Well done, I feel your pain! Got a mate arriving in a week and I’ve still got 30 models to paint plus 3 hero’s and some terrain to finish before our game.

I still haven't mastered the use of contrast paints. I like the old school layering style but it does take time! 😅

Trying to meet that deadline is giving me anxiety just watching so I don't know how you were feeling. But the army does look great all finished.

@@williampowell6067 silver lining is I now have a pretty sweet 1000 pt Rohan force. At some stage I’ll have to add some royal guard & Theoden but I want to stay clear of riders for a while 🤣 Osgiliath vets are cool, is that for the Rangers of Ithilien LL?
@@dicedrinksanddadjokesRoyal Guard and Theoden would be a great addition! The weird thing is, I’ve been painting LOTR miniatures on and off for about 20 years but never jumped into the game aspect of it. Now I am tho…just need somewhere to join. I’m actually converting Minas Tirith Warriors into vets. It’s been a labor of love. Not even close to finishing. 1000 points! I wonder if I can muster such an army 🥴
I really felt for you on this one mate! I know that feeling of burning out on a batch painting project. I’ve made a new rule for myself to batch paint the base coats of 5 models and then paint the highlights individually on each model.
Yeah man batch painting is rough. It’s a slog to get through and mind numbing essentially painting the same thing on repeat. Now I have a complete Riders of Eomer force though so worth it 😁

I know right! I just can’t help myself, unfortunately I’m a perfectionist and very pedantic. This is why I struggle to speed paint 😂

Hi Adam, hope the tournament was worth the pain of the painting project. 1000pts is a slog especially in such a short time period.
I understand where you're coming from with the repetitive painting. variety is the spice of life! the force looks fantastic. I love the small differences in the shield and cloak colours to differentiate warbands. hopefully now you have a full painted Rohan force you won't have to paint them again. and look good opportunity for you to do a scenario or specific match play on the channel between Rohan and urakai. thanks for the amazing content as always.
Thanks for the kind words Wade 😊 yeah I’m pretty happy to have a full Rohan force now, though eventually I’d like to add, royal guard, Theoden, Eowyn etc… and yeah I’m definitely keen to do some bat reps with them! The tourney was pretty epic, I’m working on editing the vlog now. Hopefully will release it at the end of the week 😁

Obviously understand if you dont want to do a tutorial vid on painting them, but I would be interested in watching it. Planning a Rohan army once my Isengard is painted.
I was wondering what Woodland scenic flocks you'd recommend for MESBG terrain? Im just looking into getting into making my own terrain, and there are an intimidating number of sizes of flocks, colours etc etc. Do you have a couple you consider essential?
Hey thanks Liam! I'll get there with the tutorial, I think I videoed bits and pieces along the way so hopefully not too much of a drama putting something together.
I know what you mean regarding flocks! I quite like decorating my bases with the tile grou/soil mix then sprinkles of fine turf (different colours dependant on theme, I like to use burnt grass for the tundra look) a few highlights of course turf (I usually use dark green) and some tufts. These can be homemade or bought depending on budget. I tend to avoid static grass for bases these days.
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes Thanks! As far as for your forest table tutorial and other terrain, are there particular types of flock and colours that you use all the time? There are so many different sizes and colours on their site haha! I'm think about picking up a couple colours each of fine, coarse turf and clump foliage/bushes
I'm very new to this game, but shouldn't you have dismounted versions of all riders anyway, in case their mounts get killed?

Yes you’re right. I had a handful of dismounts and all my heroes. I just didn’t think I’d need all of them! It’s pretty rare for all of your horses to be killed 😁. Yes my daughter has to put up with many dad jokes 🤣

Care to explain why it is your favourite LL?
It looks thoroughly mediocre (at best) to me - for that highly situational one use "Look to the Sun" rule, you have to sacrifice ridiculously much:
- the army bonus is nerfed from "everybody all the time" to ""just those within 12" of Éomer (who thus has to stay alive)"
- no Royal Guard (=no F4/D6 other than your heroes + no Bodyguard)
- no Outriders
- no armoured horse for Éomer
- no Gamling/Théoden/Dernhelm/Déorwine/Elfhelm
And to top it all off, you're burdened with an overpriced Gandalf who takes up a significant chunk of your points with little chance of getting a decent ROI.
It simply doesn't compute for me...

The thought of having to paint that many horses fills me with dread. Then the dismount scenario. 😆 Turned out amazing though they look incredible. The kill team call had me in stitches hahaha. Also what's in the secret juice?
Lol the secret juice! Who knows. Something odd between Liam and Aiden there. Dude I want to stay well clear of horses for at least a month! It was brutal trying to meet that deadline. Meanwhile it’s only a week till I film my reply to your cheeky little call out 🤣

It’s a curse mate, this is why I have a pile of shame I could put down as a house deposit! It takes me way to long to paint 🙄
