- The Guinness World Records title for the “Largest Continuous Concrete Pour” has been beaten under cooperation of CONMIX LTD., Safari Group, OSCAR Bldg. Contracting and Mazaya Engr. This is NOT the "largest continuous concrete pour" not by far.
Chernobyl nuclear reactor tomb is still the largest monolithic concrete pour to date.

Is it me or this seems completely absurd?
You are renting some supplies for a very long time rather than reusing it. Going "bit by bit" costs much less in the end. The amount of work is the same, but you can use a much lower amount of formwork, and while one crew is working on the slab, the other can already start to install the columns or build the walls on top of it. If you want to do it all at once, you are waiting with a part of the slab ready for god knows how many weeks.
You clearly have no idea what's going on.

Indian Construction is not world class as its a 3rd world nation. It may lead in the shit inferior projects for size but India does not even have first world sanitation systems or even public toilets for the people to use.

In the reality conmix just supply the concrete and even their concrete quality was worst because of the poor supply chain. The sub contractor for the concrete level and power float was the key players for this project. It's because of them that they manage the bad quality of concrete from the conmix.

Hoover dam was a longer continuous pour....
Jeff Bell I think that the hotel that was built in L.A. CA. a few years ago was a long continuous pour also. From what I have heard it broke some kind of record. I can't remember the name of the hotel but it was done in the last five years I think.
Dams are not built in continuous pours because the heat it generates as it goes off could crack the dam. If the Hoover dam was poured all at once it would have taken an estimated 150 years to cool down.
Also they built a special machine for the pours of the Hoover dam that kinds layered the concrete. The more ya know!
One large pour, looks like nothing for expansion control. Bet that works out well!
