To think this was Jaye’s first ever acting job. Such a natural performer.
And he got an Oscar nomination for this performance.
Yeah he seems very natural on screen.. good film..caused a bit of a stir which was fab ❤
Still, one of the best movies ever. So bloody talented actors.
One of my favorite song and great movie !
What's jt called
I think it is JT Walsh !
I love this movie!
Totally agree!!
I'm sure. It's happening now. Enjoy the real thing lol pun intended. Get it ok Dan Marino ok lol but in the UK. Lol.
This is what happens when the main goal of a movie is to entertain and show a good story without agendas or ideologies behind it. While watching it almost forgot there was a plot, for me it was like seeing life. A very sincere and good movie.
Fuck the IRA
It’s a piece of slick and phenomenally made entertainment, with great plot and character development. I miss the 90s
no movie is free of ideology especially not Neil Jordans
Do you really think that a Neil Jordan film about the conflict in Northern Ireland does not respond to a political agenda? Let's not be naive either, if this movie were made today it would be destroyed on Twitter before its release because one of its main characters is a black transgender person. Yes, there are currently unnecessarily politicized films, but there are also many people bitter just at seeing black, Chinese or gay people in the main cast of a film.
That really is a beautiful song. With all the outfits and stuff, you forget how great Boy George's voice is. Really solid movie too. Forrest Whitaker was excellent in this.
"The Crying Game" is a song written by Geoff Stephens. It was first released by English rock singer Dave Berry in July 1964.[1] It reached number five on the UK Singles Chart
Sad movie, beautiful song.
Nostálgic times that never come back
One of my favourite films of all time.
Arranged, produced and perfomed by no other than the PET SHOP BOYS with JOHNNY MARR; guitar and BOY GEORGE; vocals. 1992.
If only they could have done an entire album, wow.
@@ChicanoPhD In 1994 PSB's "Discovery Tour" big programme mentions A POSSIBLY NEW COLLABORATION but 26 years have passed and...
An incredible, ground-breaking movie for its time, and it has aged well, if not even better!
Excellent movie & theme song 👍...I think Jaye Davidson is beautiful in this , as was he in the "Stargate". He has an exotic look , very sensual.
Absolutely. He kicked ass in Stargate. 🤘🏻😎
Obviously everyone knows the reveal now but when I first saw it on its release it was a real eye opener.
You might call it an eye popper.
It was a **cough** surprising package
Which eyesight problem(s) do you suffer from, that has not degenerated into complete blindness after thirty (30) years?
This was an extremely interesting love story. He loved "her" as a woman. He later learned she was transgender but the love didn't stop; it changed to a love for one human to another. That was fascinating and beautiful to me.
More like a lie.
@@jhrisado It wasn't a lie. Dil thought Fergus already knew.
@@julieporter7805 I mean yeahhh, but that’s something you might want to mention in conversation....Especially in dil’s case, he probably had that same situation with someone before.
I agree. I like non-traditional love stories. Interview with a vampire was one. A unconditional love triangle.
Dil thought he knew because Fergus met her in a gay bar where Trans people frequent. The whole town knew what type of bar it was except Fergus.
Great tune, almost James Bond-ish.
@The Wraith True - both tracks have a certain Bond vibe to them.
Good Call ..Your right ..I think the guitar plucking away is very Bondish now you mention it
It's a bit like Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds' also.
Nobody else could sing this song, but Boy George, NOBODY!
I wonder WHY???... NOOOOOT!!!🌈
Kylie did an AMAZING live version in 2002. It's on youtube.
Agreed, just like dil could only have been played by Jaye Davidson
The original is much better by Dave Berry.
qual o nome do filme????🙏
Underrated great movie.
Such a good movie. Great cast and an awesome song
Such a great movie touching on many themes all at once a true modern masterwork with an important message to tell ...
True👍
Classic song for a classic movie, both were before their time.
A fine film indeed, their relationship was incredible…AND a beautiful score also, along with Scandal and The Cook The Thief…this was a fine time for British film making!
Great movie. Great song. It’s underrated.
wow jay davidson looks amazing he should continue on acting . he could be in the movie ready to wear . love him on stargate.
One of my most favorite movies and songs!! I love them both!
Love this Movie, I even have the DVD.
Love "boy Georges" Song too. 🤠🖖
I remember that morning in 1992 I walked from Normandy ave. And Beverly blvd. All the way to Tower records on Sunset Blvd to buy me the single Lp that I still have in my garage with Boy george beautiful face in. I will . always love and admire him. I watched the movie at the Beverly center the same day.
Excellent song and movie, Mr. GEORGE its a great singer.
W filmie boy nie śpiewa tego utworu
I saw the film and with it learned to love this song over 20 years ago in my English class. I've never forgotten it since. Now I'm about to use it in my own English class.
I'm glad I know this song from before Ace Ventura. I knew this song before i ever saw the movie, "The Crying Game".
I'm glad because I get to appreciate it as a song about love and loss.
This movie was way, way, ahead of its time
Wow!!! Where does the time go??? This song is pushing 30 years old!!!
I saw it in the tenth grade and it was fairly controversial at the time, that's how I know time flies 😀
Pushing 60 years! It was first released in 1964 by Dave Berry
🥴 UGH.. I hadn't done the math .🤣
Thanks for nothing! BAHAHAHA...🤣
Wow. Havent heard this in a while. What a tune and what a film it was.
Wonderful movie and iconic singer!
Fantastico film, fantastica canzone, fantastico Boy George!!!!
This was such a great movie. Films today just can't reach this level of excellence... Every once in awhile the planets align out of the madness something brilliant emerges that across the board hits all points and fires on all cylinders... This movie is that
Man oh man.. What a GREAT song this is!
Jest ever
Brilliant song and film, very emotive and great acting
Beautiful ❤️ Love Boy George 🤙🏼🤟🏼😁
This was one helluva movie....left me in awe at the dichotomy of these characters and their stories, but yet they seemed to seamlessly intersect one another. How? That was the brilliance of the storyteller. It's unimaginable. Yet there it was ..
The sort of intense dramatic film I would like to watch. Great song as well.
This film is about "nature", human nature. Hence, the use of the scorpion and frog story. No matter how he might try Fergus could never love a man. The great accomplishment of this film is that it never plays Dill as a freak or a joke but rather as a full and complete human being completely and beautifully female. There is no pretension in Dill's embrace of who she is and that's what makes her love for Fergus so heartbreaking. In addition to the challenge to Fergus's nature, the male audience and my guess many females as well are both challenged by Dills's beauty, sexuality, charisma and decency. It's a breathtaking performance by Jaye Davison and a crime that he never became the world renowned actor he most surely had the talent to become. But the Dill/Fergus dynamic isn't the only example of "nature" that the characters challenge us with. Jody's nature is loving, gentle and kind certainly not the nature of a warrior. The IRA maniacs are driven not by goodness or passion for justice but by hate and blood lust and of course, Fergus is no killer. He is much closer in his nature to Jody and Dill than the cretins who use politics as a smokescreen to justify their murderous impulses. For whatever reason the first act of this film never really worked for me and the third act really didn't improve on the magnificent second act. Perhaps being in the company of characters like Dill and Fergus who were so beautifully realized made the intrusion of maniacs simply unwelcome.
You said Fergus could never love a man, but Dil is not a man, and he does love her.
@@salamanca1954 Two years ago! I almost forgot the imbecility of the miscreant left was in full swing destroying even thoughts on the glory of Cinema. "Soon, other Morton's will come along and they'll kill it". Sorry Moron, Dil was not a woman and no Fergus was not in love with her/him. The film is about human nature and like the murderous maniacs polluting the film, you and your ilk will NEVER win at polluting Cinema and those who love it with your pathetic, witless and imbecilic rantings. It is the reality that human nature wills out and that's in the end what makes Neil Jordan's film so heartbreaking.
I love this Movie.....its Excellent
I think I enjoyed the movie better the second time, knowing the story. 💙Beautiful Dil.
I'm watching it after 30 years as I write this. As good as it was the first time, I agree, it's better on the second take. There's a lot of Fergus in me. And put in his place, I'd do the same. Not because I'm gay, but simply because when you love someone, you love them unconditionally. Come what may.
Jaye Davidson you kicked ass in Stargate! 🤘🏻😎❤️
Great film, great song

Ah, the ‘90s. Back when movies and music weren’t riddled with the garbage that they are today. 🥺

And with one of the best theme songs of all time 🙂

Stephen Rea, un actor infravalorado. Me encantó en esta película.
¿Cómo se llama la película?
Beautiful 🎶really good music ❤️
Brilliant movie, excellent Director: N. Jordan and loved the casts that played.
Good job Jaye you're awesome.
This song is very underrated
I can't understand why this beautiful song about love, passion, lose, and trust can be in so a ridicolious movie like "Ace Ventura". It breaks my heart when Dill find out Paddy know what really happen to Jodi and why he came to London in her hair salon.
This song being featured in Ace Ventura did it no harm.
Wonderful song and wonderful movie.
Sincronia emocionante entre as imagens e a musica...e a história mais que incrível.
@Miguel 4K Playlists caramba achei que esse filme era uma memória falsa...

Ok they fooled me. Had no idea what the movie was about.
And, some how...a portion of this movie ended up on one of the Naked Gun movies...
Stephen Rea a good actor.
And yes, overall it was a good movie. I think, I think that was the first time I saw Forrest Whittaker.

J'ai passé un bon moment à regarder ce film 😊
Nice to see Superintendent Ted Hastings in an early role before he joined AC12
This goes to show that some of us, fall in love with the person, the character, the soul, if we are open enough..
0:25 get goosebumps at this scene. The look of a man whose escaping or escaped his past, but still haunted. And is now trynna change and finds someone who sees their pain and shows the affection.
That's what I get, when I see Fergus getting his haircut from Dill. He's ran from his past in the IRA, but obviously is haunted from that experience, his previous actions and might be a little lost. But Dill sees him for who he is or who he can be and shows him it's gonna be okay.
