2 layer OBS (1/8" and 5/8") I back with the thinner, and trace cut out storage slots (aka "everything has a place" method) in the thicker.
I tried particle board, same thicknesses....but they didnt hold up a month

I have never understood the French cleat system. Currently for me it is way to bulky and time consuming for the tools and equipment I have. Maybe it also is the fact i have a large shop and not a garage to work out of.
