Damn Rebea lookin real slim congrats on the weight loss!!!
way to go!
Yeah and Matt looks really good with an afro
Maybe Matt has just gotten fat?
damn this compliment is weird. you can apply it to him actually losing weight, or the fact they switched names.
Aside from tone and gear, more importantly in Pearl jams case are those songs and riffs, they changed history.. Clean, dirty, strat, marshall, gibson, etc.. doesn't matter, when you hear those songs they move emotions, that's when you know you have a great band and something that most bands can never achieve.. Great songs change lives!
sound like Matt and Rabea
Not sure if this was a joke, but I'm down with this idea.
No joke
That would be fun.
It would, and if we talk about it enough maybe they'll do it
Sound like Anderton's, even.
Some ideas
Killswitch engage
Bullet for my valentine
Motörhead (bass and guitar)
Queen
Korn
Steel panther
Band of skulls
Slayer
Sex pistols
Slipknot
Blackstone cherry
Sound like MOTÖRHEAD! Will be really interesting on how you achieve Lemmys sound
With a bass for starters ;) on a serious note, set neck guitar, JB in the bridge and a Marshall and you've got Phil's tone.
Murgins I would want eddies tone from back in the day , and yeah definitely get Lemmys done!
I'll double down on this one. Great idea Murgins!
Murgins Uhhh that's a hard one
Bea's channel should blow up , this guy has endless content and such a talented guitar player.
To be honest.....matt should brighten up ;)
Great word choice for a guy named Rabea Massaad ;)
sound like any of the following
Megadeth - Dave & Marty (or you could do Kiko or Chris depending on the era but i want rust in peace era)
Racer X or Mr Big - Paul Gilbert
Joe Satriani (BY busting the bank since you already did the without busting)
Jason Becker (he may have ALS that cut his guitar career short but sounding like him is a must)
Dream Theater - John Petrucci
Buckethead
Michael Angelo Batio
Van Halen (Everyone's favorite Eddie Van Halen)
Steve Vai (former student of Satch but still a tall order)
Eric Johnson
Shawn Lane
Zakk Wylde (BY busting the bank cos once again you made an almighty effort with the without busting)
and finally Yngwie Malmsteen (the absolute shred god)
Mike McCready's go to Strat is actually an original 59'. Such a cool guitar!
I was gonna say no that's Mike's actual 59 he plays
He actually found out that it’s a 60 not a 59!
Sound like Johnny Marr!
Gonna keep on asking until it happens!
12ealDeal Yes! Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
TheCollisionofworlds yea that would be a great one
I've been advocating for ~ a year now. Johnny Marr!
Please, for gods sake please! Been asking this on every video since the beginning as well!
Agree with the love for the MIJ Strat... got one a few weeks ago, immense!
Sounds like Alex Lifeson of RUSH!
afrodylan671 of course
YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSS
I think they did a rush one didn't they ?
afrodylan671 Alex lifeson is legit one o my faves though
Marshall in a box pedal, fender blackface amp, trichorus pedal or chorus pedal (depends what decade you want), delay and reverb. Flanger / phaser optional and get a les paul style guitar with humbuckers
Recently I thought that you could try to collect rigs that would be good for a specific genre on three diffrent budgets: really cheap/ begginner, medium price/ mediocore, expensive/ pro. For example 1000£, 2250£ and 4000£? You could try to find guitars, amps and pedals for genres like Indie, metal, punk etc. Think about it, love your videos! Cheers
Toothpastman great idea dude
Thanks Joshuah :)
Sound Like Stone Temple Pilots
Sound like Weezer?
They did already..
No, Stone Temple Pilots sounded like Pearl Jam....
felix o gaitero Exactly what I was gonna say
yes Please
RADIOHEAD?!?!!!?!?
Probably going to use:
- Fender telecaster modern player plus
- Vox AC15
- Digitech WH-1
- Marshall shredmaster
- Boss SD-1
- Boss RV-3
- Boss FV-300H
The_Sack_Guy what about Ed O'Brian and Thom Yorke?
Mark Jones - Let's be honest, mae. Johnny is the only one that matters here.
V HAS COME TO No he's just the most well known. Without Ed O'Brien, Jonny would just be a great guitarist. He makes him of the greats and he gives Jonny the ability to be great'
Mark Jones - Yeah, of course. It's just that ON A SHOW LIKE THIS, the only one that would be really interesting is Johnny.
Radiohead as a whole is solid though. They are all mad geniuses in their own way.
at 9:56 i was hoping he played "Yellow Ledbetter". That tune is gorgeus and fits great with that song. Great video as allways!
Do The Beatles, Eagles, Eddie Van Halen, and Brian May
I think they should do all of these! Especially Van Halen. Why didn't they do it already?
there already is a brian may one... although it's actually 3 soundalikes in one video so might be easy to miss.
Caleb Caldwell all at once?
the video I mentioned is actually on rob's channel with lee.
Sound like Andy Summers from The Police!
How about sound like the Police (Full Band)
Sounds like Soundgarden
for Kim Thayil he mainly uses Guild, but Andertons don't do guild but his guitars look very much like SG's so a Gibson SG, he also uses a Gibson Firebird which andertons do stock but it's way too much money and he also uses a Fender Telecaster but i think the SG way is the best one, for amps he uses Mesa Boogie which is way too much money so Egnater uses fx such as an Ibanez Chorus which they probably don't have, he uses an EHX POG which isn't really much of a big deal, he uses a Hughes and Kettner Rotary thing which they can't get either, he has a Boss DD7 which they can get but it'd probably push them over so DD3 and he also uses a wah which they should get mainly for the Black Hole Sun solo (if rabea is daring enough to play it) a dunlop crybaby would push the budget over a bit so Vox Wah instead,
Gibson SG Special 70's - £600
Egnater Tweaker 15 - £430
Boss RT2 Rotary Ensemble - £210
Boss CH1 Chorus - £80
Boss DD3 Delay - £115
VOX V845 Wah - £60
with a grand total of £1495
For Chris he uses a Gibson ES335 with TV Jones pickups installed which is his Own Signature Model, Andertons don't have it so an Epiphone ES335 would be a shout, he also uses a Les Paul occasionally, he uses a Gretsch Duo Jet with a bigsby occasionally so that one could be a nice shout, for amps he uses divided by 13 amps and Savage amps, both which would be super expensive so a Marshall DSL40C could do the trick or a blackstar, since they over used the Marshall DSL40C then the Blackstar HT Studio 20 is a good choice
Gretsch Electromatic G5435 - £507
Blackstar HT Studio 20 - £580
EHX Deluxe Memory Man - £186
Friedman BE OD - £200
and here you are with a grand total of £1473
there are no comments about this actual video, just more requests lol.
i thought it was really good and all i can say is FINALLY cos they did it at last
Yeah I though it was pretty weak, they barely showed anything, and while the tones were close they only played Ten songs
Please sounds like J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.!
that is a great shout!
Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster - £480
Marshall DSL40C - £600
Dunlop Cry Baby Wah - £90
MXR Carbon Copy - £160
EHX Big Muff PI - £70
all coming in at £1400
Needs more fuzz.
William Allison plus a flanger for freak scene
I'd say skip the cry baby since he really doesn't use it thaaaaat much and use the money to get a better muff, a rams head clone.
Sounds like The Cure ?
clement bui fucking YES
Yesssss
Was listening to the new Toska Live E.P (which sounds awesome by the way Bea) then this notification came up. So I had pause it... To watch this. 😃
Ocean Colour Scene? Steve Cradock has really great tone in his guitar and making an episode would probably introduce this great band to a few new people.
Sound like LYNYRD SKYNYRD!!!!!!!!!!!
PinguinGaming basically just play through Peaveys with Gibsons, and an occasional Fender
I absolutely love Pearl Jam. 1 of my favorite bands of all time... I think you guys did Really Really well. thanks guys
Sound like Claudio Sanchez and Travis Stever from Coheed and Cambria
Xavier Tech and Music YES
Xavier Tech and Music hell yeah
i've been asking for this for forever
Great sounding rig! The Japanese strat through the bassbreaker really allows for a full display of both pieces of equipment! The les Paul is thunderous with the tube screamer as well! Great sounding rigs!👍🏼
RUSH! RUSH! RUSH! RUSH!
RUSH! RUSH! RUSH! RUSH!
RUSH! ALEX LIFESON! RUSH!
you guys might want to consider either lifting the Marshall ban, or starting a Blackstar one. Seems like every video now where you consider a Marshall, you just default to the Blackstar instead.
Smashing Pumpkins!!! Siamese dream!!
Dan Valdivia yes pleaassess
Smashing Pumpkins ANY ALBUM!
So Corgan basically.
Siamese dream is famous for using massiv of BigMuff and lots of overdubing in the recording
even adore?
Can you do Korn please?
VAN HALEN !!!!!
What a fucK?!?!?! Cannot believe they didn't do it yet!
Miika Venäläinen you can just buy and evh guitar and evh amp and evh pedal. no brainier
It wouldn't sound like it used to in 1984!
Miika Venäläinen just saying there's a lot of affordable evh gear on the market including the peavey 6505 mini head
tzipieliezer just wanna know how it's sounds like and if they can maybe capture the sound with other gear would be awsome. am waiting a long time for this
SOUNDS LIKE SMASHING PUMPKINS AND WEEZER
Chef planes Smashing Pumpkins would be great. two guitarists and some really unique tones.
Chef planes Smashing Pumpkins would be great. two guitarists and some really unique tones.
if they focus on just billy then matt can use a gibson les paul custom but if they're doing both it'll have to be epiphone
SP are big muffs thru Marshalls, there, episode done! (One Strat, one LP)
Dave Mustaine
artillery666 this is a necessary now 😊
And marty friedman!
or would you perfer Kiko Loureiro or Chris Broderick
William Allison I would rather have them do Chris Poland. But OHM era Chris. His phrasing is totally unique.
Im so glad you guys did this, Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time.
Sound like highly suspect
Sugarstone yes please!
I read that as "Highly upset"...I was like, damn that sounds like a pretty...hardcore emo band....
Tom Meakin you should make that a reality! ;)
Awesome stuff, but when will you guys do PJ by busting the bank? Keep up the awesome work, and stay safe!
sound like Deep Purple
Blackmore period (the best) or Steve Morse period ? I know there's period with JS and Tommy Bolin too...
SYLVIE FONTAINE I have to say Blackmore, because morse uses his own guitar and rig and feels like "deep purple + morse" which is not bad at all, I've seem them live and it was probably better even than black sabbath live, but blackmore has the deep purple vibe. plus he is Ritchie Blackmore. Would be awesome to see a sound like blackmore and then a sound like morse.
edit: typo
WTF? Richie Blackmore of course. Who is steve morse? Does he sound like anything special?
I would like to see them replicate Blackmore's tape echo :D
or Rainbow
Miika Venäläinen morse is one of the g3 members
and deep purples guitarist
Sound like Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead!! So many people have asked for months so I think it's justifiable to do a By Busting the Bank.
Might as well ask once again.. :))
Joe Bonamassa please
Thomas Højberg i actually use my Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul for my Pearl Jam tribute band.
Les Paul + Fender Tweed = Done
Bonerslamsauce is the most overated guitarist of all time.
Hank Hill Agree!!! He has no "mojo" or something. I saw him in concert; he has a few, and I mean a few good songs.
Stop the presses! 2 people on the internet think someone who has accomplished way more than they ever could sucks.
I loved the sound of the Blackstar HT20 overdrive by itself before adding the digital sounding TS pedal.
Stone Gaws-aaaaard... lol
Japanese Fenders dudes, my absolute favorite guitars of all time. I've got a buncha them, Teles, Strats, basses. They all kill like nothing else.
ill ask once more... Eric Johnson??
You guys were wise in considering one restricted period. Mike and Stone have been changing gear a lot throughout the years including custom made amplifiers such as Sal Trentino, 65 and Satelite. Currently Stone plays even through Vox. Moreover, Mike's characteristic sound is well known for analog delay, wah and vibe, but you guys have gotten the basics, which is the spirit of the video I guess. Thanks!
Rabea, what about sound like Karnivool? I think you will do really great!!
Mastodon By Busting the Bank!!!!
Opeth Without busting the bank!!!
Ritchie Blackmore without busting the bank, I will keep asking until it happens.
Eddie Van halen?
Watching was worth it for the intro joke alone. Great stuff as always.
BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD! BUCKETHEAD!
les paul into generic high-gain tube amp
for pedals: whammy, wah, envelope filter and delay
done
+ killswitch
les paul with actives into a mesa
LET IT HAPPEN
Full of shit.... Just defecate on an electric guitar and play like a total fool. That's it ?
I haven't watching these videos in a while but literally I just thought the other day I wish you guys did pearl jam...and here we are.
I haven't watched a Sounds Like...for a while but FUCK ME, Rabea has lost ALOT of weight!!! Fair doose man, great video as always guys
Sound like Robben Ford (That Sweet Dumble like Tone) Without Busting The Bank!
I think that would be the best episode yet
Sound Like Grateful Dead
Man! I love how you guys played the old Pearl Jam songs instead of the new ones. It brought back good memories and made me feel young again.
We need a coheed and cambria episode lads!
Thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou thankyou :) this was the one I've been waiting for. Haven't even watched it yet but I'm sure it's great. Thanks :)
Sound like Mudhoney/Joy Divison/ Motörhead!!!
Nailed it!!!! The strat setup is absolutely THE TONE I want, fantastic
PLEASE do Type O Negative but you have to do guitar and bass, should be interesting!!
Type O Negative was my first real concert with Coal Chamber
The Frugal Musician Lucky! Sad I'll never get to see them live now
The Frugal Musician NYC? I saw them with Coal Chamber a bunch of times.
No, in Houston.
uploaded just as i really started getting into Pearl Jam, great video guys and Rebea you're looking slimmer btw good job man.
Sound like deftones!! This sounded heart btw
I've been waiting forever for this.. Sick tones! Also, looking good Bea!! Whatever diet you're on, its really working
I would LOVE to see Sound like Ghost
Agree with you Bea,japanese strats are awesome I have a 1989 japanese fender strat and absolutely love it ,in many ways prefer it to my american standard.
can you do Johnny Marr next
Finally I been asking for this one love it guys thanks so much!
sound like weezer
Hahaha "id take the scratch plate off" *remembers vid of u taking chappers plate off his new LP* lol ....killer strat for sure too!
sounds like anthrax?
beautiful lp! great, simple and natural finish.
Sound like Megadeth the rust in peace tone is amazing and I'd love to find how to get it
Eli Simmons dean guitar with a DSL 40. Maybe a Tube Screamer.
The Even Flow guitar sound is literally the best sounding thing to come out of Andertons
sounds like RUSH and Deep Purple
Great episode! Although I was really hoping you guys were going to play a little Do The Evolution, but you still played some great iconic riffs.
And as always, I'm still patiently waiting for sound like Deftones or sound like Highly Suspect.
Sound like muse by busting the bank
Davy van Broekhoven this needs to happen
Anderton's will have to start stocking Mansons (and the actual replicas of Matt's guitars that are at least £3500+)for that to happen.
Davy van Broekhoven yes please
Thank you so much for doing PearlJam I don't know if you saw my maybe 20 comments asking to do PearlJam lol or you just wanted to do it or saw someone else asking but thank you
sound like Extreme please !
unfortunately they can't get a Washburn N4 on that budget even though i've seen them stock the N4
but i'd say Charvel San Dimas or a Fender HSS stratocaster with a floyd and for amps either the DSL40C or an Egnater Rebel or Tweaker and i know nuno uses a wah from time to time, you can hear one in some parts of Play With Me and i know before the solo in Play With Me he uses a Phaser
but here's an attempt of what the rig should be
Fender HSS Floyd Rose Stratocaster - £635
Marshall DSL40C
Boss PH3 Phaser - £110
Dunlop Cry Baby Wah - £90
Grand Total £1435
"This is Andertons TV on Sounds like" haha made me chuckle! Great video guys!
Sound like Avenged Sevenfold
Another great episode. What I think would be informative for the fans would be an explanatory (exploratory?) video that shows all the work that goes into actually making it happen. I mean, I know you guys are guitar gods, but man, the amount of work you have to do to get the tone just right, the amount of experimentation, the fuck-ups, etc. Folks get the impression you just sit down and away you go, but I have to believe each 15-16 minute episode is actually many hours of work. Thoughts?
Sound like Grateful Dead!
The solo for Alive will always remind me of the time I went to the local guitar store with a buddy, and we saw someone jamming that solo perfectly. My friend, in typical guitar player fashion, claimed he was playing it wrong, and proceeded to butcher the solo while making a 'better than you' face while leaning his shoulder over at the other dude. I was so embarrassed.
Weezer!!
"Stone-Gos-ard" love it. lol
Pearl jam is great to play on your radio in your 1980 pontiac firebird while wearing a leather jacket even though it's like 90 degrees out.
Been there done that except it was a 76 Firebird.
Hank Hill your posted from California right. Says how much you know. sorry nothing with talent came of your generation. Theres always video game and chat room and get your jerk on
Denny Christensen Why are you so mad Danny?
Hank Hill
I'm not mad Jill. i just get tired people knocking people who have talent. Music is art come from the heart and soul. The people born in 1992 or later have no talent but yet talk shit to make themselves feel better about being non talented puss. i play bass for hobbie, and race 3 hr. long MX hardscramble. so i know talent. Was i right you from Cali? razed indoors like a cat or dog.
Denny Christensen Well, one of your many "talents" definately isn't grammar.
And saying that an entire generation is talentless is short-sighted and ludicrous. Claiming that you "know talent" because you play bass and ride dirtbikes is actually pretty funny since bass is considered one of the easiest instruments to learn, and dirtbiking is one of the few sports that can be played while sitting down.
Also, using your logic that when somebody talks shit it's due to their insecurity, does that mean this generation threatens you?
Hey guys idea for an episode. You should do a challenge. See, anyone on a tight budget is gonna need something really versatile. So, one of you doesn't know who they will need to sound like and the other one will. One of you can go straight in with the usual tube and pedal rig and the other has to use digital or modelling stuff only and has to get the tone of the artist on the fly. Same budget and must be gig-able.
Sound like Red Fang!
Sunn Beta lead and telecasters 🤘
I just spent the last few days binge watching all of the Sound Like videos and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the journey. I feel a bit sad now I've caught up though! As a future request, can you please do a Sounds Like Fu Manchu? - I want to see you guys enjoying those big riffs!
There are other PJ albums besides Ten!! haha
Horacio Garcia agree to disagree :)
I mean, more music for us then :)
Horacio Garcia amen and they all sound pretty different! That's what makes Pearl Jam so awesome
Matt nailed the sound of the Alive intro. Bravo.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD!!!
Great video!!! Could you consider doing a sound like deftones, Steven Wilson or Porcupine tree? That would be great as well!
Please do Prince I need this
Love the afro, Matt. This was great and I didnt even know I wanted it!
SOUND LIKE THE EAGLES PLEASE!!!
I've seen this probably 500 times... it's just so perfect... nailed it
AVENGED SEVENFOLD
Thank you SO MUCH FOR UPLOAFING
Please do a Sound like Queensrÿche! Ref. tone Empire album.
Operation Mindcrime would be also great
Great tones!! Love the sound of that strat with the Jrad Archer!! Hope to see a sounds like Brian May sometime
