- Part 2 of a busway enforcement operation on EDSA - which took place on Monday.
There was an unusually high number of cars apprehended.
Perhaps the drivers weren't expecting to see SAICT enforcers, since it's unusual for such an operation to take place during a holiday.
DOTr statistics estimated the EDSA busway ridership for May as 6,054,779 - proving how effective the buses are at moving people.

Can you do a follow-up report on those that tried running from the enforcers? This way you can show what really happens to those that think they can just violate and avoid being caught by running away.
They think they can run away? Nope. It happened to my nephew. He thought after a year ok lang but when it's time for him to register he paid much for the penalty.

Nothing we can do about those ones without plates if they escape. Some people really do be like that and are okay with driving with the risk of their car getting towed.
Maybe using cctv to track them but i doubt the authorities will do that, nor do we have enough cctvs on the roads.
Seems like 5k is too cheap for them. Make it 20k or even 50k.
The fine will increase to 10k pesos in their next offense.
1st offense 20k
2nd offense 30k plus impound (1week)
3rd offense 40k plus impound (1 month)
4th offense 50k plus 1 year suspension of license
Let's see if these drivers won't still follow a veryyyy simple rule.😅

for sure during midnight to early morning, there is a lot of violator. even in small streets in manila they dont follow street lights, hoping someone can start questioning the TRO for the NCAP if when it will be lifted.
There should be additional fines if someone tries to run away.
Heck, these violations should be criminal acts and marked in your Police records

The reality is most of the people caught don't pay the fines. Even if you make the fine PHP 20k, they'll just drive w/o their license.

@Gadget Addict, could you also please urge the MMDA to clear up / clean up the foot bridges in Pasay Rotonda full of vendors, trash and even human feces, and also clear up the road near PITX Macapagal south bound full of parked cars. They just keep coming back, no concrete solutions.

@@cynthiamaegonzales7002 Uh-huh. That being the PCG is under the Department of Transportation giving the latter a large pool of personnel to pull from to bolster manpower for traffic duties...at the bus lane... on EDSA. The COAST guard.
And the PCG is a non-military organization thus those flagging down motorists are not soldiers. The national coast guard has a weird dualism that it should address.
The enforcers have to thank them for their contributions to the Philippine government. 5,000 for each one of them. Nice!

@GadgetAddict, do you know how many simultaneous operations are happening on EDSA, both north and southbound? Last Wednesday, I saw a Busway operation, but just a bit further, motorcycles were back in the bus lanes, seemingly not expecting any more SAICT operations.

All the lanes are moving just fine very fast too. The only time i see it stop is someone refusing to pull over so all the lanes gotta stop.
Any attempt to get away should be considered as grounds for third offense. If you have to exert effort to catch the driver should be enough.

Any delay by drivers in handing over their license when they were clearly in the bus lane should result in immediate impounding.

Not only Cubao sees a lot of bus lane violators, look at Ortigas.
Actually they should also check out weekends, a lot of bus lane violators abound... Cause they feel the enforcers are not working.

Please tell me that the Pajero got impounded. Carrying expired license is equivalent to driving without license which is a impoundable offense.

Love the videos. But why do you blur the faces of the violators? Or the plates of the ones that try to escape? Why protect the privacy of these individuals who are committing the violations? Well certain numbers of vehicles, especially cars on commonwealth abuse the bike lanes on weekends as usually officials too are off trying to rest in the weekend
So not surprised they abused holidays too, thinking "oh there shouldn't be any traffic officials on holidays..."
Attention: To all undisciplined riders and drivers!!!, ok lang yang ginagawa nyo, araw arawin nyo yan hanggat gusto nyo!, marami naman yata kayong pambayad nang multa na P5K eh salamat sa contribution nyo sa gobyerno.
I believe in privacy and non-humiliation of those caught however when these people have become habitual offenders then those provisions should be thrown out the window.

Please remind traffic enforcers to repaint road markings. Also EDSA U-TURN signs should be placed at strategic places prior to U-TURN Slot not when already inside the slot.

Malalakas pa rin ang loob na dumaan sa bus lane kahit mataas na ang penalty, bakit kaya? May pambayad na ulit siguro. Panahon na yata para gawing 10k ang minimum penalty para diyan.

If the rider wont show any license, either increase the penalty by the increasing minute or instantly tow away the vehicle. MMDA needs to find a way to make a statement here or just plain make these riders shut up

Only in the Philippines mostly of the drivers was hardheaded even though they knew that bus way is prohibited for private card and motorcycle.thats Phil's is still no progress county because of this people itself not following simple rules..

Sir at this point we know now that the Bus Lane violators will never stop..and when no Bloggers and Media around, Traffic enforcers not all of them will likely take Bribes and Palakasan.
At this point it becomes a money pit for the government, and the enforcers too are causing traffic because of these.
We can see it on your Videos, they are the one causing traffic for stopping the flow of the vehicles, i too has a car and motorcycle so i know this.
We can eliminate this by putting safety barriers on the bus lane. Not the one that they're using now, but organic barriers that can be manipulate, Here in the Philippines we have so many good planners , designers and engineers who can make this happen. Just look at Dubai and Singapore . Most of their Designers are Filipinos.

you guys need to be careful especially this operation doesnt have police officers involved. although in ph setting its unlikey tonhappen but theres always a posibility that some drivers or riders have guns
