Also really great form on the rowing machine Will! Honestly very impressed
I've enjoyed watching Matt over the years. Dedicated, principled, great human. I started working out at 10, over 5 decades later still kicking it, learned a ton. Crossfit is a blast to watch but brutal on the body. Despite peds, anti-inflammatory practices, and thoughtful warm-ups, crossfit workouts compress your vertebrae over time, wears down your ligaments and tendons, and positions you strongly for diminished mobility in your 50's and beyond. No disrespect to the crossfit movement. A tight culture with great energy, great people, who are living with integrity, all good. Crossfit is a recovery sport that unfortunately narrows the wonderful emotional and physical benefits of working out to a grind and recovery "sport". Training should invigorate your life. Max lifts and PR's are unsustainable pursuits with huge lifelong detrimental impacts. Workouts in the 40% to 80% zone allow all physical and emotional benefits, minimizes lifelong injuries, leaves energy for daily and other fun / family activities, and safeguards your recovery and immune systems. I was 180 lbs when I was in the Marine Corps, lifting, wrestling, boxing daily. Loved it all and absolutely loved the combative arts for 10 years. Went on to coach wrestling, awesome experience coaching and supporting young people. Intense, grind it out workouts were my bread and butter for decades. They came with huge costs. Crossfitters are under the impression that they can avoid the downside of body crunching, grind till you can't workouts with chemical support and thoughtful programming. Neither is true nor sustainable. Working out hard is not the challenge, never was. Balancing sustainable, enjoyable workout sessions with systemic recovery is the true challenge and mission for lifelong benefits. It's a huge mindset change, but I did it, and it's been life changing. All my best to the crossfit community. I love watching all of you put it all on the line. Your dedication and effort is literally super human. Turns out, you pay a huge price for being superhuman, with lifelong downsides. Life is short and as you age you'll look back and re-evaluate the effects of body crunching crossfit workouts on your health. The athletic choices you make in your 20's and 30's will determine your vigor, strength, and mobility in your 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's. Crushing PR's in your 30's may inhibit your ability to move with freedom in your 70's. Workout with wisdom. Being fit is a amorphous concept. One person thinks fit is strength, another endurance. I used to lift a lot. Strength was my fitness measurement. Many of the cyclists that do The tour de France are extremely unhealthy though and suffer from low bone density, lack of muscle mass resulting in emaciation, and lack the capacity to do basic ballistic movements or weightlifting. Many are underweight and suffer from eating disorders. Obviously they have great endurance and the ability to sustain high levels of pain. I have so much respect for Will to go and do these as hard as he can and not having any experience with how much it requires. Awesome
Will never fails to deliver
HIIT cardio is no joke when done with the proper intensity. Kudos to you Will for pushing yourself on the workout.
It’s good to see people finally appreciate the pain that can be achieved in an erg
Im honestly surprised you are this strong Will. I have struggled with knee issues which has tanked my leg power. So for you to have knee issues and still have this juice in the legs is really motivating.
It's called 'being young' :D
@@alexp601guy is still strong as shit
@@Yankee4ever2 Yeah 100%, Will is a beast. I'm just saying that knees and joints and stuff are easier for younger people. As Mat Fraser himself said, the older he gets the more he needs to warm up etc.
Diverse fitness ability is always impressive! Respect🔥🏆
@2025UsaChannel too late I already did
Diverse anabolic steroids always work well too!
@@fauge7 silly goose
The rowing bit... absolute perfection of what a crossfit session looks like, especially towards the end.
Mat is so legit, kind, stoked, and the consummate athlete. I’m a huge crossfit fan. Cool to see you train with him!
That rowing workout is pure insanity. Well done Will.
Mad respect to Will for going all out & not holding back in what must be one of the most gruelling workouts ever!
Best video I've seen all month!!!! Will has a new respect for Crossfit athletes.
Can we acknowledge how amazing that shot was at 17:30 where Will is at his limit and spinning and heads outside with the horror strings playing only to have the camera pan to Matt there still talking like a devil on his shoulder? Amazing shot!! Like a film.
Yes! The squence from 8:20 is also legit. Nicely shows the psychosis of just keeping going while they all separate in their ways of coping and all that.
Exactly 💯
As a CrossFitter I enjoyed this video so much! We get a lot of hate for the sport by people who sacrifice technique for time. If you focus on form and technique you’ll excel! Always fun to see people realize how hard it is! Great video!
I was looking for this comment and completely agree. The only people who hate on it are those who never tried it.
I love how uncoordinated Will is - had me crying lol.
Strong af though 💪
Will, the amount of hard work and sheer effort you put into all these vids for us is incredible, keep doing what you do and know that you'll always be my favourite youtuber. (come on guys he deserves so many more subs)
Editing and videography keep getting better and better. Awesome video
Mat is a beast. You have the most incredible workout colabs. Love the content, never disappoints.
A gut punch into another person’s world of volume is always a humility check and good for the soul!
Credit to you for doing these kind of workouts, not just a typical bodybuilder - and with Mat Fraser no less. The crossover we never knew we needed.
More collabs with crossfiters PLS!!
As a crossfiter myself I LOVE WATCHING THESE!
I can appreciate how difficult it is as a body builder to try a new fitness discipline. Will being able to hang in there for as much of those workouts as he did is super impressive. Hats off.
Wow to able to train with Mat Fraser would be an honor
I'm not a CrossFitter, but I respect several parts of the training methodology. I felt the glory on that rowing set. Excellent gymspo.
Love this so much man. Good job.
@2025UsaChannelyour not even doing it right 💀
And Will super impressed you went full send on the fan bike, and even pushed to point of puke - shows you really did it!
All this video did was remind me how out of shape I am.. that rowing footage was absolutely nutty.
*Will coughing
“I’m gonna throw up”
*Mat smiling
“Yeah? You wanna poke your head outside?”
By FAR my favorite collab
Will you have gone absolutely massive!!!! You’ve put on so much muscle it’s insane! I’ve been watching you for at least 3 - 4 years! Check your old videos if you don’t believe me, I don’t think I’ve missed any 🤷🏼
Been a joy watching your vids and still to this day I await your content. Class buddy 💪🏼💪🏼
Right! Those legs have grown so much
I've been waiting for this video since it was announced on IG that you did a workout with him.
Watching this guy compete was so inspirational, just when you thought he had given it all, he would turned it up. A beast.
I wasn't expecting that collab, Amazing!
Whenever I’m depressed I just put your videos on and always cheers me up. Thank you so much your amazing Will!
Dude that was hard as shit for a beginner (and no beginners of course). No matter how strong you are, most of these movements were new to you, but you did great! The workouts can be easier though, its not either this or just walking for 10 minutes.
This is by far my favourite video you have done! Great job taking that on, you should be proud
Fraser and Tennyson, love this so much
Mat Fraser was my inspiration right when instagram was cool to look at through an iphone 4, such a GOAT
The video I was wating for!🎉🎉🎉🎉 Now please do one with Tia Claire Toomey!
Yes!! She’s hilarious and it would be a great video!!!
I recently broke my arm while snowboarding, so I can't train my upper body for at least another three months. I was considering quitting my gym membership, but your videos keep me motivated for my never-ending leg day.
You already know this gone be a banger!
The fact that he’s using terms like “heavier” and “lighter” when describing loading is such a CrossFit thing to do
Crazy to see Matt after retirement. Man is so much leaner than he was when competing. Nice to see.
Leaner or cleaner 😂
@@scottmurray7283 😂😂
@@scottmurray7283 Both, first comes cleaner and then you get leaner.
i would love to see will doing more crossfit styled training along with his power lifting! recon it'd do wonders
This was by far the best video yet!!! Love CrossFit
who ever is editing your video here deserves a raise - cause it was very well done
Will is a fitness youtube goat. Great videos with awesome people. Love seeing videos like this. Also, he looks incredible!! Keep it up!
One of the most successful is an understatement. He was unequivocally dominant. Everyone else competed for 2nd. The GOAT.
Two of my favorites! Great job Will. So fun to see you both together. :)
Are you still planning to make a follow up ATG video? i was really looking forward to see how far you’ve come in that training!!
I wish I could hang out with Will for a day man he's hilarious. "Clean and jerk... Not usually done in that order"
😂 fucking dead
Bro I love how fearless you are.
I love all of the videos! you should do an kettlebell training day of some sort. Keep up the great work!
Great vid! Are you okay after all that Will?
As a CrossFitter, those workouts and that volume is killer. Will stuck with it like a champ. This brought me back to my first workouts and all the pain that comes with pacing workouts aggressively. That rower workout is deadly and the echo Bike burpee workout would also leave me on the floor for 30min.
Hats off to you Will! Always trying everything once! 🎉
Never give up!!! Thank you for the motivation to renew my own journey. I've left the dad body and am fighting against my senior body. I'm turning 54 tomorrow and trying to figure out how to shave off 100lbs of my 315 lb body. Still don't know where they came from... United in the spirit of health and fitness!!!
Oppenheimer background music snuck in at the start I think
These transitions are crazyyy love the editing
Will, you really inspire me to do better on my workout as always! Im so grateful to your efforts to give us these experiences! Wish you always the best!!!!!!
I died when will accidentally let the ball hit his face. Fraser laughing at it really put the nail on the coffin. I could only imagine how tired his arms were, after all the other movements
Love this!! Mat is the GOAT….respect for going into his gym and trying!!
Will is by far and beyond the best fitness channel on this platform. I love watching his videos eating nachos on my couch.
0:04 - Just wondering what this rhythmic exercise is that they're doing?
Here for Matt but definitely a fan of Will now for suffering through that! I remember my first crossfit workout questioning my life choices that led me there. Now im hooked! 😂😂😂
Can we do a video of Katie preparing healthy meals for Will from his cookbook for 24 hours or 48?
I’ve been gyming for a year and a half now but my fitness journey started with CrossFit for the first 4 years I worked out, Matt Fraser is an absolute legend and I hope to meet him one day
Damn Will, you're looking beastly in this video. Your shoulders and neck muscles look great when you're doing the squats. Keep up the good work!

@@jway9097 I can appreciate a muscled man even though I'm a lesbian lol
18:01 “definitely wasn’t my intention” totally was his intention
12:40 “he’s got a show dog ramp”!! lol describes CrossFit perfectly. You’ll never need the movement and there’s a ton of ego about being able to to do the show dog course
2:05 gives his fitness breakdown
4:20 “hadn’t gone below parallel in 2 yrs”; mentions blowing out knee
6:20 your legs
6:45 squat 445
13:01 they love hazing this guy
-you gotta love the fact this William guy has next to know ego-respect
Best episode/video ever!!!!!! Matt is a beast and a role model & Will, you’re super!,, thank you for sharing this and I was hoping for this collaboration for a long time. Cheers and much love from Barbados 🇧🇧 guys 🤙🏽🤙🏽
That workout was sick kudos for the effort to stay with em 👍🏻
The phrase "I love crossfit" has been bashed so hard but this is what people look like when they try it. To be a fit crossfit athlete is so underestimated. But I do, in fact, love crossfit haha. Good effort Will, im glad you gave it your all, it's not easy.

Love it! Would love to see will put through some CrossFit workouts like they do in the CrossFit games
