Shot on iPhone at the very end was THE biggest flex and I don’t think people understand the gravity of it. That’s yuge!
Check out the article The Verge did on the production of that event. Not so much their take on it, but just look at the equipment they used to light that event for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I will give them props for making it look possible to event shoot something like that on an iPhone, but there’s a lot of things that needed to be there for it to look as good as it did
@@lemmytheprodguy I understand that they used mad equipment and had a set. But it’s still iPhone. They said no to the RED and no to the Sony. I get it. They had a whole production set, but….they slapped an iPhone in the middle and said go. That’s huge
@@lemmytheprodguythat article should not be taken seriously by anybody. The event was shot on a MOBILE PHONE. The most valuable company in the world, worth more than Japan, shot their event using a $1000 phone. This is absolutely unreal.

Gives us hope there are important people at Apple that still remember that the User is the key and the focus, not just the bean counter (Tim) & his siccophant flamboyant pied piper lazy leader (Criag F) a second rate executive- whom left NeXT (or Apple early on after Jobs return) to goto Microsoft to come back to Apple then too sensitive to tough management with high expectations ~ see power struggle between him and S.Forstall's ousting) .
Yup, my jaw dropped when the event ended and I read that. Wasn't expecting to be as blown away as I was. Although we need more than a 2 minute BTS video from Apple. Hopefully more will come. Incredible, but not as incredible as Jern at 7:37
why im sure they have studio lighting and other production equipment that is more expensive than the iphone. you or I couldn't achieve the same result

@@possiblyinsane6995 They used probably the exact same production equipment they used in their last event, they just swapped out the phone and no one noticed. Are you saying you could produce this event with a different camera and not have lights, gimbals, drones, mics, monitors, etc?
Like what is the point of your comment? You or I COULD achieve the same thing, given you have lights and all the other professional equipment you need for a professional video production .You need the same things as you have always needed, but you could, in some cases, replace an Arri with an iPhone and no one would notice. I did not watch this event and then say "Oh, I guess I don't need a drone for aerial shots anymore".
Watch MattiH's video where he mixed Arri footage with iPhone footage, using natural light. The biggest barrier right now is depth of field, but that is going to probably be solved in the next few years.
I missed that slide at the end. No I know that the event was WAY better than I thought now. 100% was a really really got iPhone Commercial so good!

At the end of the video I was expecting you to say: Shot on iPhone, that would have been just great.
However, talking about the fact that THE APPLE EVENT WAS SHOT ON AN IPHONE, well, dude, that’s insane. Congrats to the marketing team, and of course, the engineers that make the iPhone good enough to be capable of this.
The iPhone has officially been goated for the rest of eternity. Prob the biggest baller move Apple has ever made.
Its almost as good as Samsung has been for several years now. Iphone just needs to ditch the notch and then theres still slow usb-c 2.0. Almost there iphone, just a few more years.....

Well, Samsung shot their event on the S23U.
And Androids can also do true (open gate) RAW with the MotionCam app. That has been the case for years at this point. The S23U can also do it on all 4 lenses.
I daily an iPhone along with my S23U, so I would say I'm pretty unbiased. I hate these echo chamber apple comment sections with a passion.
I’m still rocking the M1 MacBook Pro 16gb which I snapped up on day one, still going strong for photo editing.
Jon has come such a long way in his delivery over the last few years. Sure, theres still a toilet behind him and memes every now and then, but I really appreciate the shift from daily news to mostly apple news to now the confidence to cover what he wants when he wants and he usually shares a more unique take on things. They usually take the store down about an hour before an event to make sure everything is set as soon as the event ends.

That was the biggest moment of the event for me. I had to go back and rewatch that part because I thought I was seeing thing. I wouldn’t have thought or imagined that they used iPhone. That was the most impressive

The indication was actually in the opening moment, with the weird stabilization quirk iPhone does in low-light. It was noticeable while it was being flown, but I don't think anybody guessed at the time that it was because it was actually on an iPhone.

That was the most impressive part of that event. It was disappointing because I’m was hoping for a new IPad Mini 7. Not sure if a foldable iPad is actually in the works but that would be impressive for 2024.

Shot on iphone is not as high a flex as you think. I watched a film that is entirely shot on a iphone 8. It looked so normal. I never noticed anything unusual. I actually learned about the iphone 8 situation after finished watching and reading comments. Smartphone cameras are good enough since at least 5 years.
Website / store went down 20 minutes before event
I was hoping they wold do more with the IMac than just a chip upgrade and new colors , for a start a bigger screen would have been nice, or at the very least an option for a bigger screen.
I’m with Jon on this one. And before you eat me alive, if Apple starts doing these for *all* product launches, even for what are essentially internal updates and new colorways/SKUs, people will stop complaining about them being too short, or underwhelming, or whatever. If you stop and think for a moment, Apple is just normalizing cool looking product launches, period, and making the rumor mill *that* much more interesting. You’ll never know whether an Apple event will be over the top or not, but you’ll always watch them because, eehh, why not? They’ll still be cool “commercials”, anyway… In some ways, this is more Jobsian than Jobs’s keynotes, i.e. Apple is now controlling the whole narrative in a way that a simple press release couldn’t.

Guys Im buying a new Mac by the end of November, Should I get the 24-inch iMac in 16 GB and 1TB SSD or the same storage on the Macbook Pro 14 M3 with Mac display.
(As a person who will basically work from home) I already own a Macbook Air M1 8GB 256 SSD, if I want to go outside I can use my M1 MBA.

I did notice the dip in video quality… I don’t know why people are pretending that video quality was as good as their previous events… The special effects took it up a notch but the video quality itself was pretty meh…

M3 Pro got a few cuts. I wonder if the binned chip is even faster than the full core count bin of M2 Pro. They only claim 10% faster from the full bin M3 Pro to the M2 Pro. Also only 1 (!) more P core than the M3 in the weird 11 core model. But once you upgrade the base M3 model to 16GB, the M3 Pro model is sitting right there anyway, in their typical price laddering.

What did we learn? You need 2-4 TB of iPhone storage for those ProRes videos and a really good noise suppression plugin for Davinci Resolve!!

I watched this on my LG C2 Oled tv, and I was suspect with what my tv picture was doing in the background, I had a sneaky feeling this was not shot on a RED camera or the like.
For sure a flex about the phone, I really need to upgrade! But how many companies do I shoot video for and I take maybe 3 pictures a month! LOL

Honestly, all I use my MacBook for is video editing. And the m1 is plenty fast. I mean until they put a touch screen in these, it’s kind of an obsolete experience next to my thinkpad yoga….
I noticed that the video quality didn’t look as good as other Apple events. But for a phone, the result is very impressive.

I'm going to get the silver M3 Max 16 inch MacBook Pro coming from my 10 years plus mid 2012 15 inch MacBook Pro! I believe M3 series should come sooner becuase Apple on their own and they need to show they really have their performance capabilities and step up beyond their competitors, rumor and people say M3 Pro and Max chips won't come until later next year, I hope they wrong and I'm glad they wrong! Now I can finally get the one that is good enough with necessary hardware feature, the Ray Tracing hardware, to use for years to come instead of the stop gap model, I'm glad I able to wait for it! Now I can use it for work and game and good enough that I can don't buy a PS5 sooner, Death Stranding, RE and so many more! I still going to get the Silver model because it is friendlier and more MacBook looking, the Space Black doesn't look contrast enough especially the body and the keyboard darker black area and it looks like a mix of Dell XPS and Razor Blade laptops! By the way, the new wallpaper looks like FPT logo inspired artwork! will get 2TB storage but should I get the standard 48gb or upgrade to 64gb, I hope to explore 3d rendering and also some scientific development too in future and I'm going to use it for years to come and also want to prepare it for future needs like 3D video editing for VR and AR and other demands?

Such a cool way of flexing the quality and night-time abilities of the iPhone 15 Pro...and putting it at the end, after everyone watched 30 minutes of content with zero complaints about how it looked, thinking that it was shot on a professional camera...just brilliant.
