- Ever wonder how Cuphead and Mugman came to be? Wonder no more as recently declassified documents have revealed how this duo became walking, talking, finger gun-having crockery. This ain’t no Cuphead game… this is the Cuphead show! It’s time for another Secret History, friends.
Find out the truth about how they befriended the shadowy figure known simply as Cuphead Devil (I understand he needed to differentiate himself from our devil somehow, but he could’ve been a bit more creative), watch as the cup head and the mug man detail how they defeated all of the Cuphead bosses, and - before you watch this Cuphead cartoon - board your windows and doors because you're gonna hear what their planning to do next.

Fun fact: The Moldenhauer Brothers (creators of Cuphead) originally had an idea for a video game reminiscent of Cuphead in the early 2000s; however they didn't have the resources to produce the game back then, and so they waited until the 2010s when the technology necessary for the game was finally at their disposal.

The reason they chose the bad ending is because they had no reason to choose the good one. In the game they're actually friends with some of the bosses and they have that Elder kettle to make them do the right thing. In this video, they're just soldiers who have little to no connection with these guys.
Interesting point of view. Maybe Mugman was a little bit friendly and hesitant at first with the whole thing, but Cuphead ruined whatever little innocence was left in him.

Especially since Mugman actually feels remorse for the scientists they killed. Are they really bad for killing the soldiers and that lead scientists?
I imagine the devil probably made a deal to have revenge on their bosses. Cuphead probably corrupted the only bit of goodness Mugman might have had.
I think the devil could've seen if the soldiers were moral enough to reject his offer, and let in those two soldiers cause he knew they'd help him at the end

I love how being in “our” reality makes them more gruesome and deadly. It’s both reflective on how our uptightness is more of a weakness, and can often be a warped perception of the true nature of things.
Like framing and/or pissing off a gentle giant.

I love the atmosphere when The Devil makes his way through the portal and the look on the detective’s face when he realizes who Mugman and Cuphead were talking about. I mean, THE DEVIL. Satan himself.
I like the idea that Cuphead and mugman look different in different dimensions. It was an interesting twist.
That “serve in heaven, or reign in hell” line was great. I’ve heard it in “alien: Covenant” and “ The devil’s advocate”.

probably my favorite part about this episode was that whatever successfully entered into the other world without dying, became cartoon-like in appearance. but when they come back, they change into more realistic, and sometimes horrifying creatures.
Truly spectacular work guys, probably my favorite secret history yet!
This comment makes sense cause In that one scene when Cuphead says “when you can rule, in hell” you can see the devil’s teeth and nose change in appearance.

Actually, according to Mugman in this video he mentioned about the devil “he let us in” this could mean that they got transported to Inkwell Hell. The devil killed the other subjects. But let the two who became Cuphead and Mugman through.
What would the other cuphead bosses look like in this style
This has so much potential for its own series! I mean most of the Secret Histories do, but also just the fact that this actually derives from the bad ending is intriguing! And could Ms Chalice have a role to play in all this too?

This was so good! Not only does it fit with the original Bad End of the game, but this was a unique way to bring a dark twist to an otherwise shockingly dark game when you think about it. Another banger Secret Histories video, Mashed! My only question is if there’s a good end alternative to this story where Cuphead and Mugman don’t join the Devil

I loved the detail that "Mugman" has corrected the soldier about the species of flower which is Cagney, many people continue to confuse it with a sunflower without knowing that it is a carnation, and by many people I mean people from my country ( I am from Argentina)
Carnation is also Cagney's last name so he maybe could have identified the flower from them
It also sounds like Mugman's calling Cagney out by name, which also sounds badass
They claimed to have bested The Devil, but in reality it was a timeline in which they gave him the soul contracts.

B U L L S H I T! episode 5 was a waste of time, and the colour palettes aren’t accurate to the original. and guess what? season 4 will be coming on Netflix by February 16th 2024! and episode 7 should be official to the level.

This is a blast from the past, I can't tell you how many times I've watched Tails's episode
The fact that I witnessed the release of another episode puts a smile on my face

When I heard "not what. WHO." I legitimately got chills. You did that so well and I applaud you. But if I could make one small complaint, I think you should have cut it at "When you can rule in hell?" but other than that, Amazing vid.

Not possible, as the new official voice of Mario, he’s only allowed to voice Mario in Nintendo allowed projects which isn’t to saying that Mashed couldn’t get him to voice Mario, Nintendo would have to give the ok, but given the sort of content Mashed is and the company that Nintendo is, it’ll never happen.
And if you think that’s just Nintendo being a buzzkill, that’s fairly common in the VA industry where VAs aren’t allowed to voice stuff relating to their characters outside that’s not official.
Yknow I really like this idea, the idea where Cuphead and Mugman secretly working for the devil to bring him to the real world, I can't wait for the next Secret History

I honestly thought it would be a secret history of Call of Duty Zombies, Metal Gear Solid or Spy x Family because of the military background and so many secrets. but I liked the cuphead one and the fact that discovering his world will cause something apocalyptic. It almost fits with Aloy's story in Genshin Impact.

I was a fan of secret histories long ago and when I saw that an fnf mod was coming I was super hyped!!! Now I have played the mod and it was an awesome experience but I think they should have added Super Mario Bros. first since it's the first case of secret histories

i really wish that the person who came through the portal was elder kettle, but regardless, this was still one of my favorite secret histories, ITS JUST SO GOOD!
I got some ideas for future Secret History of... episodes:
Secret History of Shantae: Genies are evil monsters who were sealed away, but they gave birth to half-genies. Shantae vows to continue the reign of terror her genie sisters have tried to do and even brainwashes Sky, Bolo and Rottytops to help her. Risky Boots is also a heroic swashbuckler instead of a pirate who is starting a revolution to stop Shantae.
Secret History of Shovel Knight: After losing Shield Knight, Shovel Knight went insane and began to murder lots of people, including innocents, because he can no longer tell right from wrong. The Order of No Quarter are heroes summoned by the heroic Enchantress to stop him.
Secret History of Rayman: The Gale of Dreams is actually a place where all creatures live in harmony, and Rayman is actually a racist bigot who hates ugly monsters rather then a goofy fun-loving hero. Rayman sees all ugly monsters as evil and vows to 'save' the Gale of Dreams from them, going around killing innocent monsters to stop they're so-called evil from harming innocents.
Those are some good ideas actually!
