- Rest in peace Brother Wayne. Rage, along with Wayne Kramer of MC5, play Kick Out the Jams at the End The War rally during the DNC in Denver, 8/27/08. This event was organized by the Iraq Veterans Against the War. www.ivaw.org Fuck all these stupid money-making ads on my content, enabled by greedy RUclips. Do not support advertisers who appear unsolicited when you're trying to watch a DIY video with Brother Wayne Kramer and RATM.

My brain exploded at the end, and I my remains became part of the gasses and fluids of the universe. Then, a big bang blew up all eternity and I realized with what was left of my blown mind that brother Wayne Kramer was god!
RIP, Wayne. 😢❤
Wayne is a beast... Still kickin' ass!!!!
Oh my, that was fucking BADASS. Wayne Kramer with RATM, thats a fucking potent combo. I dont get why anyone would dislike this, the spirit, fire, intensity, and a big fuck you attitude was very much present in this performance

Rage Against the Machine picked up where MC5 left off, there was just a bit of a time gap there, that's all.
Nope.MC5 weren't whiny lil Commie Millionaires. They suffered throughout their career.

Have a kidney to spare for a soundboard recording of this show/song...
+w5winston Good luck! Should be out there somewhere...
Ironically I had a sb feed and a much closer position until the RATM tour manager kicked me out of that spot, muttering something about network TV news. I was not to be dissuaded so I headed up into the crowd in the way back. I had a 5pm deadline and missed Killing In The Name Of.
It wasn't loud enough.
MC5 Should be played on 11, not 2
Blow out my fucking ears!
it never is
Agreed
RIP brother Wayne
The text is said to be written as a critique of brit pop bands that played in Detroit in the late 1960s. But it soon got a more political meaning.
Let’s do it again…see u in Chicago this August!
やっぱ、世代も越えて永遠にカッケー!

RATM playing at the DNC. If irony was made out of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.
RIP Wayne. Were gonna miss you brother. Best cover of this song was done by Poison Idea
I think Blue Oyster Cult did a grand job on the Some enchanted evening album from 1978 ,Buck shredded on it 🤘
@outthere9119 ha!!!!! I just listen to BOC"s version. Loved it man!!! What an excellent cover. Fast and punky. Thank you for turning me on to this version bro!
Tom missed the Mr. McKenzie call back vocal part!
MC5 punk hardcore before there was punk hardcore! Saw them in '72!
Wayne needs Sonic Smith with him. The magic is gone.
mrmott44 True, we miss Robin and that immortal gap too!!!
THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!
amen
☮️
Rare magic indeed!
Conventional wisdom argues over The Ramones vs The Sex Pistols, but with regards to music conventional wisdom is always wrong. Someone raised the point that punk was born in 1968 in Detroit and after extensive research I must concede this point. I was familiar with the song from the BOC version, but never knew the cultural significance of the MC5 until a few years back. Guess the establishment was able to at least partially bury the history of these guys that looked like hippies, but had fucking guns and knew how to use them.
Punk music is ALWAYS a political statement. To shy away from that fact is cowardice. MC5 were the real deal. Rock on brother Wayne.
🤟🧙♂🤟
This!
"....the child is gone, the dream is gone...."----Pink Floyd.........
not the same as MC5, which is greater..........

Why is the guy in the red shirt singing? He keeps stepping in front on vocals. Kills it man

Back when the Democrats were cool.
Back when we were nominating a president with leadership, compassion, and character.

Awful. Can someone take their guitars away?
Wow, this really sucks. Bunch of frauds.
Too much talking shit at the start...Typical Yanks..shame really coz the song is amazing!
You're right - who needs context. Pretty sure RATM fans at this one had never heard of MC5.
Piss off typical whiney brit.
cant we all just be pissed off in peace
Crap.
kramer has done nothing good since mc5, and like I always say, this band has a rage against the machine problem.
Wayne releases some really good albums Citizen Wayne is brilliant one of the bests lp s i ever listened, also Dangerous Madness and The Hard Stuff are good solo works
@tinchocabj1053 I saw him live a few times over the past 25 years with his solo group and with Dodge Main, The Rendezvous Band, and as a guest guitarist with the Streetwalkin Cheetahs, and he was never anything less than an absolute savage.
The best band I saw Wayne Kramer play with was right before he moved to New York.
“has done nothing good” good grief, how can you criticize anyone…
Gracias Dios te tenga a su lado ROKEANDO juntos MC5 un banda ESPECTACULAR
