I think Naobito was mvp, he was the most skilled sorcerer this episode. He has anti-domain techniques and he’s the second fastest sorcerer (currently first since gojo is sealed) and has decades of experience fighting. He could’ve killed Dagon, had Dagon not opened its domain. And he survived through death swarm which was much more powerful than the one nanami got through since Dagon mentioned he would focus 70% of his power on Naobito. Not to mention, Dagon is a strong ahh curse that shrugged off Nanamis hits. Naobito was an absolute badass this episode.
Actually no he could not have killed him. The damage was not enough to do any lasting damage. Nanami maybe could have killed the womb but none of them has enough damage to do substantial damage to his large hp pool

Its just not feasible that he won't be able to open a domain eventually It's the same as three 8 year olds (without weapons) jumping a grown man. They might hurt him a bit but he only has to get them good a few times to end the fight. A bit of blood once is a very minor feat for an entity that regenarates limbs instantly

One of the animators for this episode is really beating himself up on Twitter over it. He definitely feels like he was rushed and wanted to make this even better than it was. So it’s really nice to hear that you guys think this is your favorite episode!
Some of the animation definitely felt ‘forgotten’, if that makes sense. As in, some parts were top notch, a lot of it with Nanami was good, but there was also some lacking. Still loved the episode though

Naobito is actually the only Zenin clan member that I like besides the outcasts like Maki/Mai/Megumi/Toji. Naobito may be a bit of an asshole, but he still risks his life to protect Maki and treats her like a human being, while Maki's own father and other clan members treat them like they're sub-human

Jogo basically Toji less psyhical but + CE + CT (compare to character in this Arc) Yeah, bro is powerfull AF. He just unlucky meet Sukuna and Gojo, he also Goofy lol.
One thing i notice about JJK is that the elderly modern sorcerers has this very modern cursed technique like Noabito with his FPS stuff, and the Kyoto Principal with his Electric Guitar. Meanwhile the younger sorcerers has more of this occult vibe like Megumi with shikigami and nobara with strawdoll technique.
Mei Mei was definitely last out of the mvp list. Their pick showed that they didn't believe she could do more later. Megumi also disabled the auto hit so he is a strong choice.
So here's a summary of what anime viewers learned: -Unless you're Gojo, you can't block Mei Mei's bird strikes -Naobito is the 2nd fastest sorcerer... The 1st fastest being Gojo -Unless you're Gojo, you can't activate domain expansion multiple times per day Yeah, yet again we're reminded why the very first step of Fake Geto's plan was to seal Gojo up.
There is alot of characters who I think can block Mei mei's bird strike. What they were saying is that Gojo is the only one she used it against who was able to block it. But if she used it agianst Geto, Sukuna...etc they would also block it.
That made me think of is there anything Gojo isn't the 1st at. And I remembered that the holder of the record of consecutive black flashes wasn't Gojo but Nanami. But I understand why : Gojo doesn't even need black flashes to destroy everything he wants so he just never tried.

Based on this episode we can tell that the power scaling is crazy tho.. The absence of Gojo makes us realize how dangerous and powerful the disaster curses are.. Idk but it seems like any sorcerer below special grade has no chance whatsoever to fight against them one-on-one
Also this episode shows how Disaster curses >> Non - Intelligent Special Grade Curse Spirits (e.g Smallpox Curse). Powers aside, the fact that the disaster curse can think for themselves and has the initiative to attack compared to the NPC like nature of the smallpox curse lol So yeah no one stands a chance a 1v1 against the disaster curses except Gojo. However this is Jujumpsu Kaisen so we go 2v1 3v1 all the way lmao
You made me have this random thought that, maybe if gojo isn't around, the good sorcerers will have to do beyond their best to keep up with the dangers and challenges, and become much stronger than they previously can. In other words, because gojo's there as some kind of fallback, the others won't grow as much as they potentially can, because they're not being forced to, so to speak.
Respect the Mei Mei pick for MVP, but as a manga reader and from dialogue in this episode, if Naobito wasn’t there Maki and Nanami were dead. Simply because of him keeping them in the fight, I think it’s not close and he’s MVP this episode.
Remember people, NEVER blame the MAPPA animators. It is the higher-ups at MAPPA enforcing tight schedules on the animation staff causing problems with it. I will always be grateful for the animators and the hard work they put in for the rest of the world to enjoy.
i was a little dissapointed not having the domain scene done with the same care as the yuji fight , but mappa animators have done so well that i will never blame them. however between this episode and yuji vs the grasshopper , i am definitely worried that shibuya isnt going to be as great visually as it could be

As long as the production quality isn't hot garbage, MAPPA will probably make money. And that means the executives don't need to care about their animators' schedules, since either way they're making bank. It's unfortunate, but as long as MAPPA executives are driven by money and not the desire to make good anime, things will just keep getting worse for the animators.
I feel bad for the animators and staff. Being rushed by deadline yet trying their best and still get complaint. MAPPA should handle this problem so it doesnt affect the quality. Maybe they should delay 1 week or like what _Zoom100_ did.
Yeah, it’s crazy to think that even last episode, as good as it was, was still rushed and could have been better according to the staff. Mappa has some incredibly talented and skilled people working there, so it’s a shame that we can’t get the best they could offer, even if it’s still great like last weeks episode. I’d gladly trade a l fee weeks without episodes to give them more time to make the best version of this show possible
Nah MVP is the Octopus curse. He was taking on 3 and then 4 sorcerers and was kinda messing them up. Even taking an arm from a very very experienced sorcerer in Naobito and possibly taking Nanami’s eye.
There is a reason why he is the *head* of the zenin clan. He is second fastest sorcerer and his ct is also very good plus he has secret domain counter method. He is undoubtedly strongest grade 1..........behind the one and only gambler *Hakari* 😂
the fact that Megumi is the only one who knows how to do domain expansion where Nanami and the leader of the Zenin clan can't is alone a proof he should be the MVP .... like the boy is 14 / 15

Naobito is easy MVP. He literally saved maki's life and singlehandedly had dagon on ropes until the domain expansion. He was such a threat that 70% of dagons strength went to him which meant nanami survived with only the 30%. AND HE ACTUALLY SURVIVED A MINUTE GETTING SWARMED BY THE SHIKIGAMI AT 70% POWER. easy choice imo
I love their love for Nanami 😭😅 And thankyou for showing this episode a lot of love, people have been complaining and whining a lil bit too much lately just cuz the quality of animation drops down by a bit. They don't realize just how good of an adaptation JJK overall has been and the fans should be more grateful and less entitled. Suddenly everyone is an expert in animation, they hyperfocus on every detail and angles esp the manga readers and is just so quick to hate forgetting the tough situation the animators are in and that they're trying their best and the fault actually lies with MAPPA for how horribly they are dealing with this.
Yuta is still in Africa, and doesn't have teleportation or high-speed flying abilities. The Shibuya Incident happens very quickly in-universe. If someone called him on the phone right now and told him what was going down, he physically could not make it to Japan in time.

I think Megumi deserves the MVP here. If not for him, the guaranteed hit of death swarm will still continue. Both Nanami and Naobito were taking those hits continuously and were able to survive because Megumi came in and clashed his Domain with Dagon's domain. Also Maki would have been 100% dead if not for Megumi and provided Maki the playful cloud. Another thing is, if any other sorcerer came in and help who doesn't have a domain, they are still screwed so it was a miracle that it was Megumi who entered since he was the only student that has a DE + his shadows technique allows him to open an exit within Dagon's domain. But I can also see why other people will think Naobito is the MVP of the episode as he was doing the most the entire fight. But still, Megumi coming in here increased their survival chance from 0% to 80%
Anime only really have no clue about what's coming soon! Everyone's fucked with Toji entering the domain! Maki can hate Naobito all she wants but without him she'd have been dead and Nanami for that matter.
I mean she has good reason to dislike him and she does acknowledge he saved her. Maki has legitimate beef but a long way to go in order to do anything about it.

Season 2 has been an absolute blast so far. I used to think they couldn't top the fight between Yuji and Nobara vs the 2 brothers with that synced black flash, but season 2 has had so many fights on par with it. Oh, and I agree with you Ange, I still think Season 1 had better animation, despite how crazy season 2 has been

I'd argue last week's episode was the best episode in all JJK,but this week's episode started what's for me the best 3 fights in Shibuya: 1. Toji vs Dagon The other two are as hot as that one.
Even tho both of the curses mei mei and the zenin group fought were special grade, there was a huge difference in power between them, even in the special grade category the difference in power can be really big, it's like comparing sukuna with that one special grade curse he fought in season 1. It only took a grade 1 sorcerer to defeat the disease curse while for dagon (the octopus curse) even 2 grade 1 sorcerers (counting megumi) and special grade 1 (naobito) and maki using a special grade curse tool weren't enough to beat him, and yet naobito was doing well against it at the start before he used his domain and even afterwards he endured 70% of its death swarm for a full minute, I think naobito deserved MVP for this episode more than mei mei imo.
This shows how general audience reacts vs how crybabys in twitter reacts. Sure a after the mei mei production collapsed and mappa putting staffs to hell but it still managed push through and made this happened, thank god we got the some of the best staff working on it

But somehow dagon casted a domain with a seal - which is the first and likely last instance that would ever happen Naobito definitely the MVP, if Mei Mei was in his position - its kinda hard to decide cuz birdstrike is kina OP and people just wouldnt realise it , but imo Naobito really shined this episode

Seeing Megumi’s “I’m risking my life, but I’m not throwing it away” calling straight back to the flashback we see of him training with Gojo in 1x23 before he opens his domain for the first time… I thought my heart was going to stop 🥹 I’m a manga reader (no spoilers here!), but I intentionally haven’t reread anything that could be in season 2 since I first read it in order to keep the slight magic of surprise while watching, and I didn’t remember the specifics of this moment. It’s so important to me though 😭

A lot of people were hating on this ep because the production on it is not good but i still enjoyed it. That being said, best ep of season 2 over the likes of Toji vs Gojo episodes, Mahito vs Mechamaru, Gojo vs Disaster curses, and Yuji vs Choso is kind of crazy.

I think Naobito was mvp, he was the most skilled sorcerer this episode. He has anti-domain techniques and he’s the second fastest sorcerer (currently first since gojo is sealed) and has decades of experience fighting. He could’ve killed Dagon, had Dagon not opened its domain. And he survived through death swarm which was much more powerful than the one nanami got through since Dagon mentioned he would focus 70% of his power on Naobito. Not to mention, Dagon is a strong ahh curse that shrugged off Nanamis hits. Naobito was an absolute badass this episode.
Actually no he could not have killed him. The damage was not enough to do any lasting damage. Nanami maybe could have killed the womb but none of them has enough damage to do substantial damage to his large hp pool

It's the same as three 8 year olds (without weapons) jumping a grown man. They might hurt him a bit but he only has to get them good a few times to end the fight. A bit of blood once is a very minor feat for an entity that regenarates limbs instantly

Of course, it’s unrealistic to say that Dagon would never open his domain, but I was just trying to make a case for why Naobito was MVP

Some of the animation definitely felt ‘forgotten’, if that makes sense. As in, some parts were top notch, a lot of it with Nanami was good, but there was also some lacking.

Naobito is actually the only Zenin clan member that I like besides the outcasts like Maki/Mai/Megumi/Toji. Naobito may be a bit of an asshole, but he still risks his life to protect Maki and treats her like a human being, while Maki's own father and other clan members treat them like they're sub-human

One thing i notice about JJK is that the elderly modern sorcerers has this very modern cursed technique like Noabito with his FPS stuff, and the Kyoto Principal with his Electric Guitar. Meanwhile the younger sorcerers has more of this occult vibe like Megumi with shikigami and nobara with strawdoll technique.
MVP is Megumi! He not only gave Maki her special grade tool so she could fight, he also provided an escape path for everyone..until Toji anyway
Mei Mei was definitely last out of the mvp list. Their pick showed that they didn't believe she could do more later. Megumi also disabled the auto hit so he is a strong choice.
So here's a summary of what anime viewers learned:
-Unless you're Gojo, you can't block Mei Mei's bird strikes
-Naobito is the 2nd fastest sorcerer... The 1st fastest being Gojo
-Unless you're Gojo, you can't activate domain expansion multiple times per day

Also, Hanami’s death which Dagon is mourning here was at the hands of Gojo, and Gojo wiped the floor with Jogo. Twice.

There is alot of characters who I think can block Mei mei's bird strike. What they were saying is that Gojo is the only one she used it against who was able to block it. But if she used it agianst Geto, Sukuna...etc they would also block it.

The absence of Gojo makes us realize how dangerous and powerful the disaster curses are..
Idk but it seems like any sorcerer below special grade has no chance whatsoever to fight against them one-on-one
Jogo, the strongest disaster curse is the one Gojo clowned on the most, so yeah
Also this episode shows how Disaster curses >> Non - Intelligent Special Grade Curse Spirits (e.g Smallpox Curse). Powers aside, the fact that the disaster curse can think for themselves and has the initiative to attack compared to the NPC like nature of the smallpox curse lol
So yeah no one stands a chance a 1v1 against the disaster curses except Gojo. However this is Jujumpsu Kaisen so we go 2v1 3v1 all the way lmao
You made me have this random thought that, maybe if gojo isn't around, the good sorcerers will have to do beyond their best to keep up with the dangers and challenges, and become much stronger than they previously can.
In other words, because gojo's there as some kind of fallback, the others won't grow as much as they potentially can, because they're not being forced to, so to speak.
Respect the Mei Mei pick for MVP, but as a manga reader and from dialogue in this episode, if Naobito wasn’t there Maki and Nanami were dead. Simply because of him keeping them in the fight, I think it’s not close and he’s MVP this episode.

Remember people, NEVER blame the MAPPA animators. It is the higher-ups at MAPPA enforcing tight schedules on the animation staff causing problems with it. I will always be grateful for the animators and the hard work they put in for the rest of the world to enjoy.
i was a little dissapointed not having the domain scene done with the same care as the yuji fight , but mappa animators have done so well that i will never blame them.
however between this episode and yuji vs the grasshopper , i am definitely worried that shibuya isnt going to be as great visually as it could be

As long as the production quality isn't hot garbage, MAPPA will probably make money. It's unfortunate, but as long as MAPPA executives are driven by money and not the desire to make good anime, things will just keep getting worse for the animators.
I feel bad for the animators and staff. Being rushed by deadline yet trying their best and still get complaint. MAPPA should handle this problem so it doesnt affect the quality. Maybe they should delay 1 week or like what _Zoom100_ did.
Yeah, it’s crazy to think that even last episode, as good as it was, was still rushed and could have been better according to the staff. Mappa has some incredibly talented and skilled people working there, so it’s a shame that we can’t get the best they could offer, even if it’s still great like last weeks episode. I’d gladly trade a l fee weeks without episodes to give them more time to make the best version of this show possible

Nah MVP is the Octopus curse. He was taking on 3 and then 4 sorcerers and was kinda messing them up. Even taking an arm from a very very experienced sorcerer in Naobito and possibly taking Nanami’s eye.
That too, when this was the first time it evolved from its womb state. If it had a bit more experience in combat it would wipe the floor with them all

Naobito is easy MVP. He literally saved maki's life and singlehandedly had dagon on ropes until the domain expansion. He was such a threat that 70% of dagons strength went to him which meant nanami survived with only the 30%. AND HE ACTUALLY SURVIVED A MINUTE GETTING SWARMED BY THE SHIKIGAMI AT 70% POWER. easy choice imo

I think Megumi deserves the MVP here. If not for him, the guaranteed hit of death swarm will still continue. Both Nanami and Naobito were taking those hits continuously and were able to survive because Megumi came in and clashed his Domain with Dagon's domain. Also Maki would have been 100% dead if not for Megumi and provided Maki the playful cloud. Another thing is, if any other sorcerer came in and help who doesn't have a domain, they are still screwed so it was a miracle that it was Megumi who entered since he was the only student that has a DE + his shadows technique allows him to open an exit within Dagon's domain.
But I can also see why other people will think Naobito is the MVP of the episode as he was doing the most the entire fight. But still, Megumi coming in here increased their survival chance from 0% to 80%

I used to think they couldn't top the fight between Yuji and Nobara vs the 2 brothers with that synced black flash, but season 2 has had so many fights on par with it. I'd argue last week's episode was the best episode in all JJK,but this week's episode started what's for me the best 3 fights in Shibuya:
1. Toji vs Dagon
The other two are as hot as that one.
Even tho both of the curses mei mei and the zenin group fought were special grade, there was a huge difference in power between them, even in the special grade category the difference in power can be really big, it's like comparing sukuna with that one special grade curse he fought in season 1.
It only took a grade 1 sorcerer to defeat the disease curse while for dagon (the octopus curse) even 2 grade 1 sorcerers (counting megumi) and special grade 1 (naobito) and maki using a special grade curse tool weren't enough to beat him, and yet naobito was doing well against it at the start before he used his domain and even afterwards he endured 70% of its death swarm for a full minute, I think naobito deserved MVP for this episode more than mei mei imo.
This shows how general audience reacts vs how crybabys in twitter reacts. Sure a after the mei mei production collapsed and mappa putting staffs to hell but it still managed push through and made this happened, thank god we got the some of the best staff working on it

Seeing Megumi’s “I’m risking my life, but I’m not throwing it away” calling straight back to the flashback we see of him training with Gojo in 1x23 before he opens his domain for the first time… I thought my heart was going to stop 🥹 I’m a manga reader (no spoilers here!), but I intentionally haven’t reread anything that could be in season 2 since I first read it in order to keep the slight magic of surprise while watching, and I didn’t remember the specifics of this moment. It’s so important to me though 😭

A lot of people were hating on this ep because the production on it is not good but i still enjoyed it. That being said, best ep of season 2 over the likes of Toji vs Gojo episodes, Mahito vs Mechamaru, Gojo vs Disaster curses, and Yuji vs Choso is kind of crazy.
