Icons get used from left to right
you get press Icons equal to the number of active party members at the start of a turn up to 4
each action takes up 1 press icon
exploting a weakness or getting a crit will charge a press icon instead of consuming it. as will changing out a demon
A charge icon is the exact same as a normal icon except it cannont be charged anymore.
If you exploit a weakness or crit while you have a charge icon it will charge another icon.
any action not exploitng a weakness or crit will consume a charge icon instead of a uncharged icon if possible.
Missing with an attack or hitting an enemy with an attack they are immune to will instantly consume 2 icons
missing while attempting to apply a status element will only consume the normal 1 icon
while using AOE if you hit an enemy weakness but miss another or another enemy is immune it will consume 2 icons as if you missed the whole attack
Rule of thumb strategies. Try to get 8 turns every round. do not feel the need to exploit weaknesses every action if you have charged icons use them to buff/debuff/heal. Try to avoid using uncharged icons for these whenever possible. AOE is risky try to single target when reasonable.
And here I thought I understood the press turn system, but now after your explanation I don't think I understand it anymore 🤣
Ooh so they made it slightly more forgiving. In Tensei III for Ps2, if you used a skill the enemy absorbed, you lost all your turns. Not half or just two. You were punished by losing everything.
Missing would cost you 2 turns as it does here.
Seems the rules have been consistent over the games. But this seems just slightly more forgiving. What about repel/reflect? In III if you were repelled you lost all your turns
Actually great question I've not gotten far enough for enemies to absorb or reflect skills so it might be the same.
@@purplatypus7405 it works the same as Nocturne, Drain and reflect take all your actions, but there's a new skill, safefuard that doesn't let you lose turns on miss, block, reflect and Drain.
The one combat I haven't figured out how to make it work though is well I saw the trailer Jack Frost King Frost and black Frost attacked together the same time and some kind of ultimate attack?
But I can't figure out how exactly you do that or what that's even called?
This is exactly the kind of videos I need right now since I’m playing it on PS4
how to add more than 4 press turn icons?
Small Note: Aoe versions of skills is MP ineffeicient if you are facing 3 or more with lower skill affinity for a particular skills type, this does not apply to buff and debuff Aoe skills
