This is probably my favorite USA Slash signature Les Paul. I love the finish, and it sounds amazing. I think this would be my first Gibson Slash Les Paul. Absolutely beautiful
I tested this les paul in a guitar shop in Sweden and I must say that it sounds really good. I think the pickups sounds better than the ones in the 2018 gibson models. It also had better sustain than the 2018 models I tested.
Yeah. He has the one with the maestro with regular trapezoid inlays, and he has the one with the small pickguard and signature lightning bolt inlays. Killer guitar.
I have one of these models and it’s definitely one of my favorite guitars and one of the best playing ones I’ve had. The only one I can say that’s objectively better is the custom Dunable I had made, but that’s to be expected since it was made to the specs I picked. But yea incredible Gibson, I’ll never sell this one.
You do great videos dude, but there's only around a hundred thousand or so gibson models and I think you've covered 98% of them. Maybe that's your cash cow on reverb, if so hats off to ya. your doing great!
Those are the new style shaller strap locks! It confused me too when I bought a new set for one of my new guitars. But that’s fairly new I think? I’m not quite sure. But they are Shaller.
Man...i can't say anything. That's Slash's signature guitar, the one that made me dig about Gibson besides Gary Moore. My Fav Slash's signature is the Snake Pit 😍 Holy crap...it's sold so quickly 👍👍👍
Hey Trogly. I have a 1995 Fender MIM Squier Series Strat, and they aren't super common. So I was wondering if you would be interested in showcasing it on the channel or a WYRON on the series in general?
@@Trog aw dammit. I don't got any money. Sorry for wasting your time, but I do advise you to look into the model because of it's interesting and hard to find history.
Really nice example of flame maple. I remember looking at those brand new. So I researched them and found that they were not really much difference in playing than any other les paul and they needed to be tweaked. So I did'nt buy. I just felt that if I am going to be buying a signature guitar, it should be more than ordinary.
That is a nice guitar I'm actually going to check it out on your Reverb, I would say it looks excellent except for this my father bought one brand new and handed it down to me and it looks amazing you would never know it didn't come out of the showroom a few days ago now yes I did mod it with gold locking Grover tuners a gold Bridge and tailpiece I put gold covers over the humbuckers and gold Gibson locking strap locks now the knobs took me a little while but I finally found black glass ones with gold numbers and it looks phenomenal not just in my opinion but everyone that has ever seen it is in love with it which makes me wonder the person that own this one why didn't they do something just something honestly it looks like it's in bad shape because I'm used to looking at mine I could do the same thing with hahaha Let's see what you want for it trog and thanks for making this video, he'll it's already sold, it's ok I wouldn't have played that, I do hope whoever got it enjoys it.
Bit of a Slash fanboy here, I've got a 2010 AFD LP & it's a cool guitar. I really like the SD pups too, great for letting rip. Don't get why anyone would pull the studs tho, that wrecks the grip.
I have a what's called sunset les pual very similar color an my favorite thing is also the dark back bc mine has that too .its like a dark cherry wood almost black .so beautiful
Austin, have you seen the video from twoodfrd doing the headstock repair on one of these guitars? He works his magic on a 2008 Slash Custom, same as yours almost. Check it out, his work is fantastic. The video is about a year old.
Those are the new Schaller S-Locks strap buttons. The advantage relative to the older Schallers is that they are thicker and longer screws. As a result, there is no need to fill the stock screw holes in and re-drill them on Gibson guitars.
I think i could get a good answer in this comunity, i want to adjust my les paul to be an easier bending guitar can i just adjust the height of the tailpiece and then intonate it again?
I have one of those. It’s one of the best playing Les Pauls I’ve ever played. Unfortunately I don’t have the COA or case candy. Lost them in a breakup with an ex girlfriend. What knobs do you think would go with this guitar?
Do all the 2008 slash signature guitars have that slash logo on the head stock? I've seen some that only has the signature on the trusrod cover and it says Les Paul on the head stock. No logo. How would you tell a fake?
I always prefer signature guitars without any identifying marks on the face of the guitar. That being said, I just prefer the Standards(although it'd be great to have these color choices without buying a Slash or Custom Shop model).
FYI, Not only are those ceramic capacitors inside, but they are also Z5U type which are just about the worst sounding ceramic capacitors made. For a cost effective sound improvement, use an Orange Drop 716P series capacitors which are polypropylene film and extended aluminum foil non-inductively wound construction with tinned copper leads. Just say NO to ceramic capacitors!
the finish looks like my '12 studio deluxe 2. flame top and all maybe not as flamey. mine is minus the binding. but hey I can handle that for under $1000.... cant wait to gut the push pull electronics and replace with rs guitarworks vintage upgrade kit new pots with pio caps. should make it into a whole new animal.
Why does the headstock look a little off to me? Almost looks Chinese knockoff ...but I've seen your videos and am a huge fan of yours I figured your pick up on it
Never a fan of zebra pups. Otherwise I dig it, btw, only Sig I almost bought was a Dean Retro MSG V , $549 . Already had a bakers dozen. Should have bought it. Even Slash was a fan.
@@wesleyAlan9179 I knew they originated as 'accidents' in the late '50s. I actually have a guitar that has them. A Cort Arrow I paid $150 for over 20 years ago and really love. Maybe if the Br pup on the 'Paul was turned around i'd be happier ;)

Another absolutely stunning LesPaul, keep them coming Austin.
I picked up my 2023 November Burst 3 months ago... I hunted one down that looked just like this one! LOVE IT!!
This guitar Sold less than 28 minutes after being listed!
Outstanding Trogly, way to go Sir.
The top and color sold itself haha
Ha! That's awesome! Beautiful LP!
This is probably my favorite USA Slash signature Les Paul. I love the finish, and it sounds amazing. I think this would be my first Gibson Slash Les Paul. Absolutely beautiful
I am not a huge Slash fan at all... but man that 2008 to me, is one killer looking guitar! I've seen some going for almost $4700 Canadian... insane!
Can’t believe it’s sold already! Man, you’re good Trogly.
To see you w/ a Les Paul is like when I got into your channel. Beautiful guitar!!
I've always liked dark burst/antique burst finishes. This one is particularly pretty.
You have gotten noticeably better at playing over the past few months. Keep it up!
Already regret not getting this one!!! Nice godfather cover!!
Mark Agnesi had it. Those scratches are from the zippers on the jackets he refuses to take off.
Hey, you missed out the pickup output readinds. My favorite part! Like your videos, learn a lot from them.
This!!! This is the best slash guitar in my opinion ...actually if it was a custom it would be in my top 5 I love it
Such a sweet guitar. I've never been much of a fan of signature models, but I would totally rock this one.
Kind of a ‘blonde’ burst at least that’s what I’d call it! I love the looks of it
Yeah it kinda reminds me of the blonde and black Nita Strauss Ibanez guitar
This might be the bestest guitar you've ever review + demo'd.
I have one of the 1600s at home, never played though, lots of ambition, no skill
Your left hand position has changed, troggly is improving ! Great godfather Cover and what a Sound it was slashy

Beautiful guitar... and you’re getting better dude!
When it comes to signatures, I'm just glad ESP sells affordable LTD versions of Hetfield's and Hammett's signatures.
Every considered doing an Angus Young signature SG? I know he's had a few over the years.
Yeah. He has the one with the maestro with regular trapezoid inlays, and he has the one with the small pickguard and signature lightning bolt inlays. Killer guitar.
I'm still waiting for him to review the Brian May Red special or an EVH
@@LacerdaIsAWeeb he reviewed an EVH shark in the year since you have made this comment. Are you happy now?

Gibson is what I’m known for and what I consider myself to be an expert in. I’m definitely going after Fenders more now too though!
I’d love to see the slash “inspired by” one day!

I’d love to see a video on the different weights of all the Les Pauls you get your mitts on. Anything more than 9.5lbs scares my shoulder.

The strap locks are the new Schaller straplocks. I installed them too and they don't counterfit the previous version!
Thanks for the clarification! I was wondering if that’d be the case - looks like I need to set a strap up with that kind now!
Love the slash signature guitars!

RNF'NR is slash debut solo album
The burst really reminds of fender antiqua burst they did in the 70s
Antigua is a great color

Woot! A Gibson video. It’s been awhile. Thank God no Fender video.

I really dig the looks of this one.doesn't seem right that les's name isn't on the headstock.the neck pu sounded great
Nice review.can you review the gold top model of this series
I love the 2008 line - Gibson USA , Custom Shop and the Epiphone (which was my first electric guitar). Way more the current slash line
Imagine a world where it became customary to change your pickup selection with your fretting hand.
Wonderful.
Omg. Where did u get that. I’ve been looking for one for yrs. u have no idea how bad I want that guitar
Hey Austin, what happened to the SnakePit counterfeit guitar? Think I asked before but forgot all about it!
Forgot to show the pickups voltage.
Plz i want to know.
its actually resistance, voltage is a whoe other story
Ok, resistance.
I have a set of SD. Alnico 2 pro. 7.50 neck and 8.00 brodge.

I think i could get a good answer in this comunity, i want to adjust my les paul to be an easier bending guitar can i just adjust the height of the tailpiece and then intonate it again?
Those are Schaller strap pins, they are the newest ones, now it isn't a screw and a knob, it's one whole piece.
I was about to comment the same thing, but had to look not to double post.
yeah, I was thinking that the allen wrench thing looked familiar. Then I saw this reply and remembered I have them on my LP.

this guitar has an availible listing in my country. has it increased in Value what would it go for nowadays?
What is the type of the light, for the guitarra see purple???
The Slash sig pups are about 500 ohms hotter than the standard Alnico II Pro pups, I be,lieve?
