Foreigner is my absolutely FAVORITE group, & I think Kelly Hansen is THE BEST vocalist. He hits every note, & he OWNS the stage when he's on it. And he is not shy about giving credit to the fellow group members & not hogging it all to himself. Mick Jones found a superb replacement for Lou, who was a great vocalist in his day. Joe Bonamassa and his band do a great job mixing classic Blues Rock and Saxophone and Trombone ... I highly recommend listening to his band or going to see a concert of his.
Jeff Pilson's musicianship has always impressed me, his Basswork inspires mine, and his enthusiasm as a musician puts him right up there in my top 10 influences as a true natural on the bass.

Reading all these comments, why does one singer have to be better than the other? Can't we just be happy that Foreigner are wrapping up their career with their dignity intact ( yes, I realize that Mick is the only original member left)? I remember seeing Kelly with Hurricane in 1988 (yes, Im that old). I remember thinking this guy is WAY bigger than the average front man. Even then, he knew how to respond to a crowd. He had frontman written all over him. I was/am so happy for his success. He friggin earned it. He's also been nothing but respectful of Foreigner's history. That being said, Lou is the originator, he (and Mick) crafted these great songs that will on well after we're all long gone. Can you give the world a greater gift? So, I can care less who sings better and in what key. They're both amazing vocalists and musicians. Just be happy for the music.

Actually is Lou Gramm - born Louis Andrew Grammatico - but you are right: Lou Gramm and Mick Jones was Foreigner! They both will remain in the Book of Music History. Respect, Kelly, Hansen a powerfull voice, but you have been born too late for... real Foreigner.
i was skeptic the moment Hansen left his former band Hurricane to join Foreigner because it was weird for me seeing a great rock singer like him fronting an adult oriented rock band, but im really glad he pulled it off, hes awesome in Foreigner and the band sounds incredibly tight as well... id love to see them live again soon in vegas.
I am 59 yrs old and absolutely still love Foreigner. I was fortunate enough to see them in Ottawa, Canada of Aug/85 with Joe Walsh as back up. "I want to know what Love is", is one of my favorite songs. Great vid ... good memories!! cheers
Love this band since they came out! Mick Jones can write a song that is timeless!! If you don't agree, you are not listening! This band is a prime example of a band that had huge radio play and almost nobody knows who wrote the songs? Well, true Foreigner do!! It's good to see that Mick can still play the crap out of his guitar. Mick Jones and his band were my guitar teachers along with AC/DC etc.. Thank you for helping me be the player I am today! I'm 57. Still playing heavy music to this day. Metallica, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, all the greats!! Thank you Mick for being an early influence on me,,, You are AWESOME!!

They tuned down half a step so he could sing Lou's lyrics. Not knocking him at all - everyone tunes down nowadays (looking at you Kevin Cronin) to hit the notes. Meanwhile us bar band singers are still kicking them in the original keys - just sayin'.
Johnny Edwards who replaced Lou in 1991 and made the Albim Unusual Heat, was great live. People are unaware that Hansen and King Kobra vocalist Mark Free were also in the running to replace Gramm when he left in 1990, the band chose Johnny Edwards who's currently fronting his band in KY called BLEU PHONQUE ( pronounced Blue Funk).
I saw Foreigner twice back in 77. Great band then with Lou Gramm and still great with Kelly Hansen singing and as always a tour de force by Mick Jones. Many thanks for posting!

This is NOT the original foreigner. This guy COPIED lou's singing. LOU creayed the s pound of the songs..not necessarily this guy. He is merely copying .

Will never forget this song when I first heard this double vision 1978 a jr in high school at my friend Dave house. Dave was passed out and I was rounding second with his older sister a college freshman . To be young again.
I fell in love with Foreigner when I was just a little boy back in the 70s. It is 2020 and the band still sounds fantastic !!! Totally miss Lou Gramm. Kelly's Hansen has a great style of his own and Mick Jones the genius behind it all, a true Rock Legend.

Oh my god "Say You Will" was over the top. I listened to Foreigner so much when I was young that these songs are ingrained in my mind forever. Every word, every guitar stroke, every drum beat.

I saw Foreigner way back in 1977 in Wilmington NC. They were brand new then.... The original foreigner was king of the radio in so many ways, especially given the number of awesome artist of that time. I think Kelly does an awesome job filling Lou's shoes... His respect for Lou Gramm is clear, he has said so many times in public.. Lou's tumor took a tremendous toll on him. What I find amazing is that when Foreigner re-recorded many of their original material, they left 99% of it identical.. I credit this to Mic... Thankyou Mic for keeping the original sound intact.... They are still a class act... Here is hoping that they venture my way again.....

No one can sing like Kelly Hensen now a days. I have seen most of the classic rock act last year and no one is even close to him from singing perspective. Absolutely brilliant.
There are a few others standing the test of time. I saw The Scorpions on tour last year. Klaus sang as well as ever, he was hitting notes all night I didn't think he'd go for. It was a awesome concert and they rocked hard with every song a classic. You can also add Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler & Bruce Dickinson to the list too.
I had the opportunity to watch this concert, it blew me away. Absolutely fantastic life performance, the best life performance seen so far. Kelly Hanssen is just exploding full of energy.
Arguably the best sounding original classic rock band out there these days. Kelly is an amazing singer, the three guitars and the incredibly sax dude all make for an insanely tight, spot on performance.

wow the best Foreigner live I have ever seen! Great performance, I love Lou Grahmm, but Kelly does a very good job, for me, now he is foreigner, he deserved. Mick found the best replacement in the world for sure.

I saw Foreigner way back in 1977 in Wilmington NC. They were brand new then.... The original foreigner was king of the radio in so many ways, especially given the number of awesome artist of that time. I think Kelly does an awesome job filling Lou's shoes... His respect for Lou Gramm is clear, he has said so many times in public.. Lou's tumor took a tremendous toll on him. What I find amazing is that when Foreigner re-recorded many of their original material, they left 99% of it identical.. I credit this to Mic... Thankyou Mic for keeping the original sound intact.... They are still a class act... Here is hoping that they venture my way again.....

No one can sing like Kelly Hensen now a days. I have seen most of the classic rock act last year and no one is even close to him from singing perspective. Absolutely brilliant.
There are a few others standing the test of time. I saw The Scorpions on tour last year. Klaus sang as well as ever, he was hitting notes all night I didn't think he'd go for. It was a awesome concert and they rocked hard with every song a classic. You can also add Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler & Bruce Dickinson to the list too.
I had the opportunity to watch this concert, it blew me away. Absolutely fantastic life performance, the best life performance seen so far. Kelly Hanssen is just exploding full of energy.

Arguably the best sounding original classic rock band out there these days. Kelly is an amazing singer, the three guitars and the incredibly sax dude all make for an insanely tight, spot on performance.
