- First half is 4/4, what's the second half? I was definitely pulling from Dream Theater and Intervals on this one. I wrote this 4 years ago in a song that I hated so I decided to pull it out and try to rework it into a new track. I also layered the lead guitar with a synth and I love how smooth it makes it all sound.
Using my Ibanez KRYS10 through Neural DSP's Archetype: Petrucci
Bass is Submission Audio's UmanskyBass
Drums are RS Drums Fairview kit.

I'm not good at music theory, so I created the code in Python that count time between peaks of intervals, which is for the first half 0.288 and for the second 0.311 which means that the second half may be similiar to the 4/4. I will not guess, but maybe this information will be helpful for someone else :D Great piece anyway, as always. Cheers!
first riff was 7/8, second part I counted was 19/16 I believe or 17/16, I’m not exactly sure tho
great work
That's so sick haha. I love that you did that.
The time signature in the first half is 4/4.
The second half is:
9/8 11/8 8/4 8/4
9/8 11/8 7/4 8/4
@@itsMEADOWS what the heck :D nice! Can't wait for the next video!
*Sharp sound 🔥🤘*
Thanks!
I've been ruminating on this. I hear the first section as 4/4, but then at the second section I'm just hit with a sense that Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle will continue to serve his sentence until at least the year 2029
Ah, damn. I was really hoping I could finally write something that would take people's minds off the fact that Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle will be serving his sentence until at least 2029 but I guess I need to keep working on it. 🙏
- What time signature is this?
- Enough
True
Great riff!
Thanks Jordan!
4/4
Definitely mostly 4/4 but it changes around a good bit in the second half!
Everything is in 4/4 if you wait long enough
This is the way
for the second part I hear it as a 9/4 bar, an 11/4 bar, and then plain 4/4 with syncopation four times
That's extremely close! I have it written as:
9/8 11/8 8/4 8/4
9/8 11/8 7/4 8/4
@@itsMEADOWS Show off!!!!!!!
7/8 for the beginning and I got 19/16 for the second part?
Edit I tried again counting it and I got 17/16? For the second part
Good guesses! It's all 4/4 for the first half but the second half changes a lot.
My tab was written out as:
9/8 11/8 8/4 8/4
9/8 11/8 7/4 8/4
@@itsMEADOWSjeez, good stuff as always lol
Haha cheers dude!
49 seconds
I... guess I can't actually dispute this
just cause it's not 4/4 doesn't mean it's interesting. focus on rhythms and groove instead if all you're gonna do is palm mute 0s, and don't do that, notes are nice
Tell me you didn't watch the whole thing without telling me you didn't watch the whole thing
worry less about other people’s art
@@itsMEADOWS I watched the whole thing you arpeggios at the end don't fix the issue, it's still just 0s with a couple high notes in between
listen to periphery's "the price is wrong", it's a cool song with great guitars, they do 0s really well in that
@@flufo there is no issue. It's a build up before the riff with the time signature change. As I said in the description, this is from a full song and I just ripped it out and uploaded it. Music exists before and after this, this is just a build and a riff. The song called for something more straightforward in the 0s section so that's what I did. There isn't an "issue".
@@itsMEADOWS alright, good shit
