    Currently using Burn Proof Gear, they hold up great as long as you put them on correctly and cinch them down so they don't fly off. Got to try a Liberty Defense at some point but almost $400 for a cover to match one of my suppressors is a lot.

      They shed a ton of fiberglass though, which sucks. They also commonly are undersized and don't cover the very end of the suppressor, which negates the thermal hiding properties by a chunk. They are tough though that's for sure. For military I can see it being worth it but for PRS and normal LR shooters, plenty of others out there that work well to hide mirage without burning up. Precision Underground Rifle Gear makes a nice one.

    I use to work for manta defense as their mil sales guy (for a short time). If you cut out the “manta defense” logos on the covers it can be used for higher rates of FA. The reason it’s limited to 100 rnds is because of reversion. The can cover tries to revert back to a liquid state when there isn’t enough air flowing through the cover. Cutting out the logos creates a higher air flow and smothers the option for a fire to start.

    Great video bro. For precision rifles this video is amazing. Too many people buy them for semi-auto's to look cool but don't realize they are trapping heat, making it louder and they wear out on semi applications. For precision shooting this is the best suppressor cover wrap up you'll get (no pun intended.)

    • @apersonontheinternet8006
      @apersonontheinternet8006 4 месяца назад

      In general, I think suppressors are kind of gimmicky especially on semi-automatics. Even the low back pressure cans are going to start gassing you out if you needed to run the gun hard for whatever reason. There is also the fact that you are introducing more carbon into the action which increases the risk of failure. Finally, the very real risk of getting serious burns is very real and often underplayed even with a heat cover.
      This isn't to say that I'm against suppressors, having one on a night stand gun isn't a bad idea considering intruders aren't going to wait for you to get your ear pro on but I think that the cons are often overlooked or omitted. A lot of RUclipsrs just want to sell you stuff at the end of the day.

    • @johnfilmore7638
      @johnfilmore7638 3 дня назад

      @@apersonontheinternet8006 for 223 yes they are gassy with traditional baffle suppressors, it's just alot of pressure in a small diameter so the gas is coming back.
      300 blk is significantly less gas at the bolt-carrier with a traditional baffle suppressor, even though the powder case is the same size.
      Ive heard good things about Huxworx flow through suppressors, for a bit less quieting your AR shoots suppressed & unsuppressed with no gas-block adjustment needed, and apparently very little gas out the bolt carrier & charging handle, apparently the 223 gets to 300 blackout gassing with it

    I've used a Burn Proof Gear cover with liner for over 4 years on an 11.5 AR and it has not only held up extremely well during classes, 2gun and CQB matches as well as general practice, it hasn't moved either. It's still on the can and it just plain works. Almost half the cost of the Liberty covers - and no metal. Can has been carbon welded onto the AR for years and I have zero issues with it. You missed out reviewing them. Grab a couple and check them out.

    I'm a little surprised how quickly you went past the Cole-Tac covers, and made no mention of their HTP covers that have an internal heat sleeve, and an external thermal cover with multiple options to hold it in place (Velcro, Stricta Cord, etc.). I've found this "combination" cover works best in virtually every situation. I have 7 cans, and the proper Cole-Tac HTP for each of them, and I'm super happy with the fit and heat protection. I also believe a "barrel cooler" is really important to have, as it will decrease the length of time it takes to cool down a suppressor by a LOT. Final piece of advice is to always carry pair of welder's gloves and a small welding blanket to handle hot cans and covers whenever you need to remove them or switch them over to a different barrel.

    Rock wool must be too bulky. It can take the heat. It may not leave the can cool enough.

    Why doesn't someone come out with a decent low cost cover that straps down real good at back leaving the middle and front kinda loose for air cooling. As long as it is secure at brl end and stays on , easy on off no burn tie down ! I may get a copy copy right!!!!!!

    I have Cole-Tac covers on my suppressors (2 titanium, one huge aluminium) which work great, but I'm worried that using them actually prolongs the heat in the suppressor for such a long time it could damage it?

      I shut it down. There was no way for me to keep it going with all of the shipping that was happening. That and the fact that I was going to need to get a building for inventory and shipping.
      Not something I want to do at this point in my life.
      I appreciate the comment.
