I was so on the fence about that my self - I think I would have added them if it did not sell in a week but sold the day I listed it. So it was perfect for the couple that purchased it.
Rae & Chris!!!! What a Beauty!!! As always I so Love your tips!!! loving the background too!! Did I miss that? Ginger-boxer mix-chewed my data cable again!!! Got fixed and moved a very heavy 4 drawer pine cabinet in front!! Dog gone dog!!!
Thank you - I did the wall a few months ago while I was waiting for paint to dry on other projects. I still use my brick wall back drop too so not really been showing it off. Its nice to have choices for back drops depending on the piece. Good moving hiding your data cable from the dog - when mine was a puppy he had a week where all he did was eat usb cables.
I wish I had RUclips when i started doing furniture many many years ago such a good place to learn. Primer and prep are just so important and taking the time to do it right saves so much time later.
This video is right on time for me. I'm on my first project (for myself). I have BIN & 123 following a small project with BIN I tried 123 and didn't believe tannins would be an issue. Something was coming through, just grabbed the BIN. I feel confident moving forward with other pieces with your shared expertise. The gold hardware is exactly what I'm looking for.Thank you.
Glad this helped you - I keep both of those primers on hand but BIN is by far the best you really get what you pay for there. I wish you well on your first project lots to learn and I hope it turns out great.
Rae, just want you to know that my umbrella for patio set….Fantastic!!!! That you did technique on a rug!!! Sitting outside enjoying after a quick rinse off!! 💓🌸💓
@@RIA it has and got new chairs that are bright blue with my green topped umbrella. Chairs were $25 each on sale!!! Wish I could send a pix. Just Love it!!!
What an excellent tutorial! I have a primer question. Have you used Zinsser Smart Prime? I love, love, love BIN… except for the ammonia clean up. Smart Prime claims to be a water based substitute, but I do worry about tannin blocking. Do you have any experience with Smart Prime?
I have never used Smart Prime my self but I have heard some good things about it. I like to use BIN when I know a piece will have heavy bleed through as I know I can trust it to work, the clean up is horrible though. When bleed through is not an issue 123 makes for a great bonding primer at a much lower cost. I think Smart Prime probably falls into a middle ground between them. Id like to pick some up and see how it does but in my area its not very available - I could have it shipped but at that point the price becomes more like BIN which I know will work.
I'm not surprised that it sold quickly, it is stunning. What an improvement! Thank you for sharing.💜💜💜
So glad you liked it - I am glad to be back on furniture again. Funny thing I think i could have sold it twice on the first day.
So excited I couldn’t even watch the video before I like it.
thank you! lol I've not even had time to watch it myself
They all look so good! Love the gold hardware!
That gold is one of my favorites and really good value too.
I would've liked hardware on the foe drawers as well.

It’s hard to believe that it’s the same piece!
Yes it is what big base and wall of hardware made it look so dated - I love the result and clearly my buyer did too.
What a change! And thank you so much for the primer details, I am new to furniture art and those best practices are golden!

That is great it is such a great way to bring those back to life. When I've done it I found it lasted longer than the original color too.

Good job ! 👍
Soo beautiful..🥰
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful! I think the middle blank square would have looked nice with a gold stencil 😊
That is a really nice idea - if I still had it I'd do it.
Nice work. Glad to see Y'all back
