My 2014 Santa Fe Sport went into "Limp Home" mode, now called “Engine Protection Mode”, and produced this code at the dealer who replaced the engine. Wife and daughter were driving the car in Nowhere, Nevada and suddenly slowed to 25MPH in front of a semi on the freeway. Lucky they survived to get a 2hr $600 tow to the nearest Hyundai dealer. So.. Hyundai KNOWS there's a problem and decides to wait until it fails in an inconvenient/dangerous location to fix it - AFTER it breaks! Not happy
Just went through a touch-free car wash yesterday, CEL flashing and no boost all the way home. Probably just need to dry out the connector and use some dielectric grease when reassembling. Reportedly a common issue, especially with the N performance models.
Same code. 2020 Tucson. Got it from deep puddle. Limp mode engaged. No knock. Oil good. Where does the other end of the knock sensor go to? The harness…but where in the engine compartment. Pretty sure it’s just a short.
Just had the P1326 code on my 2014 Santa Fe Sport Turbo. I as well went thru a local touch less car wash with undercarriage spray. 15 minutes later car goes into limp mode. Could still drive it but like no power when starting to move so kinda dangerous on busy roads and the car becomes governed. I Stopped at AutoZone to get the code read and that’s when it came up “knock sensor”. I went and had the sensor replaced the next day and $750 later it’s been back to normal With no issue. Garage told me if it comes up again to take it to local Hyundai dealer to see if there is a software upgrade/recall. Seems to be disheartening as I just purchased the car used with 70,000 on it. I’ve had it for 6 weeks now and this goes on.
Exact same year as mine and I drove to Texas to pick up my sister in law. Not even 30 mins down the road from my house in Colorado it finally popped on the engine light and was harsh on the highway to get home. I took it to an Auto zone they coded it as a p1326 and now I’m looking at buying the part to fix it myself since it’s gonna cost about $3000 to fix is what I was quoted at a mechanic shop here in CO🤦🏽♀️
Thanks for the video. My 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe threw this code. It had the update to the sensor done in 2019. Took it to dealership and they replaced the sensor for $710. Should I had been charged? I’m seeing that this is on a recall and maybe shouldn’t had. I’m so confused can’t get a straight answer.
im calling about mine and they were telling me the sensor isnt covered under the warranty, just an engine replacement if you had needed one. they hopefully did an engine insepction when you took your car in with concerns about your knock sensor.
Hi, I am getting P1326 on my car and it suddenly start knocking as soon as this code come ( before that there was no noise) , I took it to dealer and they reset the code and change knock sensor but noise is still there they perform something called bearing clearance test and claim it passed so we can’t replace engine under warranty and tell me it is something related to piston walls having scratches and the noise can be because of that ( but not confirming anything) , I argue that piston noise doesn’t come overnight and only comes on startup in the beginning also if this is pistion related , car should be burning or leaking oil but they have no answer to that , I am getting a feeling that they are just giving me lame excuses to avoid warranty replacement, any suggestions please ?
I have code p1326 and when I give it gas it dies down? I literally just got car back. Drove it home & now this? Do you think the manics could've forgotten about something that would cause this code? Cuz I know they gotta take apart the manifold to get to the starter on Hyundai sonata 2018...any advise would be greatly appreciated... thanks ✌️
I have the same code made the car go into limp mode at the same time the radiator went completely empty the thing is the car never over heated i checked the thermostat and sensors they are good no water in the oil either

I cleared this light with obd 2 and costs me only 10$

Does the warranty cover the 2019 Hyundai Tucson SE 2.0 I have the blinking engine light limp mode and the 2k rpms
Excellent brief overview, thank you. Is Hyundai covering the cost of all this or just if the whole engine needs replacing up to 200,000km?
