Dang, I just bought my Mathews V3/31 with ABB string. But it's a awesome bow with a Stan/PertX release. Mathews is my bow for life. Thanks Inside Out for great videos and instruction.
@@dieselpusher2548 yea. It’s definitely not new technology. APA has it. I believe Hoyt also had it back in the day. Leave it up to Mathew’s marketing. They will make anything new again
Love your reviews, I bought the Vertix in December of last year and I’m a 30.2” draw and quickly realized the Vertix wouldn’t work. Just left the shop today with a V3X 33.. night and day, gosh it’s amazing! Expensive mistake buying the Vertix! Lesson learned
Back in the mid 90's, high country had some bows with a dovetail cut in the riser. It not a new idea but it is useful if the sights have enough adjustment.
Love my VXR, but running a Hamskea rest & a Black Gold Pro Dovetail, so I'm less excited due to these issues on a personal level. Still interested however, happy they made a longer ATA bow, wish it had a little more speed
I’m a PSE shooter but that SAS system basically has me me sold. Love that i wouldn’t have to spend money on a press just to add twists and do minor tuning on my bow. Also love the dovetail mount. I didn’t love the draw on the V3 and can’t wait to shoot this bow
You already go way beyond most other reviews on the speed tests, so I hate to ask this, but I would love to know the speed of a heavy arrow (550 - 650 grain) @ 75#
+1 Really the test would only need 350, 450, 550 and 650 with a cool excel curve that would show if the speed decreases linearly or does efficiency grow as weight increases.
Absolutely. Especially because of the work coming out from Ed Ashby and his thoughts on heavy arrows. Currently at 575 grains and looking to go heavier next year
I have waited 10 months for my V3 to come in at my local archery shop only to be told Mathews dropped them as a dealer because they are to small. I am getting this story form the local shop owner. If this is true shame on you Mathews archery for not looking out for the little guy. Looks like a nice bow but probably won't buy another Mathews product. Your videos are great. You do a good job.
8:07 doesn't QAD have some sort of patent / intellectual property rights to the integrate dovetail mounting option? Maybe hamskea pay them to incorporate it?
I bought this bow new from the dealer. It was alright. My Bowtech holds better. Trying to find a grip for this bow was a nightmare. Engage grip was horrible shooting off the riser wasn’t nice because the thumb location was sharp and rubbed your thumb raw. Ultimately sold it and bought an Athens Axxis 35. Maybe a smidge slower than the v3x 33 but smoother and more stable.
the SAS is a cool system, bu the only thing you can physically remove from the bow is the string, you can't change cables, but adding or taking away twists to time the cams is doable however
@@InsideOutPrecision thanks for the reply, you're correct sir I forgot Mathews wraps their unserved yoke cables the way they do after confir action google search . I'm looking forward to your Levitate review as I have one incoming
Shot it the other day, feels good for sure. It’s down to the V3x and the new Prime Inline 1 or 3. Prime’s seem to keep speeds up with heavy arrows better than most. And you can order 80# limbs, as opposed to 75 with Mathews… Would love to see your thoughts comparing these two bows once you get the primes in!
Great video on Mathew’s. Very nice Did notice a definite “squeak” at end of draw though.Maybe your left bow handed shooting right has something to do with it. Hey how does this compare to the pse evl 34? I shot this the other day but havent shot the pse yet. Can get a wicked deal on a used evl 34 and was just curious if this one is better, worse, or about the same?
I’m not gonna make a whole video on cases for a particular bow, but I can give you some suggestions here. Mathew’s makes a case specifically for the V3x, and Easton makes one called the Bow-Go case that’s fits it well too.
Are the actual draw lengths still measuring longer than the listed length? ie my V3 with a 30.5in draw mod is nearly 31in on a draw board, which is perfect for me.
Just a shot question, Why do you favor Hamskea over QAD so much. As a guy who manages a pro shop myself we sell easily 50 QAD's to every Hamskea. The Hamskea is bulkier, kills about an inch of brase height and is a pain to put on sometimes with the angle of the new angled cable guide bar. The QAD is sleeker and can be put right up against the riser which does not kill cut your brase height. The easy adjustment of a hamskea does favor the field hunter over a cable driven QAD and it might just come down to that as I am east coast and mostly tree stand hunters here........
They are much more reliable in our experience. If the cord stretches or slips at all with a qad it won't drop. Also they only support the arrow for maybe 5-6 inches, where as a hamskea or limb driven rest will support it for over 20". Seems like it takes less adjustment to the bow or rest to bring in a bad tear through paper. As for brace height, the position on the rest doesn't effect the brace height of the bow. If you have ever played with torque tuning youll see that a rest that is set further back ( to a certain point) will actually effect the arrow less on shot where the shooter torques the bow. Thats why so many pro target shooters shoot a blade style rest pushed as far back as they can get it.
Is it worth the upgrade from a vxr 28 to the 29? I have a 27" draw or is it worth the wait until they come out with a newer model and not just a rendition of the v line?
actually i'm always wondering why the manufacturers don't just lengthen the limb bolt screws to make it bow press free? should be the easiest method to get rid of bow press i suppose, anybody knows what's the difficulty?
I have a quick question man you're the guy to ask I have a 26 and a half 27 in draw and I want a bow I can do 3D Target with I can't really put my finger on one that I should buy any suggestions. Agreed. I saw a comparison vid for speed and the traverse was within 1fps for each arrow weight (ruclips.net/video/lR0kAFtmvVk/видео.html) when a lefty v3x comes into his store, a versus battle would be cool to see.
So...1.5" longer ATA than VXR (2019), and another cut into the riser to put the sight. AH! and giving EVL34 speeds with 1/2" more DL (as Mathews usually does). Mathews has been living from the Vertix 4 years now. I hope you review the Inline 5 soon, that's innovation.
I think because they still have the Atlas it would remove too many sales of it. I have one and I'm going to get this as I'm 31" and Atlas is way too slow even at my draw I don't hit 280fps with 510gr arrows
“Fan boy” syndrome aside, Compare the V3X to the Hoyt Ventum 33 which was the 2021 Bow of the Year, in my opinion. They would seem similar. The Ventum 33 was quieter, smoother, easier to draw and had less hand vibe than the V3.
