- This is a perspective grid technique that I use sometimes when drawing outdoors. It helps me get the angles of line and location of elements in the scene accurate.

What an incredible lesson. I am starting to draw and paint again, after decades of making my living designing and display. You are brilliant my friend as a teacher, your are excellent as an artist. Thank you again.
*This is like a miracle, like the art classes I never took* because I started in art with nature observation. I had no training, no natural knack for drawing but I found that if I really looked at something & drew EXACTLY what I saw then suddenly I had a sketch or watercolor. Years later, I’m able to sketch & paint all day, everyday, but I am still self taught. I’ve struggled with perspective, vanishing lines, as they were merely words. THANK YOU!!!!
Do not undersell yourself you can draw what you see then you are an ARTIST.
Hi Teoh,
Teaching perspective is a very difficult and daunting task to say the least. You simplified it so that anyone can understand and utilize the concepts. You did a great job if breaking it down for all to understand and put into use. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Have a great day my friend.

the X trick down the square is so helpful to find the middle line!
The most useful tutorial on perspective. Thank you, Teoh.
:0 That diagonal trick is amazing. I've never had issues with the horizontal division/lines (like from a vanishing point) but the vertical division has always been hard for me. Thanks for this tutorial!
You have a remarkable talent to simplify things and say them exactly like they are!
You're inspiring-keep creating and sharing!
Super helpful...with no art background I was so glad to find you so I could start to understand perspective.
Very good I spent ages today copying another perspective grid but now I know how to build one. Not to mention what a great tool for just sketching anything. Good video
+HelloShiny Cool. Have fun drawing
you made this looks so simple. I'm sharing it with my art class. this was another AHA moment.
Your way of explaining linear perception has cleared up my confusion on the matter. Thank you for taking time to share this!
man u have no idea how important your videos are. Thanks a lot
Perspective has always been difficult for me due to learning disabilities, I'm anxious to try this one out as it makes a lot of sense.
Best lesson on perspective I’ve seen. Thanks so much. Do more!
i am a beginner in urban sketching and your videos are really helpful !
Thank you for this clear concise video. I'm with you on this Sofia.
This is great! you have simplied a complex subject and for me, just a leisure, urban sketcher this is all I need. So glad I found your channel. Love your calm voice - I will be watching a lot more of your videos.
Well explained; I always had problems with perspectives, thank you 🙏
explained by you it seems so simple and natural... prospective is always something which i'm never able to be 100% precise, and it ruins in some way my sketches. Thanks from Italy!
I have always eyeballed those vertical lines on the side of the building. this is brilliant! thanx!!
I just this technique for checking ~(˘▾˘~)
Here it is! I was searching among those videos I've watched for this particular one to post my thank you :) today my son thanked me for explaining perspective with the help of this video and he got a good grade at school :))) Thank you! :))
This is brilliant, I found perspective very daunting. It is good to know that you can do urban sketching without perspective too. The grids are very helpful.
Awesome video and sketches! I am pretty fluent in perspective, but it's still fun for me watching others show their techniques.
FINALLY. My questions answered. Very informative! Thank You 🙏
Great lesson. Though I have been drawing for a while now, I had never bothered to learn the technical bits, until now. The way you explained it is very easy to understand. Thank you.
What an excellent video ...very helpful thank you.
Very clever technique. Ive been drawing for a while and its the first time I hear of this trick. Well done, thanks!
That has made more sense to me than any other lesson about perspective xx thank you xx

Super helpful! Thank you!
Brilliant! Super helpful. Thank You Teoh!
That was really helpful! Why didn't they ever teach us that in school?! :)
Some schools may have it as part of a technical drawing course, mine did.
I learnt it in primary school in Argentina in a private school
in Malaysia its a part of the subject design and technology, where we learn about electrical wiring and design. best thing is this subject is not an elective and we learn how to draw and understand engineering/architectural symbols
im not really good at explaining but yeah😅
Thank you for the tutorial, really help me to "open my eyes"
Thank you! I learned a lot from this simple tutorial.
Thank you for posting this. It was really helpful. It would be great to see more like this on landscape perspectives.

Your art is really cool!
Your video was so helpful! It was just the help I needed today. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this! Perspective has always been my weak spot, and this was very helpful. And an excellent time for it to show up on my feed, as I've been struggling with a project that would require some finicky forced perspective... because, of course, simple is a concept I also struggle with. But with this, and the other more recent videos, I think I just might be able to pull it off. So again, thank you so much, for this and all the work you put into this channel!
Thanks, your explanation was really helpful! 😊😊
Incredible technique. Thanks Teoh.

Great, it was very helpful. Thanks!
Excellent video. Thank you.
Checked out your link from above. The moment he mentioned "geometry" my brain shut down! Your video made me think, "hey I think I've got this", his page made all my high school math insecurities resurface.
LOL. Yeah, dividing into equal parts is actually not easy. My method can only divide into 2, 4, 8, etc, double each time.
Thank you. I think I understand now but have to practice the tricks.
Your work is wonderful
Thank you for your good information.
It was a great help to me as a first-timer.^^
very good. also made to be relaxing and inviting to learn!
Thanks so much!!! Very helpful and well explained!!
Taught this technique at Uni many t\years ago and still using it.
Helpful tutorial that I will need to view a couple of times. Thinking I should have paid more attention in my high school geometry class. I don't recall learning this in art school (crazy, right?). Very enjoyable video and relevant points made.
