That blue dial Citizen is perfection 😍🤤 but it should be an eco-drive or quartz which will be much better than automatic! Thanks for sharing your experience and amazing review
Bought a Citizen Promaster Tough last month. My first Citizen.....and yes to be a broken record.....Citizen is so under rated. Great vid as always man!!!
That's a great watch fmto get as a first citizen! And yeah citizens are very much underrated no matter how many times we say it😁 Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, hope you keep enjoying your promaster tough for a long time coming!
I have much respect for the Citizen. love the Eco Drive. This watch looks fantastic. However, I have to give the win here to the Tissot. The curves of the case. The angle, taper, fit and finish of the bracelet give it a more distinct 70's vibe. I personally in this watch prefer the minimalistic and elegant sunburst dial on the quartz version. I just received the 40 mm blue quartz PRX and have to say it is stunning on my eight-inch wrist. the watch is so much more then I'd hoped for. At the end of the day of course, it is a matter of personal taste. Be true to thine own self and purchase what you like. 👍👍
Bought one of the automatics (turquoise dial) from masters in time for about $400. I like it much better than my tsuyosa. I’m a sucker for titanium, and the small seconds hand looks great. It came in last Tuesday and I wore it the rest of the week. It will be getting regular wrist time lol
I'm quite a fan of Citizen Eco-Drive watches, I have a few old ones that are still working just fine after 10 years. or more I've not purchased a new one in a very long time though as my tastes have changed over the years. The Quartz would be my choice as well I think. As you mention the seconds hand hits the markers perfectly just like my old ones and I'd add my Casio analog watches to that as well. Can I justify one? Maybe who knows but for now I'm OK with what I have. Oh and I had to laugh at the Pissot TRX blooper. Which on that note I do now have a digital PRX smaller version (the display looks larger) , why? Well I'm a motor racing fan and the chronograph is brilliant for timing multiple consecutive laps (think of a fly back but you get to read the time and write the lap time down before looking at the next lap.) and it's different and harks back to the time when I was growing up. With a 'normal' chronograph you would time every other lap hence back in the day the pit crew would use two stop watches. I like it. As always many thanks for sharing.
I have both the Citizen Tsuyosa and the Tissot PRX and I feel like I like them equally however methinks the new small seconds Tsuyosa edges out the PRX . Great video !
Ive been waiting out for a midsized PRX but this eco-drive may have just taken my money. I agree with pretty much all your thoughts on this one. Only thing that is a little annoying is that you'd think after 100 years of making watches you'd be able to match the finish of the case to a bracelet.
I had a Citizen Promaster GMT titanium Eco Drive over 20 years ago and loved it. So good I bought one for my Dad too. I have lots of automatics but have been looking to get another Eco Drive and this is an absolute stonker of a watch. It will replace a few Casio's that I don't wear as often as I thought I would. Looks like a perfect grab and go.
Ecodrives are fantastic movements no doubt! This watch really is a great one its great knowing that itll always be ready to go and so long as it goes outside every once in a while that itll keep on ticking. Its more subtle than I expected which for me is a big plus point definitely makes it far more versatile. Hope you get one soon!
I like the style of the automatic with the small seconds. But i like the eco drive function on the other. give a hybrid version, with a quick release bracelet and i'll buy 2 of em.. I hope they come out with some other options for these soon. i really want one
@@mariostevenquijivix5752 i bought mine in person, in a local store. And the best link/price obviously depends on where you live. I am in Europe. NJ0180-80Z is the reference - just search for it on the internet.
Yeah honestly quartz ends up being a selling point for me on most watches lol! The PRX 35 is a really cool watch and I actually prefer it over my 40mm version!
The salmon dial looks super weird to me, as it is too close to the skin tone. xD But I would also go for the Eco Drive version! Great accuracy, unlimited power if you don't live in a cave that has no lights, perfectly sized, super handsome and well priced.
Do you know what the reference/model number is for the Salmon dial? I don't see the Salmon dial eco drive listed on the Citizen US website, but that color looks great!
Great looking watch, the dial is fantastic Subtle yet special enough to keep things interesting. It looks good on the wrist as well. Gotta say I'm a fan of the ecodrive more too, more classic
Yeah the dial is just the right amount of interesting without getting wild or bold! Just enough to keep the wearer interested in it while still being super versatile. Yeah the ecodrive is definer the more classic looking of the two and the fact that it's got a day function is the icing on the cake. Glad they gave it a day date vs just a date
I have the automatic in green and love it, Citizen and Casio really now how to produce inexpensive great watches. Not a fan of the pin and collar system, but that being said the bracelet fits fantastic and the fact that the clasp is titanium somehow makes it feel a bit less cheaper than an ordinary stamped clasp.
The green dial looks so good I was so close to getting it instead of the blue! Yeah agreed, citizen and Casio make amazing watches for the price, and the seconds hand hit every mark on every quartz citizen I've owned have which is such a feat considering more expensive brands can't manage to get it right. I've heard the same for Casio as well. You make a good point about the stamped clasp lol! I think for me it comes down to feeling the lightness of the clasp and knowing that it's light because it's titanium instead of it being light just bc it's cheap
I still like the PRX better because for some reason, citizen refuses to make a smaller version of this. They got 800 models of this watch and all of them are the same size.
I'm a hybrid watch lover; I have a couple of Citizen Eco Drives but even those sometimes leave a small, circular "battery burn" (my term) on my wrist so I migrated to automatics and/or NATO straps. I also bought a Casio Oceanus T-200 a couple of years back which seems to have a lot in common with this Zenshin. Any thoughts as to how the two compare? I'm in the mood for a new watch and was leaning heavily towards an automatic micro-brand but your review magnified my own ambivalence!
@@Sunnygoor I'll try. I develop a small, battery sized round red/dry area on my wrist right under where I surmise the battery sits. Nato straps give me a layer of protection but when I wear my automatic watches, no issues.
@@Sunnygoor Well, I still think that's mostly true. I think it's more my personal skin sensivity than a general rule. It also didn't happen til I'd had and mostly wore the watches (happened with two of 'em) for at least 3-4 years. I still have them in rotation but I make it a point not to wear them around the clock (24+ hours in a row).
Technically its possible however it would need to be made specifically for this watch. I'm not sure Citizen sells separate straps for this now but I really hope they do soon bc it would look great on a rubber strap
theres a clip of the rotor sound in the video (not sure what time exactly) but id say to hear it you would need to actively listen for it. That is unless you are in a very quiet room then you'll notice it. it doesnt affect me that much overall
@@dannyfree1120 I'm pretty sure i can call you some how and you won't mind... Same as the owner of this channel, that changed the video title to be more search friendly, but forgot to drop me a like for pointing the correct name. Cheers!
I think Citizen has done a good job here, it is comfortable and light on the wrist, and has surpassed Tissot PRx in terms of design, but it is still behind the Tissot brand in terms of its mechanism.
Yeah citizen has done well and id agree in terms of the mechanical movements however between the ecodrive and the quartz in the PRX, I much prefer the ecodrive
@@thewatchidiot Ecodrive models are assertive and their dial designs are perfect. If I were you, I would choose Citizen instead of battery-powered PRX. Yess.😍😍
Your measurements are wrong. Automatic dial is 40.5mm while Quartz is 39mm. So also all remaining measurements are different. Also it's not 200m water resistance it's only 100m.

thats a good trade! Citizen has been on a role glad you're enjoying both!

The day/date in blue and green look great.
The automatic dial is too 'busy' for my liking so I opted for the Ecodrive
Wish there was an eco drive tsuyosa small seconds. that watch is gorgeous, but i really admire the eco drive movement.

Love that salmon dial. If they put it in an oyster style case, reduced the size to 37-38 mm and dropped the day complication it would be perfect.

Just got a Tsuyosa with a yellow dial in the US. Where you get the titanium automatic one, not seeing it on any websites.
I ordered mine from a Shop in Spain called Relojesdemoda 320 shipped get it this monday
It’s called zenshin in other countries and Forza in US
