    thanks for posting the results, the mechanical part most all can do is why we search this stuff out. I wished people who is making these video's would do a follow up to let us know if it helped their symptoms or not. thanks

      Sorry I haven't done a follow up. But just to clarify this fixed my problem and the truck has been shifting correctly after changing the TPS and is still running great.

    My 08 2500 5.7 seemd like it down shifted more than it should. I installed a after market line pressure booster and it fixed the issue

    Wait... when you say jumps gear? Are you meaning actually shifting or are you talking about the needle on your rmp guage? Does that guage have the needle go to 4 or 5 for 4000 or 5000 rpm?

    • @dmuldrock
      @dmuldrock  5 лет назад +1

      Both, it shifts in and out of overdrive. This causes the rpm to fluctuate up and down also.

    I'm having the same problem also my idol is fluctuating. I've changed out my throttle position sensor, my IAC sensor, my cam sensor, my crank sensor, even my transmission shift solenoid, a tune-up but still have the same problem.

      You could try cleaning your throttle body and MAP sensor. From what I researched though the TPS is usually the cause as it gets a dead spot in certain positions which faults the computer and causes the gears to jump back and forth.

    Same thing happens to me but it goes into limp after a certain mount of time... has a P0720 code (OSS) but I have replaced the sensor and also replaced the wiring. Also replaced the TOS... any ideas? My Speedo works great.

    • @dmuldrock
      @dmuldrock  2 года назад

      Sounds like that could be a speed sensor issue. Common Problems That Trigger the P0720 Code
      Defective Output Speed Sensor
      Defective Shift Solenoids
      Defective Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
      Defective Valve Body
      Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages
      Defective Output Speed Sensor wiring or connector

    I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 1/2 ton 2WD 5.2L V8
    I had my truck's transmission completely rebuilt and a high performance shift kit added to help get the truck up to speed while getting on the interstate because I pull an enclosed trailor. Ever since I got it back from the shop the truck seems to kick me out of over drive while on the interstate or driving in the higher gear. The truck shifts just fine but will not allow me to stay in overdrive. I'm curious if replacing the Governor control solenoid and Transducer or Master Solenoid overdrive and lock up could fix this problem? Or try replacing the TPS? I quit driving the truck due to this problem but I would love to fix the issue and get it back on the road. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate the help

    • @dmuldrock
      @dmuldrock  5 лет назад +1

      Mine had same issue. It would constantly shift between overdrive and down a gear. After changing the TPS it has been staying in overdrive like it's supposed to. It's a cheap part and easy to replace so definitely worth a try on your truck.
