned away by that rising sun]
who the hell is singing? hate when singers change the melodies of songs into warbly rock bs
why does he change the melody?@T L it's a well-known song
Joseph Trum he’s in key just refraining from tyners notes and more low
Joseph Trum he’s marcus durant, formerly of the phenomenal zen guerrilla, and one of the most soulful, and powerful vocalists in rock.
@@SecretGerms Let's get the "He's not Rob Tyner" out of the way and leave it for some Captain Obvious who'll come along. When I saw the MC50 in Dallas, physically, I thought "He looks like Rob Tyner meets Joey Ramone". Because he's not Rob Tyner and can't be Rob Tyner, I didn't mind him doing things in a lower key, and at this point, I can live with a fumbled or fuzzed lyric or two. I was a little young when the MC5 disbanded, so I was lucky to get to see Brother Wayne put together an honest tribute group, all 1200 miles away from not only the MC5's home town, but mine, too. I might have picked a few different songs, but geez, I got to see this, and I had a hell of time.
