I knew what was coming because I was at the rehearsal the night before and saw it before most people. Front row sound is hard to beat lol
coats found a way to utilize electronics better then any corps and they should have won that year. I can't wait to see and hear what FX they're pulling out for Pink Floyd this year heard some interesting props this year.

From a South African lucky enough to study in the States and actually see some DCI live, a lifelong fan after that and watching from South Africa since then, HOW THE BLUECOATS DID NOT WIN WITH "TILT" IS BEYOND ME!
+Jahn Beukes BD was untouchable in 2014, simple as that. They just dominated the entire season, visually they were incredible and musically they were still fantastic. Their lowest caption placement was 2nd, only barely losing percussion to SCV and beating the Bluecoats in every category. Tilt was an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime show, but nobody was beating the Blue Devils that year. Were it any other year I think they could've done it, but 2014 wasn't it.
@@ImVee10 it's mostly a matter of opinion on the term "perfect", but there are objectively mistakes that are made, which is to be expected, no show is perfect.
So I attended the Warrensburg show in Missouri that year and I must say it was the best experience in the world seeing and hearing this live. No video on RUclips ever will come close to reliving this moment.
How early in the season is this? I may be way behind on this but the percussion feature at the end confuses me, unless it got changed or completely missed/taken out somewhere before finals, or lost in the crowd
I'm assuming it'll be like that this year. Right now, in Kinetic Noise, they don't have that big huge giant finish like they did last year, it just fades out into a "white" noise. I bet they'll change it before the DCI Eastern Classic on the first day of August.
I remember last year at the Houston showcase when they used the pitch bend everyone in the crowd, including myself and my group of friends, went absolutely ape shit while crying and hollering and cheering. I still get the chills from this show.
Yeah, the energy in crowd definitely drained when the percussion feature at the end happened. It was smart for them to shorten the ending to capitalize on the crowd's emotions to the pitch bend.
It's crazy they got away with that. There is zero actual pitch bending going on. Just the synth. That ticks me off. If you need electronics to play that stuff for you... pick a different show.
Is it even possible to get enough microtones on regular marching instruments for a "pitch bend" of the length of this one? The only real way to make it smooth is to do it electronically...
EpicDragon Studios yeah thats essentially impossible to do on a physical brass instrument. at least not this smoothly and in tune with every single member of the band.

No trophies, no awards, all i care about for a performance is giving a crowd a show that gets a reaction like this.
