Probably one of thee best "Sound like without busting the bank" moments of the series so far! Nailed Lenny and Craig's tones, and the feel of all the songs you covered.
Sounds like Prince. Hear me out now, Prince was a damn beast of a guitar player. Look up some of his guitar solos etc. Hell I just want to hear you guys play some of Prince's guitar parts :)
@@SylasG probably because he's a blocker, but they should do it cos he's criminally underrated i know he mainly used a Fender Telecaster with strat pickups in it, he had the funky looking schecter and his guitar shaped like his symbol too so i'd go with a classic vibe telecaster to be safe his amps were Mesa Boogie so i'd go for a blackstar amp like a silverline and for pedals go for a Boss DS2, OC3, BD2 and CH1 as well as a compressor and that's about it
No mate if this video is anything to go by the next one has got to be Chesney hawks!! I wonder why they haven't done Richie maybe they can't get his chops down
+Funky Monkey1886 They don't use someone else's signature for someone else's setup, but if a signature of the artist is available it would just be illogical not to.
I don't know how my future child will take the fact that their birth will be the 2nd happiest day of my life below Andertons finally doing a Sounds Like which I've been wanting for ages (and smashed it)
Ibanez PS for Paul Epi Triple Humbucker for Ace and maybe some other amps for both of em but they can stretch the limit cos it's just guitar and amp and maybe an eq
Definitely overdue, sound like classic KISS circa mid 70's. Pretty straight ahead rock tone, all about vintage Marshall tone. Ace used a Les Paul loaded with Dimarzio Super Distortion (bridge only despite the three pickups) and a Big Muff to get his lead tone. Paul used Gibson Flying V's, Explorers, Firebirds and even an L6. Norlin era Gibson stuff all round with Gene's Ripper bass until Paul got his Ibanez signature in 1977. Gotta be a good candidate with Halloween round the corner 😉
but will they use Ibanez or Musicman for John P, but they can't get mesa cos they're too expensive and he has a signature wah which they could get if they're lucky but they'd need to use it for either Pull Me Under or Wither
Really good Sounds Like! Please do Pete Townshend (Live at Leeds-era) and The Clash (London Calling-era) and Billy Duffy without busting the bank! And digging the beard Bea!
Townshend's Leed's tone was an SG with P-90s and a pair of modified Hiwatt amps. Either a Marshall DSL 40c or a used Mesa Boogie will get you there. Effects are just Fuzz and some Echo. Any good fuzz and delay pedal would probably work fine.
Sounds great. I plugged in the mosfet 2 into the jcm 2000's ultra gain. Boosted the presence a bit to add a lil more bite and it sounds spot on. No need for the echoplex!
They're still doing this series for free... kinda hard for me to understand why everyone's complaining about them not doing the artist you want. I mean they have something else to do as well. It's not like doing "sounds like..." is their full time job. Great job Bea and Matt
Dunno if you guys check the comments on these anymore, but holy shit this series is addictive!! Gonna be a sad day when I come to the last one! It’s also been VERY informative and educational for someone like myself, whose just getting into learning how to build tones through effects, and learning the difference between pickups and amp types. If there was an Anderton’s in the states, you’d be getting ALL of my money!!!
Great job on this one guys. If I heard these tones in place of his over the radio, I honestly wouldn't know the diff. Anyway, keep up the great work guys!
HOOORAAY!! I'm sure others have as well, but I requested you sound like Lenny Kravitz. Matt, I'm glad you got into Lenny after working up this episode - his stuff is pretty cool. You guys nailed his sound - thanks. The only thing you were missing was Cindy Blackman on drums. I have some gear that may get close to what you were playing, although that Echoplex Preamp is pretty special. I have been eyeballing some Epiphone LPs for about 2 months now, but have a great Yamaha 611HFM with a Seymour Duncan humbucker in the bridge that should suffice for the time being.
Good job guys !! Just a few things..... 1)@ 00:23 That juicy tone with the palm mutes - That's THE tone Rabea. 2) Please pick some different guitars instead of Epiphones when you need a Les Paul tone and Mexican Fenders / Squiers when you need a Strat / Tele tone. There is a plethora of guitars in Andertons, it'd be nice to hear some different guitars for those who are looking to buy a different brand. 3) I was sure someone would point this out but I couldn't see it.....Slash actually played guitar on Always On The Run, as he did on a few songs on the Mama Said album. Not sure if he played the riff, the solo, or all of it though. 4) Sound like The Who please !! 👍
Don't know enough Lenny Kravitz to know how accurate this tone is, but that solo sound in Are You Gonna Go My Way is one of the best sounds I think we've had out of Sound Like yet!
Could someone explain me Epi's range of Les Pauls? There is this custom (top of the range?) and specs says "maple veneer" top and there is standard plustop where top is AAA flame maple top. Both have ProBucker 2,3 with coil taping and grover tuners. What makes custom dearer and "better" ?
I just realized that I have almost the exact same gear that you used on this video! I have a Vox AC4, an Echoplex preamp, and a Fulldrive 2 10th Anniversary. I have a different guitar, though.
An old GF turned me on to Kravitz a few years ago. The guy has some great riff chops and a ton of cool songs. I don't like everything he's done but what I do like I like a lot. Not sure if that makes sense....
I hate to ask, but if you watch these "sound like" videos in order, are we watching Rabea slowly turn into Matt? Because that would be some next level youtube stuff.
it's a pretty easy sound like, for Syn he uses a signature schecter with a seymour duncan invader in the bridge and a sustainer in the neck but it's too much money, he also used guitars with just seymour duncan invaders in them, his amp is a Schecter hellwin which is very similar to a Marshall JVM and he uses very little fx and the only stand out fx are a bit of delay and a cry baby wah pedal for the solo in Requiem so i think Schecter Sun Valley SS FR - £680, Egnater Tweaker 15 watt combo - £500, Boss DD3 - £115 and Dunlop Cry Baby wah (for the solo in requiem) - £90 total: £1385 for Zacky he also has a signaure schecter but it's way too much money breaking the £1000 mark so it has to be another schecter that is hardtail even though he has a floyd rose equipped version of his signature model for a little piece of heaven, his amps are Jet City which andertons haven't got i don't think, he uses a black label chorus for the clean part of Bat Country so in that case a Schecter S1 - £670, Fender Bass Breaker 15 - £500, MXR Analogue Chorus - £113 total: £1283
hi guys! I see that many times you consider as "sound makers" pedals that according to my ears basically do one thing: make the sound louder. for example in one video you used a boss eq totally flat, just with the db boost. maybe as a bass player I'm losing something, but wouldn't you reach the same goal by turning up the gain of the amp and adjusting the volume knob of the guitar?
the original American Woman is by Randy Bachman by the Guess Who, now that would be a great sound like without breaking the bank, just a wee suggestion, but great sounds and tones with the gear that was choose,
It's weird hearing all of these riffs that I've heard all throughout my life that I never got to know who wrote them. I suddenly have nostalgia for an artist that I din't know until know, and it's frickin' weird. Anyway, sound like *Ghost* sometime!
hey, guys great work yet again. Would still love to see you Do Prince and The Cure, they would be extremely difficult to do for 1500 and with prince dying to see what guitars and pedals you would go fo.r
I'd like to see you guys sound like: Seether Machine Head Korn Bush Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Shinedown Breaking Benjamin Stone Temple Pilots Mark Tremonti by busting the bank Alice In Chains by busting the bank Tom Morello by busting the bank
Great as always guys..... can I suggest I’d love to see a sounds like ‘me’ without busting ..... Matt, Rabea, Rob, Lee the whole crew pick a rig for £1500. It be nice to see what gear you guys think is the best, plus what you’d try to achieve ....would Rabea go full djent or try to get something that satisfies his rock and blues needs, would capt’n spend £1200 on a guitar and get a THR10 as he doesn’t gig? .... anyways keep up the good work!
Lenny is great, would have been good to have a mention of Craig Ross, such an underrated guitarist.
I think we all need a cheeky bit of Hendrix by busting the bank
Probably one of thee best "Sound like without busting the bank" moments of the series so far! Nailed Lenny and Craig's tones, and the feel of all the songs you covered.
Sounds like Prince. Hear me out now, Prince was a damn beast of a guitar player. Look up some of his guitar solos etc. Hell I just want to hear you guys play some of Prince's guitar parts :)
I wanna hear Danish Pete play some Prince. He throws parts in to the jams he does, and it's always brilliant.
@@d.s.8719 Yep, Prince was very underrated for his guitar playing.
Truth!!!
I don’t think they’ve done Prince yet :(
@@SylasG probably because he's a blocker, but they should do it cos he's criminally underrated
i know he mainly used a Fender Telecaster with strat pickups in it, he had the funky looking schecter and his guitar shaped like his symbol too so i'd go with a classic vibe telecaster to be safe
his amps were Mesa Boogie so i'd go for a blackstar amp like a silverline
and for pedals go for a Boss DS2, OC3, BD2 and CH1 as well as a compressor and that's about it
"Are you gonna go my way" was some of the best playing I've seen on Sounds Like. I'd like to see Nuno, Snowy White and POUSA please.
Please do a ritchie blackmore
How can you miss such a legendary guitarist
Kool Stuffz I totally agree !! It's a shame
I'm sure they will in the future, it's just that if they did all the legends first, the series would become boring and unpredictable
No mate if this video is anything to go by the next one has got to be Chesney hawks!! I wonder why they haven't done Richie maybe they can't get his chops down
Darren C Yeah. Smoke on the water is far too difficult.
Go on then Dmitri, let's see a video of you nailing Smoke on the Water, including the solo.
The Rabeard is a good look
One of the best in a good while. “Are you gonna go my way” was fantastic.
Do Sounds like Ghost!
Yo I'm tired of waiting for Sound Like Van Halen! When's that gonna be a thing?
I thought for Sounds Like they don't use signature gear, as it makes it too easy?
Well the EVH line of products stray away from the classic brown sound that Eddie had back in the 70's.
They do use signature gear. They don't use it for other peoples rigs, "No sigs for another mans rig."
+Funky Monkey1886 They don't use someone else's signature for someone else's setup, but if a signature of the artist is available it would just be illogical not to.
I would suggest getting 2 rigs: one of them all signature stuff and the other one with only non-signature gear and comparing both
13:52 Wow, that lick right there put a huge smile on my face. Great job guys!
RABEARD
FaceFro
aravis123 damn i thought id be first with that..
aravis123 nice 1
I thought the same thing haha. Turns out Im not so original after all
God damn it, that was a good one.
I've been asking for this for months. Thanks for this.
You are welcome....
Are You Gonna Go My Way is such a jam
I don't know how my future child will take the fact that their birth will be the 2nd happiest day of my life below Andertons finally doing a Sounds Like which I've been wanting for ages (and smashed it)
SOUND
LIKE
ELECTRIC WIZARD
HALLOWEEN SPECIAL!
i think type o negative would be more fitting they are the ultimate halloween band
That would be dope
Anonymous Prime Hahaha i get it ha
sounds like Eric Johnson please!
Classic Vibe Strat, a Fender amp, a fuzz of sorts, a tube screamer, some delay and reverb on amp
There's a vid of him using zakk wyldes gear and he still sounded the same.
I've been asking this for ages. Would be awesome if they did it and would like to see Rabea play like him if he can (not doubting him)
Any amp and a strat, flat EQ, presence all the way down, a delay and some chorus
+Andy M thats a mis-title. he was using zakk wylde's guitar, thats it.
I was dying like, "When are they gonna play, Are U gonna Go my Way?!!!". Then you boys did it justice! Salute!
Long time without a "sound like" and it's the coolest thing in this channel ... never stop doing it .
Sound like kiss and put the face paint on
Could be a special Halloween episode. Alice Cooper too
I never realised I wanted a SOUND LIKE GWAR until this exact moment.
Ibanez PS for Paul
Epi Triple Humbucker for Ace
and maybe some other amps for both of em but they can stretch the limit cos it's just guitar and amp and maybe an eq

Eric Blasse fabulous fabulous shout! Cap'n - please make it happ'n !
Is Lenny Kravitz one of those dang metal guys? He's got a fricken' Z at the end of his name, must be a metal guy.
Hank Hill Hank I heard Bobby listens to Lenny Kravitz.
Totally. Nu-metal. He is in that band Korn. I think. ; )
Hank pls
Hank Hill why can't they just play some Willie Nelson and sell propane?
Yeh Hank, like the rock icon Adrian Gurvitz with his very metal hit from the early 80's - (Gonna Write A) Classic 😆
Ayy welcome back. Sound like Michael Schenker, UFO and/or the scorpions please.
Such an underrated artist. Love a bit of Lenny.
Would love to see a episode of sound like Dream theater without busting the bank!
but will they use Ibanez or Musicman for John P, but they can't get mesa cos they're too expensive and he has a signature wah which they could get if they're lucky but they'd need to use it for either Pull Me Under or Wither
William Allison has to be an Ibanez rg his best tones were with basswood. They could use a black star ht20
Love a bit of Lenny!! What’s he up to now???
He's just hanging out....
The Big Len is awesome. Acts, does Super Bowl shows, gets with famous chicks. And an underrated riffer. Needs to bring back the dreads though
Tim Gregory He’s been rocking natural locs as of late. No telling how long they will get this round.
Andertons Music Co Cheeky or should I say a...ballsy comment.
Dan & Mick mentioned in a video ages ago, not enough people play a Les Paul through a Vox. Sounds awesome!
My favorite part of these videos is watching Rabea's mouth move when he solos. :D
You guys got a lot better. I'm impressed. The newest videos are great, you just nailed the sound.
The sounds like Type O Negative Halloween special better be coming soon
i hope they are my favorite band
Pete really loves the tone that rig produced. You knew it when he shouts “Yes!!” at the end of Rock and Roll is Dead
You got a like for the rendition of Are You Gonna Go My Way, I enjoyed that!
Most impressed by Rabea rocking some sweeeeet vintage Gazelles, I've got the exact same colour 👌🏻

Sounds like megadeth!
YESSS
I'm so excited you guys are making these again! PLEASE DO SRV AND BUST THE BANK
Do a look like Rabea without busting the bank! Looking good dude!
The recomandations on the right really show the difference!
I've been waiting for Sounds like Andy Summers for quite a while now. Please make it happen.

How about Weezer?
Although their sound isn't particularly difficult to figure out, I would absolutely love this one.
They did Weezer. Cheers! ruclips.net/video/hqi6rQ6oSB8/видео.html
The "are you gonna go my way" solo bit, is that a flanger on the rhythm part? Or a vibe?
Great job on this one guys. If I heard these tones in place of his over the radio, I honestly wouldn't know the diff. Anyway, keep up the great work guys!

Excellent video.
I've been looking at this Epiphone for a while and this video serves as a very good review of this guitar.
What did he do at 9:07 how can you do it?
Yes, this is who people were requesting.
Great video! Fly away was the first riff I learnt to play 😀
Good job guys !! Just a few things.....
1)@ 00:23 That juicy tone with the palm mutes - That's THE tone Rabea.

I can't believe you replaced Rabea with Adam Duritz from Counting Crows and thought we wouldn't notice...
Amazing the difference a mo can make :D
Great sounding rig!! Excellent episode, welcome back guys. How about a sounds like Steve Rothery or Kenny Wayne Shepherd (in the Rides)??
Don't know enough Lenny Kravitz to know how accurate this tone is, but that solo sound in Are You Gonna Go My Way is one of the best sounds I think we've had out of Sound Like yet!
Any chance at Sound Like Dickie Betts

Sound like Black sabbath BY busting the bank
Great video guys, can you include tunings and what strings you are using please.
Sounds great. I was curious about both of those pedals and they do both have their place. You nailed it.
I love the tones in this one! Great sounds all around! I think this rig is very similar to something I would like to have for me.
I just realized that I have almost the exact same gear that you used on this video! I have a Vox AC4, an Echoplex preamp, and a Fulldrive 2 10th Anniversary. I have a different guitar, though.
Digging the Rabeard!
Wasn't the 'Always on the Run' main riff and solo played by Slash?
An old GF turned me on to Kravitz a few years ago. The guy has some great riff chops and a ton of cool songs. I don't like everything he's done but what I do like I like a lot.
Not sure if that makes sense....
I hate to ask, but if you watch these "sound like" videos in order, are we watching Rabea slowly turn into Matt? Because that would be some next level youtube stuff.
Nailed it, again! Any chance of seeing the complete Danish Pete guitar collection?
Great job on this one, that sounded nice and crunchy
SOUND LIKE TOM SCHOLZ - BOSTON
Do avenged sevenfold and megadeth

so i think Schecter Sun Valley SS FR - £680, Egnater Tweaker 15 watt combo - £500, Boss DD3 - £115 and Dunlop Cry Baby wah (for the solo in requiem) - £90
total: £1385
for Zacky he also has a signaure schecter but it's way too much money breaking the £1000 mark so it has to be another schecter that is hardtail even though he has a floyd rose equipped version of his signature model for a little piece of heaven, his amps are Jet City which andertons haven't got i don't think, he uses a black label chorus for the clean part of Bat Country
so in that case a Schecter S1 - £670, Fender Bass Breaker 15 - £500, MXR Analogue Chorus - £113
total: £1283

Not a great fan of Kravitz after the first album, but wow, the sound you get on fly away !!! Love it !!!
Nailed it chaps! Always impressive!
You guys nailed it
Amazing tones!
the original American Woman is by Randy Bachman by the Guess Who, now that would be a great sound like without breaking the bank, just a wee suggestion, but great sounds and tones with the gear that was choose,
Very credible copy of his sound. well done... good jamming too.....
Were u guys using a new mic on the store part of the vid?
Cause it didn't sound as good as it usually does
please be so very kind as to post exact settings on the preamp and on the mosfet 2. thanks so much
Hi Rabea & Matt.I watched your videos with pleasure.Do you think to make about Gibson Slash Anaconda les paul guitar with full review? Regards...
Great tone guys. 🤘
Slash actually played the solo on ‘Always on the run’ hahaha still a great vid tho!
cool, i always thought it was Craig Ross
Rabea is looking more and more like Claudio Sanchez every video.
Wicked good playing lads and great video.
Great guitarplaying there bro!! Lenny is a great guitarplayer with his own thing!
Sound Like Rammstein PLZ
Just build a literal wall of marshals cranked all the way up, get a drop C guitar and you're good to go.
I believe they use Mesa Rectifiers, might get expensive
yes, mesa rectifiers and metallica signature ESP guitars :-O
Early 90's rectifiers, EMG 81 equipped ESP guitars, LOTS of boosted highs, quite a mid scoop
Really nailed the playing on are you gonna go my way
Matt is back 😍🍻
ARE YOU GO MY WAAAAAY.. What an awesome rig!!
Can you please make a video "Sound like .... by AND without busting the bank" to compare the two rigs?
I'd like to see you guys sound like:
Seether
Machine Head
Korn
Bush
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Shinedown
Breaking Benjamin
Stone Temple Pilots
Mark Tremonti by busting the bank
Alice In Chains by busting the bank
Tom Morello by busting the bank
great rig and great job
just sounded great full stop. you could cover so much ground with that rig.
Would you share amp and pedals regulations for these songs?
Sounds great! I would love to see pete do some demos of all the guitars he owns. That gibson sounds amazing!
Great as always guys..... can I suggest I’d love to see a sounds like ‘me’ without busting ..... Matt, Rabea, Rob, Lee the whole crew pick a rig for £1500. Truly exceptional job on Lenny Kravitz
sound like slayer
They're never going to find ANYTHING in the store with a Kahler
Hey can you guys please do Peter Green? I mean talk about a tone!
or Lindsey Buckingham
