Never, ever in a million years could I have anticipated what the end result would be!! How you imagined the beauty that came from that hot mess is beyond me!! Of course your skills are amazing but it's your creativity that sets you apart!! Bravo!!!
The auction house we picked this up at the guys were taking bets if the piece would get picked up this time. It sold 3 times and each time the buyer paid and refused to take it. Glad I took the chance I knew I would make something nice from it but beyond what I expected too. I love a canvas like this to get creative with.
Absolutely Stunning!!! This piece was a disaster and you took a risk to buy it! What an amazing transformation! All the elements you added to the piece make it GORGEOUS! The grooves, the fake metal details, the black wax and the casters are brilliant interventions! Thanks so much for sharing. I really enjoyed this video
Thank you glad you enjoyed this one, this was a really fun project to do and been looking forwards to getting this video out there. So many things went into it and it came out wonderfully.
I got thrown in a time warp when I saw that dresser (before you started on it)! That style was "in" in I would swear 2005. And I haven't thought about it since! Not those colors, specifically, but that general idea. I think it was particularly aimed at the 'young man' audience, late teens/early 20s. Probably a mom or girlfriend made over the room and painted the dresser. Stripes of different thickness and colors (with one predominant color) would be on the rug, sheets, and curtains, and the walls would be a kind of blue slate with brown or white trim. That really threw me back lol. Your outcome is obviously a MUCH better one than that dresser's last makeover!
I love the way an image or a picture can throw you back in time like that. If it was 'in' in 2005 it sounds like you might have found for motive for this here crime. Done from a good place no doubt but it did not age well.
I found your channel this morning & have watched several of your videos. I am in awe of your knowledge & skills. And love the mix of painted & restored pieces you do. It’s plain to see your passion for making each piece shine. Thank you for sharing.
Hi from Cambridge UK. Congratulations on a spectacular outcome of all your skill, imagination and hard work. I hope that you get a good price for it and that the buyer loves it and appreciates it. Well done for showing each stage without getting boring, you’ve got the balance just right. Loved watching it.
Thank you so much! This was a massive project glad you feel we got the balance right in the edit. I think around 8 hours of footage was cut from what was filmed. I could have made a crazy long version of this one but love to keep the video moving quickly.
Who ever made this knew what they were doing with an eye for grain and running it over the drawer fronts. I am very glad its back on display again. Its a lot of hardware which might not be for everyone and thats okay but it was perfect for someone and sold within just a couple of days.
That piece went from pretty sorry looking to an absolute show stopper. I don’t always like the industrial look but I have to say, I changed my mind. Great job!
Hello from Melbourne, Australia. My first time watching your blog. Loved it! You have some good ideas re adornments and did a lovely job on the surfaces. That wood is so warm and has a lovely sheen now. I could not sell it if I were you. I’d find a place for it near the front door…then you wouldn’t have to lug it up three flights of stairs. You’ll never, ever get another one of that quality and sturdiness. Go on…..keep it…..you know you wanna! 🦘🇦🇺❤️😊
Oh I wanted to but this piece has already gone but I did price it high so its a good trade. The fun of doing this is you never know what pieces you will find next. Full walnut and home made by someone with skill probably wont happen again but you never know.
Incredible job!! You are so talented. That piece is absolutely stunning, like nothing I have ever seen before. I can't imagine the satisfaction you must feel when you take a piece of furniture that looked like this did and turn it in to a masterpiece! Again, incredible work!
Girl, I know you're talented as I watch all your videos. But today you showed your funny side, cracked me up with the sunglasses! And you're right, why would someone paint this dresser, and why paint it so ugly it hurt! The great news is that you turned it into a fabulous piece. Thanks for providing excellent content and entertainment.
I have just discovered your channel and have been binge watching. You are a GREAT teacher and presenter as well as an amazing furniture painter/restorer/etc. I love your artistic take on each painted piece and your appreciation of a beautiful wood . I've watched a lot of channels and you've taught me more than all of them combined. Wish I could give you even more kudos.
Thank you. Pricing is so area specific so I don't like to get into to much. I live in rural NC and I price on the higher end for my area. Though that price would look so low if lived in NYC or LA that people would be asking whats wrong with it.
Great job, it should be a crime to paint such a lovely wood, but it just my pet hate of pretend draws. I would have just put two large cup handles on each draw.
The next one is already done and filmed but sadly Alex is so busy with work right not had time to start editing. Hopefully it wont be to long but at least a couple of weeks away.
Grossss!!! My daughter bought a house and one bedroom was painted the same colour as the top drawer and no kidding I got nauseous! Never experienced anything like that before lol
Spectacular!!!! 💜💜💜
Thank you!!
That is soooo much better! It should last forever.
I think your right, it was made so well and with so much lumber nice to let it out again.
Gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊

The walnut wood looks gorgeous but I don't like that much handles. I would buy other hardware in black.

Think about 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Even though Wally world is now charging $3.98 a quart, it is cheaper than Denatured. OR buy vodka.
