- The integrated bracelet sports watch (IBSW) was born with the Genta designed Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and the Patek Philippe Nautilus and recently their popularity has reached new heights and it has reached new heights in terms of price.
Thankfully, over the past few years many more affordable versions have been coming out for us mere mortals who want to get the unique integrated bracelet sports watch experience without crippling debt. The Tissot PRX arguably set this affordable IBSW segment off when it was released and since then it has been the standard. Christopher Ward released their popular The Twelve and Citizen released the ever popular Tsuyosa.
But Citizen has just released what i think is the new standard bearer for the affordable integrated sports watch segment. The Titanium Zenshin / Forza (NJ0180-80 and the AW0130-85). When I saw that a more angular titanium version of the Tsuyosa was being released I knew I had to get one. In fact I got two.
So in this video I’m going to get into the details of these two new watches from Citizen and I’ll go over the differences as well to help you decide which one to get. I’ll also be showing these next to my Tissot PRX just so you can get a better sense of what each of these watches are like.
*********THE BLUE DIAL AUTOMATIC IS FOR SALE**********
I’m selling my blue dial auto because I don't need two of these watches! So the condition is of course basically brand new (just one of the tiniest dings is ever seen on the case). Box and papers are included. As far as I know these watches aren't being sold in the US so by buying it through me you won’t have to deal with the import hassles I went through.
If you’re interested, email me at thewatchidiot@gmail.com WITH YOUR SHIPPING ZIP CODE so I can get myself a quote. I'll pay for first $50 of shipping costs which basically means free shipping for the vast majority of people.

great video and wrist shots
They both look great!
I sold my PRX and bought the Zenshin and Tsuyosa. Stunning watches !
thats a good trade! Citizen has been on a role glad you're enjoying both!
Bought one of the automatics (turquoise dial) from masters in time for about $400. I like it much better than my tsuyosa. I’m a sucker for titanium, and the small seconds hand looks great. It came in last Tuesday and I wore it the rest of the week. It will be getting regular wrist time lol
You had me at getting the quartz :) I agree. The Eco-Drives are just so cool.
I got the PRX 35 though, I wanted something smaller for a change.
Yeah honestly quartz ends up being a selling point for me on most watches lol! The PRX 35 is a really cool watch and I actually prefer it over my 40mm version!
the mamacoo would be super cute during the fall with a nude or tan or even tonal outfit! i’m thinking a tan wool coat with that bag!!
I have both the Citizen Tsuyosa and the Tissot PRX and I feel like I like them equally however methinks the new small seconds Tsuyosa edges out the PRX . Great video !
Yes, I agree👍❤
Bought a Citizen Promaster Tough last month. My first Citizen.....and yes to be a broken record.....Citizen is so under rated. Great vid as always man!!!
That's a great watch fmto get as a first citizen! And yeah citizens are very much underrated no matter how many times we say it😁 Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, hope you keep enjoying your promaster tough for a long time coming!
So right. I've got a tough, a fugu and GMT. Sooooo much better than my Seikos (my older addiction)
I had a Citizen Promaster GMT titanium Eco Drive over 20 years ago and loved it. So good I bought one for my Dad too. I have lots of automatics but have been looking to get another Eco Drive and this is an absolute stonker of a watch. It will replace a few Casio's that I don't wear as often as I thought I would. Looks like a perfect grab and go.
Ecodrives are fantastic movements no doubt! This watch really is a great one its great knowing that itll always be ready to go and so long as it goes outside every once in a while that itll keep on ticking. Its more subtle than I expected which for me is a big plus point definitely makes it far more versatile. Hope you get one soon!
Ive been waiting out for a midsized PRX but this eco-drive may have just taken my money. I agree with pretty much all your thoughts on this one.
Only thing that is a little annoying is that you'd think after 100 years of making watches you'd be able to match the finish of the case to a bracelet.
I've been trying to find the quartz tsuyosa in the citizen website... I can't find it
Great looking watch, the dial is fantastic Subtle yet special enough to keep things interesting. It looks good on the wrist as well. Gotta say I'm a fan of the ecodrive more too, more classic
Yeah the dial is just the right amount of interesting without getting wild or bold! Just enough to keep the wearer interested in it while still being super versatile. Yeah the ecodrive is definer the more classic looking of the two and the fact that it's got a day function is the icing on the cake. Glad they gave it a day date vs just a date
Can you please let me know if the lug-lug distance of 46.6 mm includes the end-links? Thanks 🙂
I'm quite a fan of Citizen Eco-Drive watches, I have a few old ones that are still working just fine after 10 years. or more I've not purchased a new one in a very long time though as my tastes have changed over the years. The Quartz would be my choice as well I think. As you mention the seconds hand hits the markers perfectly just like my old ones and I'd add my Casio analog watches to that as well. Can I justify one? Maybe who knows but for now I'm OK with what I have. Oh and I had to laugh at the Pissot TRX blooper. Which on that note I do now have a digital PRX smaller version (the display looks larger) , why? Well I'm a motor racing fan and the chronograph is brilliant for timing multiple consecutive laps (think of a fly back but you get to read the time and write the lap time down before looking at the next lap.) and it's different and harks back to the time when I was growing up. With a 'normal' chronograph you would time every other lap hence back in the day the pit crew would use two stop watches. I like it. As always many thanks for sharing.
Seiko should really make the small second as the Eco-drive variant while the full size second hand as automatic to have the smooth sweep motion....
At least here in Europe the salmon dial is also available on the automatic
I have much respect for the Citizen. love the Eco Drive. This watch looks fantastic. However, I have to give the win here to the Tissot. The curves of the case. The angle, taper, fit and finish of the bracelet give it a more distinct 70's vibe. I personally in this watch prefer the minimalistic and elegant sunburst dial on the quartz version. I just received the 40 mm blue quartz PRX and have to say it is stunning on my eight-inch wrist. the watch is so much more then I'd hoped for. At the end of the day of course, it is a matter of personal taste. Be true to thine own self and purchase what you like. 👍👍
Salmon dial is not quartz only! I own an automatic with the Salmon dial. It is a lovely watch.
Do you have the link to the automatic?
@@mariostevenquijivix5752 NJ0180-80Z is the reference code. A link...it depends on where you live. Google it.
@@mariostevenquijivix5752 i bought mine in person, in a local store. And the best link/price obviously depends on where you live. I am in Europe. NJ0180-80Z is the reference - just search for it on the internet.
I have the automatic in green and love it, Citizen and Casio really now how to produce inexpensive great watches. Not a fan of the pin and collar system, but that being said the bracelet fits fantastic and the fact that the clasp is titanium somehow makes it feel a bit less cheaper than an ordinary stamped clasp.
The green dial looks so good I was so close to getting it instead of the blue! Yeah agreed, citizen and Casio make amazing watches for the price, and the seconds hand hit every mark on every quartz citizen I've owned have which is such a feat considering more expensive brands can't manage to get it right. I've heard the same for Casio as well.
You make a good point about the stamped clasp lol! I think for me it comes down to feeling the lightness of the clasp and knowing that it's light because it's titanium instead of it being light just bc it's cheap
Why is the titanium with the offset secondhand impossible to find for sale?
Technically its not for sale in the US it has to be imported which is what I did and they are quite popular. (If you happen to want the blue dial version I'm selling mine! info in the description)
Just got a Tsuyosa with a yellow dial in the US. Where you get the titanium automatic one, not seeing it on any websites.
I ordered mine from a Shop in Spain called Relojesdemoda 320 shipped get it this monday
It’s called zenshin in other countries and Forza in US
The Salmon dial is tempting....
The salmon dial is a mighty fine looking dial
Really cute watches. Thanks for the video.
Is it possible to change the bracelet for a rubber strap?
Technically its possible however it would need to be made specifically for this watch. I'm not sure Citizen sells separate straps for this now but I really hope they do soon bc it would look great on a rubber strap
How loud is the movement rotor?
theres a clip of the rotor sound in the video (not sure what time exactly) but id say to hear it you would need to actively listen for it. That is unless you are in a very quiet room then you'll notice it. it doesnt affect me that much overall
I still like the PRX better because for some reason, citizen refuses to make a smaller version of this. They got 800 models of this watch and all of them are the same size.
citizen 😍
They're pretty amazing!
Where are you able to buy these? Citizen isn't selling them in the US.
Yeah not sure why citizen isn't selling these in the US, I had to import it I got mine from a dutch site masters in time. (Btw Im selling my blue dial auto since I don't need two of these watches lol so if you happen to be interested and you want to skip the import fees you can email me, details in the description👍)
@@thewatchidiot Ahh thank you, I was actually looking for the silver dial in either eco or auto. Thanks anyways.
@MrWhiterunGuard no problem! The silver dial looks really tempting, hope you get one soon😁
I think Citizen has done a good job here, it is comfortable and light on the wrist, and has surpassed Tissot PRx in terms of design, but it is still behind the Tissot brand in terms of its mechanism.
Yeah citizen has done well and id agree in terms of the mechanical movements however between the ecodrive and the quartz in the PRX, I much prefer the ecodrive
@@thewatchidiot Ecodrive models are assertive and their dial designs are perfect. If I were you, I would choose Citizen instead of battery-powered PRX. Yess.😍😍
That small second hand 🤦
No integrated bracelets would be better.
Agreed. That feature is a dealbreaker for me.
Same here, I want to be able to swap out.
The models from this video are from Zenshin line. Don't call them Tsuyosa Titanium
Weirdly Citizen calls it something else in the US. I read the post but completely forgot,, its called the Forza
Chill dude
Pretty sure he could call them the speedmaster Daytona if he really wanted. None of your business really is it?
@@dannyfree1120 I'm pretty sure i can call you some how and you won't mind... Same as the owner of this channel, that changed the video title to be more search friendly, but forgot to drop me a like for pointing the correct name. Cheers!
@@OZerOro it wasnt the content of your comment that I took offence to, it was the tone you took. You basically sound like an arsehole.
Nice but priced too high, also pressed clap too
i still like my prx better :D
the prx is still a a great watch!
Sorry, the PRX simply has the better design. ❤
