What an excellent, enjoyable and sensible video. I bought mine about 8 years ago, used. I have built my set up around this camera. I sometimes think of upgrading. But i think what is the point. 24 mp is more than enough. It does everything I want to do. Sure its a bit heavier than the new mirrorless, but I use a monopod or tripod most of the time, si it's not an issue. I have all nikon glass, so the results (image quality wise) are just great.
Ive owned a D610 for few years now I love it.
So good!
The d610 is the best FF camera on the market today price wise. It’s a masterpiece. I’d like more pixels to print big, as I like to have the option to view details from a close distance sometimes. However, for the time being, using good glass with it produces stellar results.
Thanks for this. My workhorse is also my D610. I bought mine new. 2022 was a year of creative block and I really needed to hear this video.
That button in front of of the camera at the bottom is the Fn button. It is used as a short cut to camera functions that can be set up in
custom settings. Among other things. Your videos are terrific. You positive upbeat attitude is uplifting to my moral.
Aw thanks for the kind words. Glad I am uplifting to you! That made my day!
I use mine for crop version..if needed😇
I’m just getting in to photography and have sold a telescope to get a used D610 and a couple of used primes (50mm and 20mm). Great to see your video - sounds like I’ve picked a nice camera. Thanks for your thoughts
You can do anything with it. Make art!
I've never seen any of your content but I did enjoy this video I typed in Nikon d610 just to see what videos are out there because I just ordered one it's in mint condition with 930 shutter clicks, on its way from Japan. I paid $460 for it. It should be here soon. I'm excited to receive it. 📷
It's a great one. You'll make many great photographs with it!
I bought the D600 when they first came out. Due to the shutter dirty issues. Nikom sent ,me the D610. I still use my D610 regularly it has been a wonderful camera.
Yep. So good.
I’m here because or your recent drop 7/16 and you mentioned the 610. I’ve been making a little coin with my photography lately, so I can justify an upgrade. I know it’s an older camera, but most my glass is Nikon, so I’d like to stay with a Nikon camera. I was looking at the Nikon DF because it reminds me of my F4, so the learning curve would be low. The price of a D610, however fits the present budget and I won’t have to wait for my tax return. Any thoughts on DF vs the 610? Thank K.
What a refreshing perspective...well done. I just purchased a D610 from MPB for $504 (shutter count 405!!!) and hope to get it tomorrow. I traded my D800e for a lot of reasons and yes, I tend to leave my Leica M and SL home...sigh. This video was a great reminder of why we are photographers and what is important. Just subscribed...thank you for a well done video. RJ from Doylestown
Thanks. And Doylestown. I used to live in Lambertville NJ when I was a photojournalist for The Times of Trenton.
Picked one up a couple months ago for less than $500. Going to buy another one when I launch my real estate photo business. Maybe a 3rd for my 50mm. Two card slots... great value.
Yep!
How are tot liking it ? Been thinking of picking one up myself. Getting tired of mirrorless and there is plenty of F lenses out there
@@sdhute Went with a D3 instead for $400. The D750 has a fold out screen which might be more useful in the longrun. vs D610. D4s is around $800. These were KEH prices in Ex+ so shopping around may yield some savings.
Well said. It is a beauty and it is where can one go. De-"lightful" story telling. God bless.
Thanks for sharing Ken! The Nikon D610 is definitely a great camera. I sold mine with 315k exposures (still worked great) for a Nikon Df. Your proof that we should not discount digital photography. I also shoot film, but there are times I just take the Df out and shoot street. Sometimes I just take the Nikon D3 out, it’s large, it’s full frame, but I get great 8x10 prints, which is about as large as I make 35mm prints, if I print bigger then that’s what I use the D800 or Medium Format for. Different tools for different jobs.
Ken, I love my Fujifilm X100F. I hate carrying big bricks, especially with my arthritis. FF is way overrated.
I love my X100T and original X100, too!
Sure! :-)
D600 is fine, too!
I also use a D610 for my everyday camera with a Tamron 28-300 lens (and an old 18-35 Nikon in the bag if I grab it. It's a decent camera, although I can't brag about the ISO on it. It's not what I pack if I'm going on any planned shoot - but it's good at catching things on the spur of the moment. I enjoyed the video - thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for the comment and watching, Charles.
I have a pile of old Nikon glass. Just bought a mint d600 for £350. Haven’t used it much yet. Its a great tool
Nice!
I ordered a D610 yesterday. 😁I couldn’t love the Z6. I love my D3S, but it’s big & heavy to take everywhere. Looking forward to trying it.
Nice. Good luck with it.
Very true!
By the way that was a steal $300 for 1900 actuations 😃
I just bought one in 2023 for 400 bucks with
3000 clicks …. I hope I can enjoy it as much as you do.
i have a D600 with a GRIP for 400 Canadian dollars and found a few super wide screw drive lenses 10-17 tokina and another tamron for street ......I love it also with a old NIKON 70-210 F4 lens all great walk around street ...............the camera was like new and I got the aftermarket grip for 15 bucks /////////to me why even bother with film for street when you can click away basically for free and equipment under 800 bucks with all the lenses you would need .......thanks for you vids Sir ...really enjoy them ......be well
Great set up. It Rocks! Thanks, glad you like. Now go out and get working!
A lot of these "old" digital cameras work just great. If you can deal with shooting film you can deal with a 10 year old dslr.
Exactly!
Nice vid man! Subscribed. You can get the hiss out of audio using audacity it’s free and easy. Make more vids on this cam. Curious if anyone tried the firmware hack and results they had on 610.
$500-$600 for a D610 with reasonable shutter count. Certainly there's lower priced ones out there. I'm looking at the D610 now as my first full-frame.
I think by now, you can find one for $300-400.
@@kennethwajda Maybe from a private seller. But not a used retailer like KEH or Mpb. They are still in the $500-600 range.
@@chadashton7029 Yeah, I'm thinking of what I see on Craigslist.
@@kennethwajda Yeah...I'll have to check around. I've had good luck buying used both from private sellers and used retailers.
@@chadashton7029 Good luck!
When you find a $700 28mm f/1.8G, an excellent lens, in “like new” condition for $75. Play it cool, poker face. ;)
Exactly!
I just bought a d610 and a 50 1.4d for $545. Both in great shape.
Sweet. It'll last a long time, so good!
28mm f1.8 for 75 dollars ? dude impossible where did you buy this lens .. please let us know .. the price is way higher .. hell you can't find anymore even 1970 lenses for that price haha
A yard sale of a photographer! She just wanted to sell it all cheap. Good find when you can find it.
Think the button is a dof checker.
I shoot all my videos with a Nikon D610.
1900 clicks and really battered? How come?
Tiny negs
Or none at all.
