Until next time, peace!
Breaking news : Local dad robs son
Would like but you are at the "nice" number
What's this comment about? And it's fixed. Now I'm curious. Am I being slow or something?
10:20
Did you understand the Doctor's salute ?? He HATES salutes, no matter if someone does it or if he should do it. That means a lot of emotion if he really does it like here. He never saluted to him when he was alive, or always get upset if they did it. But now, after he is dead he did it out of Respect and their friendship... AWESOME
When Missy sang '' hey Missy you're so fine 🎶''
It was improvised by the actress ( Michelle Gomez) , she's amazing
Didn't know that, so nice
Have you seen The Chilling adventures of Sabrina? She's brilliant in that.
James Nestor you seen green wing? Shes hilarious in that
Though inspired by this song. (Just in case no one knew.)
en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mickey_(song)&action=edit§ion=0
I really think that she absolutely nailed the character of the Master, and later down the line the character's evolution perfectly. What a talent Michelle Gomez is. I think it's the facial expressions for me.
Missy goes clothes shopping "I'm looking for an outfit that says 'Marry Poppins became a serial killer'"
scary poppins
Capaldi's era has some of the best thematic and character led story arcs
Enzophanis1892 just doesn’t though does it. Missy was the best developed and that’s it. The Doctor didn’t do bad either. Don’t suck your fsvourite Doctor off with bullshit
i don't agree, but I think Capaldi worked so well as the Doctor that he covers over the many of the cracks. Plus Coleman deserves credit for how much chemistry she has with her costars.
Mauther yes I agree. I’m not saying Capaldi was bad, he brought something so unique to the role but the fact is his stories weren’t the best character led wise...
@@drd2121 I would Agree that they were, series 9 had some of the best character stuff imo
@@drd2121 you seem chipper😂😂😂😂hater
“I wasn’t very good at it, but I loved you.” That’s a very underrated line.
I read your comment and the video synced with me reading it 😳
During "In The Forest Of The Night" episode, the Doctor talks a lot about how the timeline can be rewritten. Which essentially sets up how Danny and Clara's descendants can be wiped from the timeline.
You missed a post-credit scene, well not really "post" but 2 seconds into the credits there's an extra scene
Lol I think its better he missed it imo
Will be more of a suprise
@@marshymooo9312 yeah he was really suprised next episode 😉
The scene of him putting all that sugar in his tea is iconic 😂
And the way he drinks the tea out of the saucer. My great-grandfather used to do the same... minus the sugar :)
"Of course. The Earth's darkest hour and mine... Where else would you be?" *salutes*
That line still gets me every time.
This episode always makes me reflect on when Wilfred asks the doctor: *Do you think he changed them, in their graves?*
😢
I love Missy. She acts all quarky and she is but she has an objective. I love when characters have very round about ways of conveying emotion. Doing something so dramatic may seem like an overreaction over something like wanting a friend back. To some it might seem overboard but I find doing something big and complex to convey simple emotions puts more weight on how emotions can really push people. Showing how intense that emotion is.
12 now has a better understanding of himself as seen by the I am an idiot speech. He will go on to move further away from the “angry doctor “ we saw this season and try to be better
Michelle Gomez is hands down my favorite version of the Master. She plays the character so well! Keeping the Master erratic and less than sane, but also still incredibly intelligent and frightening.
"Plot Armour is Too Thick, Moffat likes me too much."
Oh you had no idea.
Moffat said when filming his last scene for his last episode: "How many times have I killed that girl off and she was right there in my last shot."
Xen Martyrzade awww he’s killed her off like 3 times and he’s tried to kill her to many times to count
Series 9 is my personal favourite. Looking forward to your reactions.
”I got a fortune cookie that said I will become an accomplished writer”
Failwhale every time he says “put me in the writers room” : 🥳
2:34 that Cyberman head was from the second doctor story, 'The Invasion' in which the Cybermen crawl out of the sewers at the same place they are currently.
There is a really famous shot of the Cybermen walking down a staircase at St Paul's Cathedral which was recreated in the last episode and the image was also previously re created using the cybus Cybermen from series 2
This episode had me sobbing like a baby. Especially with Danny, and then I cried harder with the salute. And I too love Missy.
Also-
FailWhale: *sees Missy being wheeled around in a dolly next to a plane* Wait- is that a reference to-
Me: Yes. Just assume ‘yes’.
Now you need to watch some Classic Who with the Brigadier in them, just so you can understand how strong the relationship between the pair was. This would mostly be during the Third Doctor's era, though he has been with the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th Doctors and met the 1st Doctor in the anniversary specials.
You missed the scene at the end.. where Santa visits
“So I just got robbed.”
Me: not a very good robber then stealing your wallet but not the stuff in your wallet lmao 😆
RIP Danny & Clara’s grandson. Time was rewritten.
One of my favorite Christmas specials next ep! My body is ready, let's go!
For a person who just lost his grandparents and dog it was hard to watch this when it premiered, people who are dead still feel what there body is feeling , that is spine chilling. Nice reaction btw 😄
8:29 Theory time! I think that this very well might be the zygon Osgood simply because of this line. What do y'all think?
22:57 Oh look! Brigadier Allistar Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart! One of the Doctor's oldest companions. Sad we couldn't have one more scene with Nicolas Courtney and the Doctor...
When The Doctor held his tears back... damn
"you got any games on your phone?"
I screamed
I always watch reactions to this episode to see if people notice the changed opening. Almost no one ever does.
Great! I know some didn't like Danny but I loved him. Plus Missy is always amazing. I loved Osgood too! But Michelle Gomez was just so good! The Hey Missy was improvised.
Eunoia i also loved Danny! He’s underrated tbh, I can see why people didn’t like him tho the writers did him dirty at times
Personally i didnt mind danny as a character, but the doctor was a huge prick to him for no reason which made him understandably salty, which turned him into a very stroppy character. Apparently "Never be cruel or cowardly" goes out the window sometimes.
15:57- I thought this was a deleted scene?! I’ve only ever seen the “Doctor in the TARDIS” clip on RUclips
WhiteWolf99 i was like wtf
I believe it's on iplayer a lot of scenes are taken out by netflix for example in the master of drums the master dances to a song which isnt on netflix for some reason
Flamingosundew I love the master’s dancing scene but this one... I kind of hate it (pretty sure it wasn’t in the original BBC version either)
@@mr.fandango6223 oh my mistake
Yeah it's definitely not a scene on iPlayer's version
You should be watching Torchwood and the Sara Jane adventure
He’s watching Torchwood on Patreon (it’ll be on RUclips eventually!) and will probably start SJA after that.
The Cyber head that Kate has is from The Invasion, a 2nd Doctor story that introduced Kate's father, The Brigadier.
Season 8 had my favorite finale/2 parter, or at least one of them. Because it really took a deep dive into its characters and painted them with various complexities that this show has rarely had, and it asked some really good questions. I feel like this season, these characters, and this two part finale is criminally underrated.
The Third Doctor has always been my favorite and I'm not ashamed to say I squeed a bit when the Brigadier showed up to save the day at the end.
Mark 6:43. As Tom Baker's "Doctor", he has been the Lord President of Gallifrey. So there is precedent for that title. 😎
Season 9 is my all time favorite season. Im excited
I have to admit that the Clara and Danny soap opera irritated me during series 8 but at least it was building up to a decent conclusion.
This was the episode where Capaldi became the Doctor for me. They finally figured out how to write for him. Now he is one of my favs...
The next season is fire and is fantastic
Best Capaldi Season is Season 9. Tons of great episodes.
@@ianking3847 most definitely
I agree.
Up there with the best seasons of New Who in my opinion.
season 9 is one of my top favs
"Go be a king... or a queen."
"Yeah, I could do that... or maybe a black lighthouse keeper."
"You might want to pace yourself a bit, there."
I’ve always seen Missy as the 11th Doctor’s version of the Master. The purple Victorian outfit and the quirkiness, in many ways the 11th Doctor inspired Missy’s portrayal of the Master since behind the scenes she appeared in the final season of Matt Smith’s era, and let us not forget she brought Clara and Doctor together during that time.
Nice that the Brig finally got to shoot the Master. Getting that salute was nice too.
Actually, Missy being the Master was the most popular theory during Series 8, so a lot of people could see it coming, but still a lot of hype was there during the reveal.
I love how Missy pokes her head out from behind the TARDIS at 11:42 when the Doctor comes down..just further cemented her as my favorite modern regeneration of the Master.
It takes a very rare individual to resist Cyberman programming. It takes exceptional love or willpower. Danny Pink was not the first. Do you remember Yvonne Hartman from Season 2 ("I did my duty") , Miss Hartigan from the Specials (the Cyberqueen) and Craig (and baby Stormageddon). The Brigadier was dedicated to defending Earth.
Series 9 is my favourite since series 4, can’t wait! Some of the episodes are proper bangers.
Missy putting the two together works so well for those two ultimately being the chaotic destructive hybrid force at the end of season 9.
i like how the tardis took off at the end and everyone was just walking past like its normal
“Never trust a hug, it’s just a way to hide your face.” Has stuck with me for so many years now. What a line.
Scientist girl was a Stan. Ten’s shoes and Eleven’s bow tie.
In regards to the Clara/Danny pink timeline, most people think that time is a straight line of cause and effect but actually it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly timey-wimey stuff, so as for Clara and Danny having descendants in the future maybe they did from that time perspective (the life they would have had) but because of time being in perpetual motion they never got to live that life.
@@Cicen2 you are correct. Moffat has mention in an interview that pink is a descendant from danny relative. Thus, he has no blood relation to Clara.
If every dead person became a cybermen, did Amy and Rory become cybermen too?
Oh no I never even thought about that!
Gwinnell Heald ah, sorry 😅😂
This comment made me sad.
Rory's back again!
ftumschk 😂😂😂
OH YES. SEASON 9 NEXT!
And I really hate it technological Cybermen. I prefer Cybermen stories to go into the horror of humans being turned into grotesque, emotionless reflections of themselves.
I hate how unstoppable they made the cybermen in nightmare in silver. I mean which is more scary a cybermen slowly walking through you reminding you of the person's live who was wasted in order to create that machine. Or literally ironman .
I mean, yeah the tech porn gets in the way, but the point is that the cybermen arent a pure reflection, the mirror is cracked. That crack is the technology. The humanity is taken away and replaced.
Lone Cyberman was fantastic in Haunting of villa Diodati, body horror and all 😀
KKay In Nightmare in Silver you could sense how the human was completely changed. I think that’s mainly because of the design of the face. It looked so emotionless and plain. I’m not saying those Cybermen were perfect but they captured the emotionless thing perfectly. They didn’t capture the body horror at all. And their extreme power took away all the depth and complexity of them as a villain.
The Darlek Girl that was in love with the Cyberman
I am glad that you also think Michelle Gomez acts the master really well. After two episodes, we all just agreed with she is totally the Master :) such a great actress
15:57 I'm confused, how did you get that scene "Doctor in the Tardis" ? It's a deleted one why is it in your episode ?
Will we get more frequent uploads due to the corona ? 👀
Edit: Big whovian - keep it up you got entertaining reactions to episodes I’ve watched like 3 times over each.
One thing to keep in mind moving forward, is that Missy is the first incarnation of the Master without the drums driving her insane.
Mark 11:28. "The Twlight Zone" series episode with, William Shatner, seeing a Gremlin on the airliner he was aboard. The same idea in a vignette of the movie, with John Lithgow, as the passenger. 😎
Mark 18:56. FYI, just on case. That was her impression of, Marilyn Monroe, singing to, JFK. "RUclips", has the video. 🎂😎
Love how he never edits out the family clips
Mark 16:15. "Doctor in the TARDIS"! A song reference? One by, "Gary and the Time Lord's"? 🤔
The master is a time traveller, as is clara. The kid, who was clara's child, was wiped out by their meddling in time.
In tears... Every single time I see this episode... The feels are too much
11:27 “you got any games on your phone?” That oh dear, that’s what got me!
“She gonna head burger thing or what” 😂😂
Congrats on 100k dooski
The next Classic story should be The Three Doctors. It's a good look at both the 2nd and 3rd Doctors, you get some great Time Lord lore, and the OG UNIT fam.
Yeahhh finally time for season 9!
You need to watch the teaser in the credits! This time it’s not so much a spoiler, more an important continuation.
Oh boy can't wait for him to react to series 11
The subplot to this episode of weaponizong the dead has insane parallels with the latest season finale.
You missed the reversed title-sequence. After Clara says she's the Doctor, not only is Jenna Coleman's name put before Peter Capaldi's but it's her eyes rather than Capaldi's which appear. Anyway, this was a great episode when it first came out. My only gripe was how once again the Cybermen are used as foot-soldiers and a secondary threat rather than the main (and more-serious) threat.
Mark 8:32. As established, she is not playing, "The Master"! She's, "Missy"! (As in, "The Mistress"!) 😉
Kate’s dad was a character called The Brigadier who was a recurring character from the 2nd Doctor up to the 7th. There was a portrait of him on the wall in the plane.
no Kates FATHER was a character called Brigadier Alister Gordon Lethbridge Stewart, head of UNIT in the 70's ( or 80's) and he was the longest running and most important non companion companion in the shows history, he worked with 2nd 3rd and 4th, gave 3rd a home with UNIT when he was exiled on Earth has met EVERY one of the classic doctors at least once, 1st and 5th twice.
julie everett I meant father, not grandad. I’ve amended. But he didn’t appear until the Web of Fear with Troughton and unless I’m wrong, I don’t think he met the 6th Doctor.
In the tv special dimensions in time he did! And yes, you are right about the web of fear!
julie everett I didn’t realise we were counting Dimensions in Time as canon
Season 9 hype. SEASON 9 HYPE
"They're coming to get you, Clara"
What about Barbara😆?
Anyone else never seen the extra scene after 12 skydives? With 12 running around the console which happens very rarely and was nice to see. And him saying "doctor in the tardis!" Is this on the US release? It's not on the dvds and Netflix here.
congrats on 100k! keep up the good work.
I... Genuinely forgot how this episode went, I'm literally sitting here weeping holy fuck 😂 great reaction to a great two parter 🌟
Mark 27:28. Your premature farewell to the then future, young and attractive, "Queen Victoria". Little did you know, hey? 🤔 Thanks for the fun video! 😊☺😎
I loved the opening credits with the Clara eyes this time around!.....
Just been diagnosed with the coronavirus and now in isolation for a week, this was just what I needed to see!
Mark 3:15. Funny that you should mention, "Iron-Man"! After I saw the first movie of his, I complained more than once, whenever I could, that the FX team failed to do the research! A guided-missile or space shuttle, uses solid-fuel booster rocket engines that leave a smoke wake behind them, that is darker than that left behind by liquid-fuel main rocket engines.
They imposed Tony's image onto a launched vehicle from, I'm guessing, Vandenberg, AFB, thinking it would give them the "realism" they strived for.
Those rocket engines don't refuel in mid-flight! They are "one and done", except when recovered that is.
Tony's suit, and the Cybermen's suits, don't have that sort of built-in fuel storage capacity. But not only that! Repulsors, would not have contrails as they don't burn fuel in the first place, like that.
I imagined someone thinking that if they are larger on the inside then they would have fuel storage. But they aren't using jets or rockets, so that doesn't matter. Unless you have a large battery in mind? 🤔
Post credit scene you missed mate
Missy is currently my 2nd favourite Master, she’s amazing
I'm not sure if it was really established if the version of Osgood that died was the human or the Zygon version of her.
Any yes, Danny did order everyone to self destruct. But he was just a sergeant. Lethbridge-Stewart was a brigadier. :D
Bro you missed that scene just after the end. That has to be the funniest thing I have seen all week😂
Did you notice that Jenna's name was first on the opening credits because she was the Doctor
Always love these reactions... Stay Strong.
“So I just got robbed” crying 😂😂
About Orson Pink that can be interpreted by it being a timeline which is in flux.
Annnnnd yep, I still cry at this one too.
You're dad seems chill :)
Mark 11:41. Look! The obsolete logo! "U.N.I.T.", meant, "United Nations Intelligence Taskforce". But eventually the real U.N. told them not to use their name. So they changed it to, "Unified Intelligence Taskforce", but didn't correct the acronym to, "U.I.T.", or at least remove the Periods, so that it is, "UNIT". (Or, "Un.I.T."?) 😒🤔😉
When you shut the video down it wasn't over.
Did you miss the little internal joke in the opening credits? Since the credits start with Clara claiming she's the Doctor, the credits are adapted to back up her story. 😂Her name is listed in the Doctor's place (i.e. before Peter Capaldi's) and they use a close-up of her eyes where the Doctor's usually are. It's just a fun little inside joke that they threw in there so, it's a shame to miss it.
Really looking forward to seeing your reactions of S9. Fans either seem to absolutely love it or absolutely hate it.
I met the actor who played Danny. His name is Samuel Anderson and I'm his number one fan, I love him...lol... and even wrote a jazz song for him. He and I have talked on and off for nearly ten years. He's still my number one favorite actor. Clara does return in season 9. Orson Pink was just in one episode. They did ruin the story by having Danny bringing back the kid he killed. How do you explain that to the parents? How do you get him to the parents if they themselves aren't dead. It's just another story where it seems like Moffatt was drunk when writing some of these episodes.
