Please do and let me know how it goes! I haven’t flown it all that much and really want to do that flight but might end up having a few to many 🍺 to land by the time I get there!
I have flown the short hop to Shannon and hope to do the whole route soon. Perhaps when I have an admin day at home so I can do some work once the aircraft is up in tbe main cruise 😂. Having watched your video I followed and did my first proper start from cold and dark. It's fun to learn, thanks for the help!
Great video! Love the BA A318! Sad it's no longer doing this route! I've been waiting for someone to do a video with the new A318 about this flight. I was lucky enough to have seen it a couple of times before it was retired. Some points I'd like to add, The A318 was the largest aircraft certified by EASA to make the Steep 5.5° Approach into LCY, now I believe the E195-E2 holds that title. Another point is that In reality the A318 is able to fly from London to New York without the stopover at SNN, but the Runway length at LCY didn't allow a full payload on the westbound leg (BAW1). This wasn't necessary on the Eastbound leg (BAW2) as JFK's runways are long enough for a full payload. Again great video!
Thanks so much for watching and info. I love little historic flights like this. Just so cool that BA had it. I would love to do the full flight, either direction, but I stubbornly refuse to use the sim rate increase. By the time I land I would be more like an 80s Airline pilot drunk on whiskey. I was looking on flight aware and it seems Air France is still using an A318 back and forth from Zurich and Paris. Might do that one but no where near as amazing as this amazing version. Thanks again!
@@sprocketsimulations You're most welcome! Haha! 6 hours watching clouds and Ocean isn't for everybody. It would be great to see the Air France A318 flight from Zurich! As you said it can't compare to this one but it's still cool!
Hi, nice video. Just purchased the aircraft for my PC. Do you use SpadNext or anthing similar as I have found some of the buttons to be inconsistent e.g NAV or perhaps it's just me. Thanks
No, I just use the in game button config. I’ve actually adjusted my setup as I do fly in VR sometimes and use just the yoke, pedals, and throttle/trim wheel.
They have updated it a fair amount since this video to make it more complex. I would suggest using the default A320 as it is the same as this video and already included with MSFS. Once you feel comfortable I would look at getting the FlyBYWire A320 mod as it is also free but much more complex. Thennnnn if you like all that I would purchase this along with a free FlyBYWire mod to have the ultimate 318.
if im not mistaken, with no speed selection made, the default autospeed config for the a318/19/20 is to manage mins, so i think that would change the effect to an issue with the flight model, but im not a pilot, so im not positive on that
I’m not sure I follow on the flight model. The engines are the same but slightly changed for the smaller 318. You are correct about speed selection and is configured in the MCDU and many factors are taken into consideration such as cost index, weights, and others. I haven’t really flown this much but there has been an adaptation to use The Fly By Wire mod and plan on doing another video using that. The default mode works well for your approach but I have found it goes a little too slow and if the AP is “chasing” the glide slope it has a higher risk of stall. I usually put it into speed selection when introducing the last notch to keep the speed up slightly higher. Also a lot of areas will have atc assigned minimums. I fly around Southern California a lot and they have a 220knt minimum. In the US it is usually 250 or lower when under 10,000ft and the transition altitude is 18,000 for std pressure. It is much different in EU and other parts of the world The flight model of this has been adjusted from the default a320 along with engine power.
What livery are you using? The interior of my LVFR 213 looks like what you see on their website - really marred, scratched and dirty windshield. It's great detail and work, but I prefer a cleaner interior closer to what I see in your vid. Thanks for the great tutorial by the way. I'm just switching from the 320neo, to make landings and taking off from London City a little more realistic. Cheers!
None of the LVFR A320/19/18 use a different interior to the stock A320 by Asobo. There has been updates since this video and they added a tablet so I am not sure why yours would look different. Do you have any addons for the standard A320? That might cause some issues. I’ll jump into it when I can. There is a mod to use the FlyBYWire addon for this and the 319 available on flightsim.to which I recommend getting. But again this is the bone stock version when it came out from LVFR.
@@sprocketsimulations Hiya! Yeah, I asked LVFR and they said it was updated to look more authentic. Looks great, but I'm looking to default to the previous A320neo cockpit they were using.
Probably not possible unfortunately as they added functionality to the new cockpit. I might make a follow up video to this one as a lot has been changed since then. Most for the better.
Question sir: I am using the Thrustmaster Airbus Throttle. However, the indents on the throttle do not match the throttle position on my LVFR A321. Is there any way to calibrate my throttle with the sim as FBW has? When I have my physical throttle in the idle position, the throttles in the sim are almost to the CLB position. Thanks. Good video BTW!
I am not sure as I don’t use that setup, but there is a FBW mod for the 318 and 319 now. It is on flightsim.to and that should give you the exact same experience as the 321. Definitely worth getting and makes this little guy so much better.
I use TrackIR which uses 3 infrared sensors on a clip to track your head movement. I tweaked the settings in their software but it really depends on the distance for your monitor and height.
I'm gonna have to give this dinky airliner a go and make that famous NYC flight

Do all buttons work?
@@AvrgAvGeek01 actually, ehm, I still have to 'fly' the 318, same for the 319. Still have not had time to even try. Sorry...

Is it a good plane for beginners? Is it hard to fly?

for ur auto brake issue that is a actual feature in a airbus unlike bowing after landing if you use toe brakes auto goes off

It is an AMD build with a 5800x3d and a 6800xt with 32gb ram on an X570i motherboard.
It looks like you're using an eye tracker, I have the Tobii 5 but am struggling with my config. What are your settings?
