I'm 24 years old and can, without any hesitation, say that Elvis is my favorite singer and entertainer ❤️ I'm proud to say that I will be part of the new generation to promote his talent and his love for the music
So, let me get this straight, Elvis, after an utterly masterful musical, soulful performance, looks at the audience and says ‘thank you’....we certainly are not worthy. I’m awestruck by this mans genius.
When he hits those high notes, I’m surprised that he didn’t blow up those old speakers. His voice was so powerful when he belted it out. I liked rock n roll from Elvis onward.
I was very lucky to be there as a boy of 7 years old thanks to my uncle, it is now 50 years ago and I still remember it as the day of yesterday. Believe me that there are not enough words in a dictionary to describe how much I miss Elvis Presley. I was also on this funeral August 18 and with August 16 it is the most difficult day for me. Elvis Presley was, is and will always be my fascination and inspiration. THE GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is it my imagination, or does this guy seem to get even better the more you listen? I know he's just an entertainer, but i just cannot even imagine a world without Elvis......
I just spontaneously started to cry in the middle of it. That's his power. Perfect voice, perfect moves, perfect looks, perfect conection to the song and the band and other vocals, perfect emotion that he puts in it and is able to pass to us, perfect timing to mix depth and a light smile, then depth again... how was this guy even real? Just PERFECT.
I actually cry watching this. Seeing what an absolutely amazing performer Elvis was. And then knowing what was to come in a mere 5 years. My biggest regret in life is that I'll never be able to see the King in concert.
I was 7 yrs old when Elvis died ..I don't remember it ..but my dad told me I say Infront of the TV crying .. I've been an Elvis fan ever since.....im now 52 and I live in England 👍👍👍
at 3:40, watch him go up on the note and smile at the backup singer, and the smile on his face. Then watch it again and watch her approval. she shouts "yeah" and smiles. Two singers sharing a playful moment, having fun, and bringing joy to people.
That is amazing, I was just going to say this exact comment. They were always there giving him a smile and a shout. You can always hear them on the live recordings. Can't believe its the first comment.
I love rock and roll from the '60s and '70s, although I was born only in 1975. I'm a die-hard Led Zeppelin fan. I love the Beatles, I love U2, I love the Eagles. I've seen Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Page & Plant, and many other legendary musicians/bands in concert. But if I could go back in time and attend only one concert, without any question or hesitation whatsoever it would be an Elvis Presley concert. I've adored Elvis for about 30 years, and he will always be my single favorite entertainer who ever existed. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, will ever be able to top Elvis's talent, charisma, mystique, aura, or whatever you want to call it. To me, he's become more than just a human being. He's almost like a superhuman character in some sort of legend told over many centuries. This video clip of Elvis is absolutely jaw-dropping and mind-blowing. I've seen this clip many, many times over the years, and I still get chills and feel emotional when I see it. This performance of this song takes me into some other dimension where nothing else matters. Elvis will live on for countless generations to come.
@@nspector That would be a tough choice! I always thought maybe something ca. 1972 like this one. I love it when he started with See See Rider instead of That's All Right. And I think '72 was a high point in his touring career since he had his show well developed and he hadn't yet reached the stage (pun intended) when he was sort of going through the motions of performing. From the audio & video that I've seen/heard, I'd say probably his evening show in Hampton Roads on April 9, 1972. But honestly, if I could go back in time, I'd be happy & thrilled seeing any concert of his!
@@ed801975 Ahh, good choice. Thanks for answering. Me, especially from that year, I think I'd go to Madison Square Garden. My absolute favourite version of this. Goose bumps every time. Not only are Elvis' vocals incredible, that band!! Amazing understanding between them. Ronnie just knocks it out of the park. What a drummer!!!

This is such an excellent version of what Elvis just called “Bridge”. It was filmed on April 14th, 1972 at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina for use in “Elvis On Tour”. When Elvis and Estelle Brown of the Sweet Inspirations (who was incredibly versatile herself BTW) hit that high note together and she backs away from the mic and yells “yeah” and Elvis smiles and acknowledges her..that’s a spontaneous, light hearted and great moment to see. Elvis loved this vocally challenging song and performed it in concert periodically from the time it was released in the summer of 1970 (by its original songwriters Simon & Garfunkel, of course) until the his last concert appearance in the summer of 1977. Oh, to have actual, decent footage with sound!! Sadly, memories fade.
Simon and Garfunkel did a good job on this song, but Elvis owns it. The greatest entertainer this world has ever seen, and will see. Elvis left us too soon, God only knows why. He had the looks, the charisma, the talent, and the voice. Other entertainer's may have one or two, but Elvis had the whole package, one of a kind entertainer. Michael Jackson to his credit would be second. Elvis is at peace with God, and will lead God's choir when he is asked to.
Elvis doesn't "own" it. What nonsense. He did an incredible rendition of it here, undeniably. Elvis tended to oversing a lot, of course. That's the case in a song like My Boy and I Can Help.
WOW... You must've heard a different version of "My Boy" than myself...an undiscovered gem by some fans...If you don't get the emotional power of that performance...I've never heard that song done better..."I can help" was a filler..."Pieces of my life"...Gorgeous...And yes, Elvis "owns" "Bridge..."
My Mom took me to my first concert which was Elvis. I'm very thankful for that. She also took me to my second concert in "77 to see my favorite group at age 11 which was the KISS Love Gun tour! Awesome memories!! Thanks Mom
Only Elvis could take such an originally morose song and turn it into a burning triumph like this. Some other interesting points of note; - It goes to show JUST how talented singers were back in the day. I mean look at the old ass mic he's using and he STILL sounds incredible. - The fact Elvis looks at and even has fun with (Hit that high note at 3:41 baby!) his band and backup singers shows his sheer professionalism, dedication to the performance and understanding to pull off such a big arrangement like this, he cannot do it alone - something you'd seldom see in today's big stars. - During the summer season in Vegas when Elvis first started performing this version, Paul Simon attended one of the shows, and, after seeing Elvis perform the song, he was reported to have said, "That's it, we might as well all give up now." Truly one of kind - may his memory be celebrated forevermore.
You can see how happy Elvis is with everything going great, band, backup singers, timing and knowing he picked them, did the arrangement & stage cues with no formal voice or music training. W(ho)TF could do that today. Elvis > GOAT!
That was sheer perfection in every way Elvis you are head and shoulders above any other entertainers your voice is sublime. Who could ever match that performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water not even Paul Simon because he said so in an interview!!!!! 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You can see, hear and feel that there was so much TALENT on that stage and that they all brought in their individual talents and support and appreciated each other on stage. The result? An electrifying live performance ✅
Elvis owned the stage look at his face when he hits the rising crescendo, he knew he nailed it so did J.D. PURE PERFECTION THAT THIS WORLD OR ANY OTHER WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN. GOD BLESS YOU ELVIS WHERE EVER YO UMAY BE.
Well ya know what everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion, doesn't necessarily mean that another person may agree with it one way or another, that's what makes us all individuals, so if that's your opinion and it you're happy with it then more power to ya.

ABSOLUTELY, Jake! This is so well done by him it just makes your head swim...no, not gay, just in awe of this guy...
Jazzz, Absolutely...He knew you didn't create the magic alone...He had the best he could find backing him...
I agree 100 %, Jake Ryder!
That suit is badass!
I want that owl belt
Best version ever....
Elvis was and will always be in a league of his own....
no other singer comes close to this one of kind marvel
My Mom took me to my first concert which was Elvis. I'm very thankful for that. She also took me to my second concert in "77 to see my favorite group at age 11 which was the KISS Love Gun tour! Awesome memories!! Thanks Mom
When did you see Elvis and what do you remember?
Only Elvis could take such an originally morose song and turn it into a burning triumph like this.
Some other interesting points of note;
- It goes to show JUST how talented singers were back in the day.
- During the summer season in Vegas when Elvis first started performing this version, Paul Simon attended one of the shows, and, after seeing Elvis perform the song, he was reported to have said, "That's it, we might as well all give up now."
Truly one of kind - may his memory be celebrated forevermore.
This is what my soul need now,i became calm and peaceful .I must her Elvis evry day
Stunning stuff

The best entertainer of all time period!
I still get goosebumps!!! I am 61 and E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can see how happy Elvis is with everything going great, band, backup singers, timing and knowing he picked them, did the arrangement & stage cues with no formal voice or music training. W(ho)TF could do that today. Elvis > GOAT!
Elvis is the only one who can did a cover better than original singer. Listen to Something in the way she moves by the Beatles soo goood
Absolutely Beautiful!!🙏🙏

Paul Simon and Elvis Presley - a match made in heaven
That was sheer perfection in every way Elvis you are head and shoulders above any other entertainers your voice is sublime. Who could ever match that performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water not even Paul Simon because he said so in an interview!!!!! 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hearing he said that is the only reason I am here watching. I was never a fan, and this didn't change that for me. I'll try the studio version.
Brilliant song king ❤
You can see, hear and feel that there was so much TALENT on that stage and that they all brought in their individual talents and support and appreciated each other on stage. The result? An electrifying live performance ✅
You know it's good when you're applauding at the screen by yourself when the performance ends.
There is ELVIS....
And everyone else.
I have nothing to say this man is a genius how much do I need to throw in the towels.
He is the king and full stop no one can or be born to do what he did and still does in our hearts
Johnny Cash is the real king of music.
CashPresley32 Nah, Johnny is good and all but Elvis could sing any genre of music.

THE KING OF COOL CHARM AND CHARISMA PLUS AN INCREDIBLE VOICE !!!
I love Elvis too, but in my opinion Johnny Cash is the king.
Well ya know what everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion, doesn't necessarily mean that another person may agree with it one way or another, that's what makes us all individuals, so if that's your opinion and it you're happy with it then more power to ya.
At this point Elvis, the band, the Sweets and Stamps were simply PERFECT
