The flaking you experienced was due to the hydrolyzed wheat protein in most oil based gels like eco styler. Look for any gels without wheat or silk protein in them as they may not mix well with other products or get absorbed by the hair if you have protein sensitivity/overload. My favorite is the Wetline Extreme gel. Also, after combing through the product try two strand twisting the sections instead of finger coiling then blow dry holding the twists down. This will help the curls "clump" together, look juicier, and prevent shrinkage. Hope this helps!

Hello Naza, try styling your hair in two strand twist, putting the eco styler only at the roots to smooth them out, braiding the roots a half inch, then apply an oil base cream like shea butter and coconut oil whipped together and any other oil you may like. In order to prevent shrinkage, you can use the rubber band method, letting your hair dry completely, apply oil to your hands when you take the twist apart, gently un-twist each strand. This technique should give you definition and keep most of your length.

Ecostyler gel I find doesn't mix well with a lot of creams. Try Wetline Extreme gel...it mixes better with more products. Also make sure your hair is a little more wet and focus the gel on the roots really good before smoothing down to your ends.

This used to be my issue too! I have to deep condition every week for about a year or so before I started to have good wash and go's.
You'll have some not so great wash and go's in the beginning, but after a few months or a year you'll start seeing definition.
You kind of have to train your hair to to get used to being defined start from the shower.
So I recommend deep conditioning every week and trying a wash and go like once or twice a month for a couple months and I guarantee you'll start to see results.
You also may need to find a gel that works for you too because eco styler gel doesn't work on me. It doesn't define my curls at all. I use Uncle Funky's curly magic gel and then apply innersense i create hold gel to each section.
I hope you hang in there and start to see results 😊

For you to get a wash and go that don't flake. Use Eco styler and miracle leave in conditioner. Although miracle leave in conditioner is not as hydrating as mega growth but when paired with eco gel for styling , it never flakes. Try it and thank me later. Thats what I use and my hair comes out good

Put the sections in twists or loose braids after shingling and then dry the hair. You will retain most of the curls and your length too

This is why I started doing the front first lol. By the time I get there I'm tired and I'm not as detailed. I noticed your first section is the most defined. Also don't use eco. Use wetline xtreme gel instead it doesn't flake, is cheap and does a really good job.

Hey Girly 👋🏽 if you’re going to wash your hair and style it at different times make sure when you wash your hair you are deep conditioning. Using a regular rinse out conditioner does not count as a deep conditioner. leave it in your hair for 30 minutes to an hour or if you’re busy you can leave it in your hair for hours. use heat while deep conditioning. then use a leave in after you rinse out your deep conditioner once you get out the shower or while you’re still in the shower (personal preference). then when you have the leave in applied then you can braid your hair and leave it until you style ❤ also, before applying your products mix both the leave in and gel on the back of your hand to make sure they mix properly so the flaking doesn’t happen. however it looks on your hand is how it’ll look in your hair. if it’s clumpy that’s how it’ll look and if it’s smooth and creamy that’s what you want.

You should try this again when your hair is soaking wet for good definition. You can also separate the curls and smooth instead of finger twirling, twirling will increase the curl making it shrink more than normal.

Shrinkage is annoying but You did a great job for a first wash and go. I can't stop it with my hair lol. I do shingling but i would suggest raking the products through with your fingers a bit more sometimes and and if you're using gel, the best way is to have your hair soaking wet when applying, which makes it easier for the product to disperse and reduces the chances of getting flakes when your hair is dry.

Hello hun, have you tried doing a wash and go. Helpful tips. And only discovered this whilst watching a professional salon on RUclips. 1.) take all your products to your shower. Then condition or deep condition your hair (if your hair isn’t itchy or dirty, don’t shampoo) once you’ve applied the conditioner or deep conditioner, put a plastic cap or shower cap and then bath or wait for 10-15 minutes. 2,) rinse the conditioner or deep conditioner and whilst in the shower with your hair soaking wet add your leave in conditioner, then go under the shower to re soak your hair for a second, then add your wax or cream, again go under the shower to resoak, squeeze excess water off, then add a little amount of oil. Whilst your hair is soaking wet, you can then leave the shower and now don’t touch your hair at all, you can now air dry or use a blow dryer or hooded dryer to dry it out. Don’t touch the hair again until it’s fully dry. Once fully dry you can then use a dryer to stretch the hair :)
