    Decided to give this a try. My hair felt so amazing: soft, no tangles (it was pretty tangled before I applied the clay), curls are popping (they never popped like this before ever). I applied it last night and braided my hair. I'll see how it looks when I take out the braids in a week.
    Made a mistake of applying the leftover clay on my face because I saw someone on RUclips saying it's good. My face was burning and became super red. I looked like I put a red mask on when I washed it off.
    I suspect it was the ACV that I was reacting to. Never making that mistake again.

    I am a licensed cosmetologist and I will still say everyone’s hair and skin reacts different. But in my experience using the ACV with the clay more than once a month for me causes my own hair to dry out and it thrives when I only use it once per month. It doesn’t seem to show any obvious or direct negative effect to my skin. But like I said all are different as far as reaction & results.

    As a German hairstylist for 11 years, I guess it’s because of the massive amount of acid you put in your hair. It’s straightens the cuticles. That’s means it’s actually like a anti frizz treatment and pleeeease be careful with the vinegar because it’s to much acid for the hair and if you use it to often your hair can over process of it.

    Awesome result! Bentonite/ montmorillonite clay is amazing for clarifying hair, removing silicones and hydrating hair. One suggestion, use the clay mask after your shampoo and before your deep conditioner. Conditioning and then using the mask is backwards because all the nutrients you're adding will be stripped by the clay. Alternatively you can use the clay as a pre-poo but the curls will lose definition throughout the process..

Yes my curls were popping but I had zero volume. My hair also did not grow a lot during that time. It took another year for my hair to go back to growing but my density remained sparse. I also noticed a lot of ladies who were making youtube videos and following the max hydration faithfully, stopped doing it. Even the original creator pinkatube has never done follow up videos and dubaidee4c completely stopped vlogs and making video. She actually used to do tutorials on max hydration

    Go easy on the acid, I totally agree with Lara Marvelous. ALSO I agree with you on the clay max. I used it for quite a while. It really does cleanse as well as leave the hair still very moisturised. I would recommend using the clay max with aloe vera instead as a cleanser. The use banana mixed with aloe vera and amla or shikhaikhai (jesus.... whats the spelling) . Ayurivedic oils and herbs work wonders for afro hair. Also embrace hot oil treatments. Keep your hair strong and moisturised to retain length and health of the hair....

    You have beautiful hair naturally. This doesn't define curls for me because my afro hair type doesn't have such curls to define. However this process makes my hair nice and soft. And prepares my hair for twisting and gorgeous twist outs. X

    Hey there -- if you can get citric acid (it's a white powder that's often sold in the canning aisle in American stores), you can add it to water to get the same effect as the vinegar without the smell :)

    Just to be clear, there's nothing wrong with the before picture when her hair is fluffy. In that state it does styles that hair can't when it's weighed down or clumped with products.

    • @Nayanzeka
      @Nayanzeka  2 года назад +4

      I know that hun, these helped boast the hydration and definition

    • @worldhealthrn
      @worldhealthrn 2 года назад +19

      No, you didn't say there was anything wrong with the first pic... however, many get stuck on feeling like "defined" curls are the ultimate or only style goal and ignore the unique and beautiful styles their hair can do when curls are not "defined". So this comment is for others watching who get the wrong impression 🙂

    Just a word of caution. If you have high porosity hair, bentonite clay can be super harsh on the hair because of it's ability to draw out water. It's extremely clarifying. For more of a conditioning clay mask, try rhassoul clay or kaolin clay. First step should be your mask (look at this step as your pre poo) and then after allowing the mask to work it's magic (20-40 mins) wash and deep condition the hair.

    • @1976kookiemama
      @1976kookiemama Год назад +1

      @@chinyelunwaokafor2187 High-porosity hair means that the cuticle has large gaps allowing moisture to enter easily, but, the hair is unable to retain the moisture that is able to penetrate the hair. High porosity hair's cuticle scales are always lifted (open) and low porosity hair's cuticle scales are closed right. Hope this helps.
