Death and Dying

- Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy with urgency because he understood that his death was near-and His foremost concern remained the preaching of the Gospel. Facing the reality of death, Paul recognized that his life had not been wasted but was being poured out for God. This calm and direct approach to death contrasts greatly with that of our contemporary culture. In this message, Alistair Begg encourages us to consider that judgment follows death and to trust in Christ’s offer of salvation as we face our own mortality.
Preached: 05/17/2015
Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:6
Alistair Begg has helped me so much. His teaching is clear and real. I thank God for him
I feel the same. I’m ever so grateful to God for Alistair.
Amen. As a minister myself I listen to him daily. On several occasions I've asked myself what am I doing in ministry and on those occasions his preaching was what I needed that day at that moment to keep me focused.
Thank you Lord Jesus !
Thank you for your ministry of the Word so clearly and lovingly presented.
Amen. Thank you God for Jesus. Thank you Alistair.
Thank you, Jesus!
thank you for making Christ all the more beautiful to us believers!
Thank you Alistair you do amazing Sermons and always with a little humour thrown in 😊
Alister is brilliant
I have something to ask you dear pastor Begg,at the death of Jesus did His spirit go to heaven ? And returned to Him for His resurrection on the third day?
Thank you!
Wow! Thank you! So blessed to here this!❤️🙏
Love your work Pastor Begg. How do you reconcile the following texts in the light of this sermon? Nowhere does Scripture indicate that when we die we go straight to heaven. The reality is that we wait in the grave for the resurrection; either the first (Rev 20:5) or the second (Rev 20:14)
2Thess 3:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
Eccl 9:5 For the living know that they will die;
But the dead know nothing,
And they have no more reward,
For the memory of them is forgotten.
Job 14:10-12 But man dies and is laid away;
Indeed he breathes his last
And where is he?
As water disappears from the sea,
And a river becomes parched and dries up,
So man lies down and does not rise.
Till the heavens are no more,
They will not awake
Nor be roused from their sleep.
My aim is not to contradict, but find truth and eliminate confusion. Kind regards.
Luke 23:43
And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise."

Let's face it...
If you believe in Christ to be Gods son then the word of God says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. This is what the Bible teaches. Not one thing you commented comes from God. If you do not believe then you would go to the place of torment hell.
