Daily Moisturizing Routine For My Short Type 4 Low Porosity Natural Hair

  • Hi!!!
    Quick video showing you how I moisturize my TWA on a daily basis (or every other day...depending on my mood LOL!!)
    I keep things VERY basic when it comes to my hair because I find that my hair thrives best when I don’t mess with it LOL!
    I am so in love with my TWA (a.k.a. Teenie Weenie Afro) but I don’t style it everyday because depending on what I use, it just dries out my strands.
    I’ve been doing this routine ever since becoming natural and my hair loves it.
    For the most part I do the L.O.C Method (Liquid or Leave-In, Oil, and Cream) which I show in this video, but there are times where I do the L.C.O Method (Liquid or Leave-In, Cream, and Oil)
    I will switch up the products that I use to moisturize my hair with at times but it all depends on the styling products that I’m using and how well they all mix together.
    Products Used In This Video:
    Kinky - Curly Knot Today - Natural Leave-In/ Detangler
    Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil
    Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie
    If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions leave them below.

      @@MsCatrin no I big chopped a few years ago but had much more hair to work with at that time. My first big chop I was more in to styling than healthy hair. God did not give me styling skills lol, which is probably why I went back to being relaxed. This time around healthy hair is my focus and because of that I’m also learning my hair. I don’t think I have enough growth to know what my hair texture, curl pattern and density will be which is why I’ll stay content with treatments that help with healthy scalp & protein/moisture balance. I’m much more happier and confident this time around too.

    Lovely hair looks very nice and healthy. I recently big chopped (after having locs for 11 years) due to hair thinning and possible hair loss. I'm in the stage of seeing what will agree with my hair...I'm only usingwater and oils to moisturize... Cream moisturizers are not working for me, they make my low porosity 4c hair feel stiff, tacky, wiry like straw... and its so frustrating 😫 Seeing a tricologist and dermatologist to address my scalp issues. Hoping I find products that works for me soon.

    • @MsCatrin
      @MsCatrin  3 года назад +1

      Sometimes it takes some time with a little trial and error before finding what works. There are days where I just use water and oil (jojoba, sweet almond, or grapeseed oil) as well and my hair feels just fine. I hope they find the source of your scalp issues soon.

    Thank you for this! I did the Big Chop on April 21 and I really want to make sure I’m keeping my hair and scalp healthy. I’m afraid I’m not moisturizing it enough. I use coconut oil and Mielle’s avocado moisturizing hair milk. I think I MIGHT have low porosity hair as well. I do have a problem with frizz especially after showering. It’s like some straight hair sticking up. Does anyone have any advice about the frizz and the moisture stuff? Thank you! ❤️

    hey Mscatrin, when i moisturise once a week, let alone daily, i get a lot of product buildup/white flakes within 5 days to which i then have to shampoo/deepcondition/moisturise again. does that sound normal to you ? during the week i have a spritz spray water bottle where ill use a few sprays on top to keep it hydrated, but the white flakes/dryhair/buildup is really annoying..

    • @MsCatrin
      @MsCatrin  Год назад +1

      Sorry for the very late response. But if you're still having the issue with the white flakes, have you tried a clarifying wash? Full cleanse with either a clay wash or clarifying shampoo? I find that if my hair gets that way, I have too much build up that regular shampoo can't remove.
