Excellent review of a nice watch. Love the dial texture (almost GS-like). As you spotlight, it's a watch you can wear in virtually any situation. I don't consider poor lume a big deal on a non-diver.
I am also a big fan of Citizen's Eco-Drive movement. I have zero qualms in owning a quartz watch and I just love the fact this watch will run for at least 25 years without changing the battery even if it's not worn and be utterly accurate at the same time.
Eco Drive, sapphire, anti-reflective coating, titanium, day/date, some polished surfaces, textured face, the perfect size, etc. I prefer the teal/green.
Having really arrived at the watch arena only recently and being in need of a lot of really good basic information I'm often disappointed by presenters and their desire to go too far, so to speak. Your direct style and information is very helpful and keep up the good work!
love that review! just the watch i was looking for +! amazing quality of content - thanks for the effort and please keep going, you absolutely know how to make a great video!
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
After my Oceanus I got years ago - no more integrated bracelets gor me. At least the PRX has OEM & others rubber straps, movement & size choice - still not buying. CW has titanium ( for more £$€!), but I've got a C63 36mm. Citizen have improved their designs ( their weakest link) immensely- my dad's eco drive still going after 20+ years. I was going for the Fujitsubo but the size , no drilled lugs(!) & the black not having the bracelet deterred me, so I got the BM8180-62E instead ( not perfect the design & price are winners plus day / date is needed for holidays..).
That's what initially kept me from going for the Oceanus, but I'm still considering it! How do you like it? Great choice on the BM8180 btw I love how elegant it is and for the price it's a no brainer
@@WatchReviewRewind I own the OCW-S100 and consider it to be my perfect daily watch. True, the bracelet is integrated* (suspect you can easily cut the middle portion of a strap and replace it... it even has drilled lugs), but I would not replace it anyway as it is the most comfortable bracelet/strap I've ever had on a watch. You get 2 micro-adjustments on the clasp and half-links to size it just right. I am crazy about the looks of the watch and the movement requires no attention at all once you set it up if you live in an area that receives atomic signal. Finishing is better than the titanium Citizen it replaced, but it is something you can see only if you really look for it. Seconds hand hits each and every marker bang on.
Just an amazing looking watch! A little advice. When you do the lug to lug measurement, if a watch has male endlinks do it from endlink to endlink. That is the true lug to lug as the endlinks stick out further than the case. Also I always find it helpful to also get the dimensions of the dial opening. That helps to see how big it will wear. Great video
Good video on the watch, almost got the Blue one. Some people been trying to call it a Tissot PRX killer, I disagree with that comparison. Seen allot of people with White dials Tsuyosa and Zenshin on Reddit. PS doing good on RUclips.
Thank you man 🙏 and yes I absolutely agree with you on the PRX Killer label. Would you go Tsuyosa over Forza? I got to say I'm really enjoying the Forza more surprisingly
@@WatchReviewRewind I have both watches in my collection. I like the inexpensive and multicolor options of the Tsuyosa brand. For the Forza (Now called Zenshin) I love the textured dial.
It's been under $400 from the official citizen website for at least a week now, but I want to say longer because the automatic small hand has been $500 (right now 468) for at least a couple weeks. Great score, but it should get the extra credit bump
I have the mechanical one. I think this watch is near perfect. The only drawback is about the accuracy of the mechanical movement. Quartz is probably a better option. Aside from this it is a great value, great finishing on every aspects
Very good video. Though clearly a fine watch, it is not the one for me. I want titanium to look like titanium. And, erm, the second hand is a miss, not a hit. 😊
Long story short I want this exact version instead of the automatic because this is daily driver no need to adjust and is more accurate. Called the flagship store and placed order over the phone. Gave them discount code 10%. Shipping is complementary. Total I paid $354. It will arrive in a few days.
This is a fantastic price for titanium and the case finishing is nice... but I think I would still prefer the Urban Traveller. It is a better Tsuyosa to me, and I like that watch too.
A great review overall, your relaxed style and presentation are excellent. I was particularly impressed by your graphic on bevel vs chamfer, terms that are frequently used by other watch reviews who don't understand the difference! Some aspect that I would appricate you covering in the future would be a little more detail on the clasp - does it have micro adjust and if so how much? How is the finishing, is there branding on it or is it sterile? Also when giving a score to a quartz movement, it's ability to hit the markers is worth mentioning.
I wanted to try a titanium watch so I bought a $130 Boderry from Amazon. Titanium is so much lighter, has a more subdued color over stainless, and it's not so cold in the wintertime. Now the search for a titanium watch with a day date complication that I require for a daily watch begins. This Citizen is tempting. Maybe a Sinn. I'm also looking at a Christopher Ward. I don't know yet. lol Thanks for the videos!
It looks so good with that white dial, I wanted a Tissot PRX, but after getting a Casio Edifice EFR-S108, and then the EFB-108D I’m good. It’s a little big, but for $100 the Edifice EFB-108D is the perfect daily driver, hitting the markers perfectly, 3 year battery life, good bracelet, sapphire Crystal, excellent finishing/polishing, nearly on Casio Oceanus levels. 👌🏼
Todays prices make almost any purchase an exercise in justification of asset management. I own a half-priced version of this watch in the Casio lcw-m100de-7ajf (but no dlc titanium or sapphire) that even has digital watch features. Unless you actively use your watches in construction or duting sports activities that toughness is just overkill.
Thanks for the content. You'll grow in no time. One suggestion (I am a nerd and like numbers): how is your scoring system performing against some known winners? Have you done that? It's like calibration I guess. Off the bat (don't have to do Rolex Daytona etc, if we stick to lower/daily/mass market), take a look at Tissot PRX, Seiko SSK, Hamilton khaki (and others like Omega AT, Intra matic chrono), even Casio worldtimer/G-shock if you don't mind quartz. Just a thought.
Question: do you believe this watch may work as a more formal, almost dress watch? I'm starting my watch journey, and I got a beater of titanium that I love (Citizen Garrison) and would like to get a "dressy" watch. And I really liked Eco-drive convinience and titanium light wightness. Not to mention that my work is related to titanium prodcut as well, it is the metal I touch everyday working day.
Good question! I would say this is a more sporty design, you might be able to get away with wearing it for something formal, but i wouldn't consider it a dress watch. If you're wanting a citizen, Eco drive, you could consider a aw0100-19a on a nice leather strap, or depending on how big your budget is, the citizen Eco drive Perpetual is such an awesome watch for literally any occasion
The PRX case design is so good! But the dial on the zenshin is more enjoyable. Tough choice 🧐 on a 7 inch wrist i'd say the 35mm will be a bit too small though, so I'm would go with the Zenshin, or!! Try a 40mm PRX. And not sure if it's a deal breaker but the lume is better on the Zenshin believe it or not
I own the exact watch except it’s the auto version, love it except for 2 things, feels really cheap to wind and cheap to adjust the time, lots of grit in the action
For my taste, the watch case feels a bit too convex, not even flat. Japan is known for its engineering perfectionism, but when it comes to design, they’re... not quite Italy. I just wish the case would blend more seamlessly with the wrist, rather than standing out so flat.
100% agree! Actually this was my main issue with the tsuyosa, Case shape and bracelet didn't really blend well together. But still such an awesome watch though 😁
I might be weird for this, but it doesn't actually bother me 😅 for me the second hand is more of a indicator that the watch hasn't run out of battery than anything else. I realized just how much I took that for granted when I started wearing quartz dress watches with no seconds hand
