    It is important to mention the spacer for the z limit switch. Printers like the elegoo need it. If you don’t print it out and add it. You will get grinding noises when the printer tries to go home. I’ve seen a lot of people complain about their printers and didn’t use the spacer.

    This is a game-changer. Us Phenom guys printing big stuff are gonna have such an easier time. I've never used a metal scraper if I can help it specifically to avoid gouging. Now I don't have to suffer with my plastic scraper, lol

      @@TheMechanix78900 EXACTLY. I cannot belive all these people are saying this product is a "game changer" or some amazing shit - if you're having that much of a problem getting your print off the bed, you're really dumb. Glad to hear those magnets are nice and strong. When you were installing it, I was worried about those thin magnets but it looks like you were able to print with no issues. • @VectorRoll
    @VectorRoll 4 года назад +4

    Just a heads up for those getting one for the Elegoo Saturn. The build plate for the Saturn seems to have two sizes. The original and advertised size is 192 x 120. The possible newer version is slightly bigger at around 195 x 125 give or take a mm. I let WhamBam know of this as I noticed it when I got my replacement Build Plate for the Saturn. So WhamBam is aware of this and is double checking with Elegoo to confirm. If it is confirmed, WhamBam should be adding that size as well at some point down the line.
    So far I know of one other person that also received a larger replacement build plate.
    Anyways, when you all get your Saturn you might want to double-check the size of your build plate just to make sure.

      Thanks for that Heads Up VectorRoll, yes we have been made aware of this, we are trying to confirm before switching but will probably have 2 sizes available. It seems like those who received their machines already have the 192x120 build plate and those who got a replacement build plate got a larger one. Waiting to see if this is only on replacements, or when they will make the switch in production. You can pre-order yours now and if yours arrives with a bigger build plate before we ship, you can always let us know and we will change your order!

      For pre-orders we are shipping directly from factory to get parts to users in quickest time. We will have some stock available in the USA in about 6-8 weeks if you prefer to wait. We do not use China post as this can take 20-30 days, and parts are frequently permanently lost with bad tracking and nothing you can do about it. We are using major carriers like FEDEX, UPS, and DHL with good tracking and accountability and usually 5 or less days of shipping! We do not upcharge on shipping and usually take a small loss. The issue is there is a minimum 1kg package rate so sometimes you can get 3-4 kits into the shipment with same shipping rate. I hope this explanation helps!

    I have the some issues with my Mars and Saturn now that i use FlexPlates (No Wham Bam). They are quite nice but since them almost all prints fail an get stuck on the FEP early or late in the print.
    I clean my Resintank with window cleaner instead of Iso. Iso washes out the transparency, window cleaner does not. After that i wipe it clean with paper towels and polish with a microfibercloth. I sanded them with sandpaper and raised the bottom exposure time from 60 to 75 and it initially worked. Now, almost all fall off early or late in the print on both Mars and Saturn.
    I'll cleaned the tanks with iso and raise the lifting speed. So, nothing sticks anymore. Nada, zip! Removed the FlexPlate (16€ down the drain), releveled the plate, cleaned the vat with Iso, Nada. Cleaned the vat again, releveled again, apllied some silcone grease... nada!

    I have the Saturn preordered and obviously got it because of the large volume. I might of missed it but have you done a tutorial or can you recommend one for supporting very large prints. Ive watched a lot about small and mini but didnt know how well it scales with the extra weight and peel force. Thanks! I've seen you in the facebook group. Its great you are so active and responsive! Appreciate your videos.

      @Charlie Vetsworth i wasnt sure if heavy supports for back n bottom of print and fine details medium or light depending on what they are supporting off of or how much mass of print was above it if that makes sense. Itd be nice to see some busts and figures supported cause ive heard that auto supports are basically a dumpster fire. But contact depth and any other settings that need to be changed would be nice as a starting point to learn from.

    The thing that worries me about flex plates is that over time they will surely develop deformitys from being bent over and over again,deformitys so small and hard to detect that add extra variables into why prints have failed, this is just my worry though, it may just be nonsense... I guess it depends on the structure of the material, if its light enough it should be fine because the magnet will keep it flat but if its too rigid those bends may be stronger than the magnets.... I don't know... They worry me... The biggest thing stopping me from getting one is the cost of shipping to the UK...

    just a second thought on this if you use the NEW anycubic wash & cure plus where you can hang the print plate in the cleaning fluid is there any chance that the glue holding the magnetic plate to the build stage will become loosened and come off I use water based resins that I clean in water so no trouble in my camp but in places where the cleaner is some other chemical that might dissolve and loosen the magnetic plate might need to not use that rack just a thought

    Aw man, I attached the adhesive, let it cure for 3 days as instructed, attached the flex plate, then re-read the instructions to make sure I didn't miss anything. And I missed something. That Z-Spacer is apparently required for the Saturn, and now I don't know how I can print the Z-spacer now that I have the flex plate and magnet already attached. I'm not sure what to do now. So bummed, this is a big setback, and I just started 3D printing.
