Robert Smith is not only a brilliant musician, and good guy, he is also very intelligent. Yes that was a very profound statement but Robert would never ask anyone not to believe in him just as much as he woulkdnt ask anyone to believe in him.

@ajittffcure I would say... with the intelligence that my humble mind sees in him, that he meant maybe it would bring about peace in a way.... at least for the fanatics. There are fanatics in every religion, not just the Muslim religion, and if the religions could stop trying to prove that they are the only way of thinking, there would be less war......... Religion has been the reason for so many wars and problems. I believe in God, but I don't say I'm right and everyone else is wrong.

Pity that such a thoughtful man hasn’t thought about ‘godless/religionless’ societies and how corrupt they too can be (China, Russia etc). That’s the point: corruption and immorality are the roots of discontent, not belief in a Creator and morality. Any vehicle can and will be used for corruption, be it religion, democracy or tribalism etc. These distinctions are not ones he’s thought about, otherwise he wouldn’t make such a stupid remark! In any event, he is a talented man whom is gifted, though he sadly disregards the Bestower of said gifts
